DRIVECLUB new tracks tease for 2016

Yeah, this is actually a good idea. This game needs to come back into the spotlight, especially if they're not planning a sequel and are going to stick to a service based model for this game. Reviewers won't update their scores of the original, which is understandable, the reviews were fair for when the game released. But the game at this point is significantly improved. Launching a new edition of the game could get the game a lot of the attention that it deserves at this point.

When they complained about it not being original because it was not open world like other racers are nowadays... no, they were not fair. The complaints you read online after launch were mostly about online problems the reviewers did not face.
Still, the game played offline was still very satisfactory and once the weather update hit and more and more people were able to play online they could see what the deal was about.

People seem pretty convinced that it's the R34. Great addition to the game for sure.

Yeah, it's the V-Spec. The hood is the giveaway

If I buy the season pass will I get all the content in this game or are there things the pass does not include?

There are cars that it does not include. I believe you get all events though... and tracks are always free for everyone and automatically get patched in I believe.

Bikes is also a separate package outside of the Season Pass.

My understanding is that the cars that are on sale separately are unlockable through gameplay otherwise paying just allows then to be used sooner.
Essentially the season pass includes everything released so far other than the boosters.

No. The first season pass ended in July I believe. They have put out a few cars since then that aren't included.
They've been free though, haven't they? Either as a free expansion or unlockable through normal play. Only the bikes expansion has been paid, and even the DLC for that has been free so far.

If you have the game and the season pass, you get all the cars released so far. Some have to be unlocked via tours or fame.

Chances we'll get new tracks/environments next month?

Pretty good, they have given teaser shots of a city location.

Fairly certain that is not correct. I have season pass and there are a number of cars I must buy separately on the store if I want them.

Edit: Everything I see...

That's what I was getting at. I'm just not sure if we can expect those city tracks that early. For some reason I had it in my head it may be a surprise E3 announcement or something.

Hoping for new tracks next month!

Yah, I don't think they would have teased something to be revealed at E3 this early... would make much more sense for the Feb update IMO.

All cars can be obtained for free (assuming you have a Season Pass). Some of them may require some grinding, but that's it (like reaching certain accolade level for a certain manufacturer or a certain overall level).

Edit: The bonus cars & bikes will still have a price in the PS Store after you've unlocked them in the game, but that's just how this service works. Be careful about what you're buying. :)

As has been said above me, these are just purchasable shortcuts. You can unlock all of these cars by playing the game. It even says so for the two Mercedes in the store description.

Ferrari LaFerrari - Complete Level 5 of Ferrari Manufacturer Accolade
Renault R.S. 01 - Reach Driver Level 66
Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupe - Complete the Mercedes-Benz Owners Club Accolade Level 6
Mercedes-AMG GT3 - Complete the AMG Trophy Event in the AMG Expansion Pack

The only thing so far that you don't get with the season pass or free updates is the Driveclub Bikes expansion and the EBR livery pack.

Pretty sure two of those are Edinburgh based. Would be so cool to see. I reckon they'll fit in with the existing countries the game features. I hope they're actually based off real road layouts in real cities rather than a generic fantasy like the other tracks. PGR managed to create some amazing tracks out of real world locations.

Edinburgh was my first thought too! As a born and bred Edinburgh native I'd love to see the city in a game again.

Screaming down the mound onto Princes St in PGR2 is an all time gaming highlight for me!

Is there a lot to do in this game progression wise? I tried it once when it was free and it was pretty and kinds fun though I didn't put enough time into it to get a good handle of the driving. It's pretty cheap on plan right now, could get it.

It's a game I recommend to anyone with a PS4. Getting a handle on the driving model doesn't take long at all, it does a good job of making all the cars handle very distinctively considering it's a simulation-arcade hybrid leaning heavily onto the arcade side with a ton of assists, the progression of going from hatchbacks to hypercars is handled in a very palpable way and track variety is not a problem, considering we've even got a new environment coming now. I have the platinum and I'm still playing it a bunch. The season pass and bikes expansion are must-haves too as far as I'm concerned.
The only problems I have with the game are 30FPS and the inability to turn off assists, neither of which seem to bother most players.

You should probably get it.

Yes, there is a massive amount of tours, challenges and unlocks. At the price it is now, with all the content of the Season Pass, this game is the by far the best deal out there.
