From the director, whose previous works include Full Metal Panic! and InuYasha, and the studio who brought us Aldnoah.Zero and Space Brothers comes a new show that will buck the trend that many have accused the anime medium of succumbing to and bring us something that is not cute girls doing cute but an action packed thrill ride reminiscent of the shows we remember from the 80s and 90s. This is more your Dirty Pair than your run of the mill Lucky Stars.

The clock strikes midnight and you find a glass slipper, but this isn't a fairy tale and it certainly isn't a happy ending, because in this society it means only one thing, The Cinderella Girls have got your number and it looks like the shoe fits.

An elite team trained to preserve peace, operating in the shadow, the Cinderella Girls are what every girl wants to be in this rundown society.

The show follows the lives of young females who want to become members of this task force, but of course getting one of the few select places is no easy task. They'll have to face though battles and overcome excruciating obstacles to prove their worth. Only then will they be worthy of being a Cinderella Girl.

So if Idolm@ster is a bad version of Love Live, then is this a bad version of Wake Up, Girls?

I'm contemplating if we saw the same shows or not.

I'll probably give this show a look when it finishes. While the idolmaster took me a while to finish (its not really the "binge" kinda show), I wouldn't mind giving this a go if it's good.
Edit: I probably should mention that I haven't watched the second season of love live...

Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls 1

Well that was a lot better than the first episode of the previous series. Turns out that introductions work better when it's one character at a time instead of a million at once. Also helps to not have the weird male gaze mocumentary thing.

Will watch for the socially awkward and intimidating producer.

I was pretty bored with Cinderella Girls first episode, because it invested time into bringing Rin in, when we already knew that it would happen. Original Idolm@ster's first episode irritated me a bit, but there are advantages in throwing people right in and give them time to get familiar with the characters later.

IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS - 01

This was incredibly well made. I’m surprised and excited at how they’re taking a serious, more mature approach to this installment in contrast to our 765 girls. I was bracing myself to be overwhelmed with idol introductions (and trying to find my girl Kaede among them) but instead we were only introduced to Uzuki and the Producer, learning about both of them bit by bit as the show progressed until Rin’s arrival during the halfway point. Regarding the producer, I have mixed feelings. I feel that his gloomy/scary nature will be overplayed and kill my enjoyment of the show. Hell, if anything we should’ve gotten a female producer to act as a fairy godmother for these girl’s desires to become idols considering the theme of the show. On the plus side, I so loved the relationship building between Uzuki and Rin. It’s obvious that they’re going to be this series’ Haruka and Chihaya OTP so I’m expecting big things from the two of them.

I was wondering what Kaede would be up to if she’s wasn’t in the initial main cast, but seeing how she’s already successful as hell I can’t be too mad. :lol

Can't wait for Mio!

Oh and that Nation Blue instrumental was soooo good.

So Anime-GAF......how bad is it?

There was a somewhat unnerving discrepancy between the fluidity of its animation in its best scenes and the vocal interactions happening in them. That was the only thing i noticed to be personally uncomfortable, the rest was a very competent anime thing.

I think you'll like it. I don't think i'm worthy of being on anime gaf though, so take that with a grain of sugar.

First episode was pretty good. I'm already liking Rin and it looks like Mio will be a good addition too. Uzuki seems like she's gonna be that run-of-the-mill idol protagonist, but she's growing on me more than Haruka did in the first few episodes of the first anime (Sorry BGBW =w=).

If Idolm@ster was Gainax attempting to make a Idolm@ster anime then Cinderella Girls is KyoAni vision of how Idolm@ster should be adapted.

And it's glorious.

producer really reminds me of those scouts you see in LA that try to get you into doing amateur porn.

which i guess isn't that different from idol life.

And is the OT lying or something? This feels like your typical SoL. Not feeling the energy from 2011 im@s show. Weird they ditched that distinct character art style for something a bit more... generic?

Is this based off a manga or something? Googling just leads me to some mobile game.

Your google has worked pretty fine. this is based off the mobile game. But most of the girls except for the popular ones we have in the anime really are a 1 trick pony. They have one hook in and that's it. There are a lot of girls some don't even have a voice actor. But its nice to see these characters being flash out. The OP is just BG being Cheeky.

shitty ass rickrolling.
I've doubled checked the link to Daisuki, but it's pointing me to the correct page for the show. Is something wrong on your end?

So Anime-GAF......how bad is it?
It's a spinoff of one of the best anime shows ever, Xenoglossia, so it should hopefully be really good.

I don't think i'm worthy of being on anime gaf though, so take that with a grain of sugar.
No need to feel that way. Everyone is welcome in Anime GAF. They let me in for starters.
