Freedom Force + MGR:R?
STANDING HEEEERE
Except for the terribly repetitive gameplay and boring levels yeah. It was fantastic. It's almost like it reviewed as well as it did simply because it wasn't as bad as all of the other previous Transformer games. Not because it was good.
Ever play any of the Armored Core games?
STANDING HEEEERE
As someone who dug the game and got all the acheivements, I felt like it could have used more enemy variety. Pretty good game though considering it probably had a shoestring budget based on some of activisions other licensed gamesWhat was wrong with Korra? Combat mechanics were great, the overall level design isn't that much a problem in games like this where you're going from A to B, the combat and animations would be king and those were both great in LoK.
This thread made me wanna watch the movie. Did a search on Netflix and it's there no more
YOU GOT THE TOUCH
YOU GOT THE POWEEEERRR
HOLD ME I'M CRYING
Welp, looks like a Platinum game to me!
Not interested in Transformers myself but this should be a pretty cool game for fans. Also makes me less bummed about it being exclusive to a console I don't own...Scalebound though...
Hmm, I am hype only if they can find a good reason to transform into a vehicle in a brawling game.
Im sorry there are only three of you. Clobbering less than four Decepticons at a time is boring.
Dinobots, destroy Devastator!
I dunno, nothing about the leaked shots scream "large scale battles", which I assume they'd want to if it were a musou.
Shots like this:
Look almost exactly like a scene from Revengeance. Enemy types and everything.
They made a brawler for Activision before and this seems like something they would work on

In Bayonetta, W101 and Korra you can double-tap the dodge button to have your character transform into a fast-movement mode. Bayo turned into a panther, the 100 turned into a ball, Korra summoned the air scooter from the show (actually had different ones depending on which element she was using). Transforming into a truck would be the perfect thing for this game.
For a PC port, sure, but 1080p/60FPS locked would be fine on the consoles. If this is Platinum, I implore them to drop their 1080p/60 lock from their engines. Their games deserved to be played at arbitrary frame rates and resolutions.

It's a Transformers game. There will be Transforming and it'll probably be the game's double tap dodge as that poster suggestedThat is great to hear! Although I'm still a bit worried there won't be any transforming.
They can't possibly have the rights to all those licensed vehicles. G1 transformers turned into real world vehicles. For instance, the red and white transformer in these shots turns into a Lamborghini, do they have the cash to license that brand?
It was only post G1 movie that they started inventing vehicles so that they wouldn't have to pay licensing fees.
Giant Robots have been moving more fluidly and human-like for years now, though. The idea of "a massive, powerful walking tank" has been overtaken by the "large, empowering extension of one's self, that moves like it's a part of me".
Older Transformers in general never really seemed to reply on the Giant Robot stuff in fights, anyway. They maneuvered around properly-sized architecture on Cybertron, and I feel like MOST of their battles on earth were always in desert-like empty areas.
It would be funny to see a Transformers game that forced you to be as considerate of your size, as say.. R.A.D. But that's a whole new ball of wax, that'd probably get in the way of the hoped for "stylish action brawl" we're expecting out of this title (if it's really Platinum)...

They of course aren't going to license any real vehicles for this but don't worry, I doubt they'd say "oh we don't have the rights for real trucks???? guess they can't transform" haha
Yeah, but that'd be really strange for them to look exactly like the G1 transformers in robot mode and then transform into vehicle modes that are completely new.
If that was the case, I don't think they would go for G1 at all. It'd be easier to do one of the newer cartoons that don't have real world vehicle modes.
So either, they found a way to get the vehicle modes in... or there is no transforming. That's my guess anyways.

At the end of the day it's a licensed Activision game. I'm sure the artists were inspired by G1 but most people would probably not bat an eye if Optimus just goes "whoosh" and wraps up into a generic red and blue semi truckYeah, but that'd be really strange for them to look exactly like the G1 transformers in robot mode and then transform into vehicle modes that are completely new.

The vehicle modes in the cartoon were never exact copies of their real life counterparts so afaik Hasbro never paid any licensing costs for the vehicles in the cartoon. As long as the vehicle modes look somewhat cartoony they can easily get away with the G1 vehicle modes.Yeah, but that'd be really strange for them to look exactly like the G1 transformers in robot mode and then transform into vehicle modes that are completely new.

If Rockstar can get away with that without infringing copyright, I'm sure Activision/Platinum can mock up some convincing almost-but-not-quite Lamborghinis and Freightliners.

A reminder that Metacritic means jack shit.
Transformers are minuscule compared to most mecha, anyway, so they have much more of an excuse. Even Devastator would be smaller than many mobile suits, let alone any super robot! Furthermore, they're autonomous beings, which means no lag from pilot reaction / input times.
Looks awesome.
