I am 1 of the 2.1 million that is a satisfied customer.
Dayum we knew but still
East Asia and Middle East GAF it is now your turn
Get closer to the 3 million prediction for the end of this year
I expected the EU sales figures to be higher. They stated they had over a million preorders in Europe, but didn't actually sell that many.
Also, it was claimed that 250,000 PS4s were sold in the UK alone. So that would mean a third of all PS4s sold in Europe were in the UK?

1 million pre-orders with less than 1 million sold implies that they sold out and didn't ship enough to satisfy all 1 million pre-orders, not that a bunch of people pre-ordered and then decided they didn't want one.

When no one was looking, Sony
sold 2.1 million cakes. They sold 2.1 million cakes.
Thats as many as two hundred and ten thousand tens.
And thats terrible.
They likely did not ship enough consoles to fulfill all preorders.... I think some people have preordered in the USA and still not received a console... some are "preorders" to be received before Christmas. I know Walmart was running that promo.
They never gave location specific preorder details. It was always WW,
No, its still 16 modules, which is a fairly common count amongst mid-level GPUs and up. High end cards can use up to 32.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCkC6NGkS0YCould be that, yeah.
No, they did at Gamescom
The response that we have received has been nothing short of incredible. You have made it clear that you’re excited about the platform with more than one million preorders worldwide.
You're not understanding. There are multiple densities of GDDR5, but they ship in about three configurations of 8,16 or 32 modules. 16 being the most common among discrete GPUs. PS4 uses 16 in a clamshell. Even selling at a Wii pace, Sony would hover somewhere under 15% of the total market for GDDRHigh end cards are more about prestige, volume is made up of value cards (mid-level). ~$200.
Sony is still consuming a large fraction of the higher density modules. Even titans only have 6GB.

Bu-Bu-Bu Black Friday Bunduru!!

I find it amazingly refreshing that:
1) Sony's announcing sales numbers again outside of financial reports.
2) Sony isn't lumping PS3 and PS4 numbers together.
I wonder why there's the sudden change in policy? </sarcasm>
Huh? I don't think so.Vita sold 2.1 units during that same time frame.
Sales are limited by supply.Spetacular, but apparently PS4 sales after launch in US are very poor.
NPD november may surprise because XOne was more available on Black Friday.
No, it can't change. By the time Microsoft cuts their price, Sony won't be far behind it undercutting them again. Xbone will always be more expensive than PS4 as long as Kinect is included in the box.It is cheaper now, this can change.
False. Sony never claimed EU pre-orders were above 1million.I expected the EU sales figures to be higher. They stated they had over a million preorders in Europe, but didn't actually sell that many.

We got an sales figures for US and for EU launches. Don't expect weekly updates.I find it amazingly refreshing that:

There's 400 million plus GPUs sold a year. AMD and Nvidia make up about 35 percent of that, roughly 140 million. The vast majority of their best selling GPUs feature GDDR5. Say that 120 million of those GPUs are GDDR5 enabled, if Sony sold PS4s at a 20 million a year pace, that would still be only ~17%. Mind you that's a very rough estimate that 1) puts PS4 at a ridiculous rate that it won't sell near and 2) leaves out the entire market beyond AMD/Nvidia for GDDR5.Your joking Sony is going to have way more than 15% of the total market .
Sony just sold 2 million PS4 that means they already use 320 million GDDR5 chips
Also 16 is not the most common in GPUs because most GPUs don't have 8GB of ram Sony uses the latest 4Gbits chips.
What? Halo 4 is 8+ million. He's not right with his statement either, but he's closer than you are. Christ, even ODST is above GoW levels.
False. Sony never claimed EU pre-orders were above 1million.
The only pre-order figure we ever received was 1 million+....worldwide.
He's probably usingLink por favor, Halo 4's online has been dead forever. Also, even so, the overall point stands. GT is the big one for Sony, Halo is for MS. All of the other franchises have sales on par with each other.

And it's because Sony uses the latest 4Gb modules that they can use 8 GBs in the clamshell. GDDR5 scales all the way to 512Mb.
I broke the numbers down, did you stop at the first sentence or something? You are wrong 400 million GPUs don't get sell per year with GDDR5 .
Where are you getting your numbers from ?
He's probably usingvg chartz.
It's true. By the end of III Kratos killed every god including Zeus and was, more or less, dead himself. People are tired of his constant moodiness, and there is no more reason for it either. Where does the story go from there? More prequels? We've seen where that road leads. Trying to make up some reason for Kratos to soldier on? Difficult and unlikely. Change lead character? Perhaps, but then people will be pissed. This is a story dead end. Not insurmountable but difficult to surmount.
I can't find anything near that either. It was at 4 million last december, and as of july there was this:
Microsoft has declared Halo 4 as MS Studios best-selling title ever in the US.
The company announced that 343 Industries franchise entry has bested Halo 3 for sales during each respective launch year, meaning the game has surpassed its predecessor in terms of launch year sales, but not yet in total sales.
In related news, Major Nelson has announced 'The Halo 4 Global Championship' planned for later this summer. It will be made up of live and online events, and promises to boast $500k in prizes with $200k of that set aside for the tournament winner alone.
The worldwide event kicks-off at this weekend's Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, with play-offs beginning July 15 on Xbox Live.
Since Halo 3 sold about 8 million, it's safe to say Halo 4 isn't anywhere near that yet.
In the first 24 hours of its release, Halo 4 made more than $220 million worldwide, eclipsing the record for the biggest-day one opening in US box office history. The figure is also bigger than the 24 hour totals for Halo 3 and Halo Reach, which made $200 million and $170 million, respectively.
The game also smashed the record for the largest number of players in the history of the Halo franchise, with over 4 million players in the first five days.
Microsoft revealed the Halo franchise has now sold more than 50 million copies worldwide. Prior to the launch of Halo 4 Microsoft said Halo franchise sales stood at over 46 million.
Oh god, I remember that thread.Hell, some were even doubting PS4 would ever become reality.
Halo 4 was more front loaded and had worse word ofmouth than Halo 3 which was uuniversally praised by fans, casuals and the press alike. That bolded part is key. Not the best selling Halo. Launch year which isn't surprising considering the increased Xbox 360 user base.
Considering the online numbers dropped ridiculously fast I doubt Halo 4 is rocketing to Halo 3 sold numbers.
I broke the numbers down, did you stop at the first sentence or something?
Numbers come from jon peddie

So wait, does this include the 1 sale in Brazil or not? Kinda important.
That 1 sale could determine who wins this generation and therefore the direction gaming will take into next gen.
