Apple pulls everything w/ Confederate Flag from App Store including Civil War games

this is beyond dumb and aggravating.

lets just rewrite history.
You know that flag wasnt adopted until the end of the civil war right?

How are you trying to defend something without knowing the history behind it? Besides the flag can be easily replaced with the original

The other flag was adopted by the arian brotherhood and it became a symbol of hate and fear mongering.

The heritage and culture is preserved in the flag above of the confederate army.

If you're celebrating the other one, you're clearly cherishing something completely different.

Lol moving the goal post huh?

This is exactly what I consider to be censorship when the government is involve. Apple is not the government it is a business, the fact that you somehow moved from corporation to government means, you have no argument.

Ergo your statement is pointless since I believe that government censorship is the only true form of censorship. Apple has the right to do whatever it wants on its private property, government is restricted by a social contract.
Remember apple is a business, Germany is a government your example is worthless. The government isn't telling apple to remove the games, Apple is doing it themselves.

So I am done, since it is apparent one of isnt exactly sure about the argument they are making.
My whole point was that being able to circumvent the censorship doesn't negate the censorship in any form. You said it wasn't even true censorship because there are still ways to play the game, so following that logic, you'd have to say that Germany's censorship isn't "true censorship" either (but as you just pointed out, you very much think that it is). Don't you see how flawed your definition is?

Not surprisingly you didn't address that.

It is a private company, who cares.

Same dynamic applies to other giants. If steam wants to ban speech, violent games and symbols they dislike, Google wants to censor elements from its search engine via algorithms, then find another service provider. This is like a bunch of people being annoyed that Target removed some game from their shops in Australia in order to please moms who bring in a lot of cash. It is a business decision and they want to score some points within their progressive target audience, just like some conservative company will promote other ideas and values.

1) Apple is not a private company
2) If Google does not provide the search results you want you can choose another search engine. If you want GTAV but can't go to Target, there are tons of other places available for a purchase. You can't choose another app store for iOS. That comparison doesn't work.

What I meant to say was that they are not owned by the government and thus can freely make these decisions. They have no responsibility to host content they don't agree with and game developers do not have an inherent right to access that specific platform.

If in the near future a Chinese, Russian or any other company, that dominates the market, decides to exclude all games that present American military in a positive light then that's a sad day for Infinity Ward. Companies are allowed to make these judgment calls, from swastika to other political symbols/messages.
