I went to Hooters. Strictly for the wings. The wings were pretty crappy. The iced tea was OK. But other than that, nothing to write home about. Actually I went twice, to one in VA and the one in downtown DC because it was the only thing open on that street at the time. If the food had been any good...we're talking worse than Shoney's. It was always a friend who suggested it. The second time it was girls who suggested it.

probably about the same as a regular waitress except for sports nights. i know two former hooters girls, after hooters one worked in a hotel bar while the other went to boston pizzas lounge. both made substantially more than they did at hooters. i reckon people think if the hooters waitress is flirty it's part of the act and expected. at another place it's considered going the extra mile.

It's an honest arrangement. You go to those places, eat satisfying food, drink, be loud, watch sports and flirt with the attractive women in hot outfits. Flirting with attractive women is never not rewarding on some level--even in contrived situations like cleavage restaurants. Leave a nice tip, everyone involved is happy. You don't have to pretend you're not looking at her tits or talk to her as if she were a nun.
I don't go too often, but if I was guy in his mid 40s married, with kids, places like these would serve as a nice 3 hour getaway a couple times a months.

I have no issue with them, but, I always feel weird when all my friends are hitting on the unattractive big titted blond waitress and I'm not. The second my friends see a girl with huge tits, even if her face is a train wreck they try to to hit on her.

I went to Hooters when I was in Toronto years ago. From what I remember the wings and poutine were all really, really tasty and not overly priced. And the girls were nice and friendly but not too over the top.
I haven't been to either of the Hooters over here in the UK, I hope to at some point though.

I've noticed all the local sports bars and pubs trying to get in on this as well. Short skirts, super tight tshirts that show cleavage, it's everywhere.
I'm not complaining.
Back before we were hitched, my wife worked at Jillian's in Boston as a bartender, often times during Sox games. She'd roll out in ass-pants and a tight t-shirt, and when I'd pick her up she (more than once) had over $400 in hand.

Hooters had a great idea but their food is too generic for the premium that they charge to look at hotties. The Hofbräuhaus near me I guess could be considered in this category. They don't wear as skimpy clothing, but they seem to only hire hot staff and those German outfits are pretty damn sexy. Also their German food, beer, and live music makes it a totally unique experience. Hooters needs to differentiate itself from normal bar food in this manner.

The best way I see places like this, it is "Half assed"
Half assed, because when you go to places like this, you will get half assed service, half assed sincerity, fake smiles, forced friendliness, and needless to say half assed quality food.
It's like a strip club, minus the stripping, minus the lap dance and (maybe) plus the greasy food.
So why bother?
Why not go to a restaurant or a bar, that has quality food and genuine service as their priority? Even if that genuine service is coming from a 60 year old good hearted, overweight lady with a bad case of the gout.
Then after the good food and the game, hit up a strip club and get a nasty lap dance or a quality bj, if that is your fancy.
You may say there's nothing sincere about a stripper giving you a lap dance, but at least you know exactly what you are getting for what you're paying.
