If they just cut out the beanie and give him this guys hair Delsin would look great.
The hair didn't mater. It was changing the entire facial structure.
what isn't douchie to you people?
What do people even mean when they say Delsin or the beanie is 'douchie'?
Seems like one of the most vapid criticisms I've ever heard.
Im a tattooist and i felt alienated for years when characters didn't have tattoo's.I still hate the design for this character, because I absolutely can't stand tattoos. They should make that crap optional, I find it very annoying that it is becoming more commonplace.
The whole tattoo thing totally ruined Cole in inFamous 2 and Jason in FarCry 3 for me (aesthetically). I find it ironic that many game designers are trying to incorporate different types of characters in their game so more people can be included, but they don't mind alienating those of us who have a dislike of certain things on their protagonist. I can't wait for all video game protagonists to have piercings through their face.
They look similar enough to me, especially when you consider the art change from inFamous 1 and 2.

Seemingly anything different or unique is considered "douchie". Its seems like most people just want a generic design.
IMO, a character should look visually distinct so I prefer this concept Delsin over beanie Delsin.
Those sneakers are douchier than the beanie. He has a fucking bandana tied around his right shoe for no reason.

I....... AM TUROK.
One of the reasons for the change is probably the fact thatproperly rendering and animating long hair is one of the worst nightmares for game developers, and most simply avoid it altogether.

I have the feeling they went with beanies because hair physics is a bitch.
It's kind of old school. What really looks dumb is whatever is wrapped around his waist. Not cool
Yeah it looks like that ridiculous 90s look of tying a sweater around your waist.
I....... AM TUROK.
I like this only because that would mean Troy Baker wouldn't be voicing him.
Good thing there are intelligent, articulate people on this board to address my post.
I honestly think they gave him a beanie because its less resource intensive and they wouldn't have to worry about the physics/TressFX for it. Look at how much attention Tomb Raider got for Lara's hair. The same reason many games go for the helmeted look on enemies ala Killzone. Faces and hair are hard to get exactly right and are quite obvious when they are off.
Game looks amazing, so I'm glad they used the resources where they felt it mattered more.
