Maybe the librarian was out for lunch and therefor couldnt hush at anyone, so everyone could talk at normal noise level.
It won't as Nintendo can't ship that many(unless they ignore the other regions completely, wich they won't) my guess is 2.5m.

2.5 is what they're already on track to ship without any increase. 2.5 not counting what they already sold in March might be more like it.
If the report about 16M production target this FY is true, should get close to 4M.
I definitely think the level of success caught even them by surprise.

I am not sure how much it will broaden DQ's young audience, however recently Kanna and Aki two of the most well known young girls on the Japanese youtube (they do product 'reviews' of toys) have started doing live broadcasts of them playing DQ (smartphone version) but not on their main channel.

Im thinking maybe there's been another shipment of 75K but demand is so high that they're still going the lottery route over the weekend.

The biggest surprise this week is the PS4, pretty impressive bump for seemingly no reason. It looked like it was going to see some very low HW sales during the slow period but that's a pretty good sign.
Disappointing switch sales though still impressive of course. Was hoping to see 100K+ which was pretty optimistic. Hopefully the lotteries aren't a sign of sales dropping straight back to 40-50K. I thought they would at least have more for GW. Wonder when they will actually manage to increase shipments or if they're just waiting for demand to slow down instead of risking a wii U situation.

They will, but it might take some time. Nintendo is increasing the production of Switch units from 8 million to 16 million.

MC website will probably update already on Monday 8th. And give the usual report for the follow week on Friday 12th. That's what they did during New Year Holidays.
4gamer, the site that shares MC numbers on Wednesday, probably will give two charts the 10th (the first one already useless).

Except Switch this looks like another weak Golden Week. Retailer blogs had given hints for this weeks ago and it was kinda expected. Hardware will take the biggest hit after holidays. Vita is already dead and PS4 with 3DS will dive below 20k. Switch is the only interesting thing to watch and see how strong demand remains at a slow period.
Do you think we'll actually see *initial* demand met before we reach the slow weeks? Or will the pent up demand end up propping up the slow weeks so that we cannot actually see any decline due to the supply issues.
I guess, in a lot of ways, I could just be saying: "Does it look like demand will be met yet?" Occam's razor says 'no'.

My guess would be that, seeing as some (many?) retailers are doing raffles still, there isn't an end to the demand in sight just yet.
Next week marks the beginning of slow summer period. We'll know soon if demand for Switch is still strong and it depends at what Nintendo shipped this week.
When supply met demand for Wii it fell at 20k range quickly but it also had a software drought. It's not the same with Switch. If it stays at 30-40k until Splatoon, even in the case of available stock, it won't have a problem at least until December.

Minecraft having a late physical release will hurt first week sales
I mean if you wanted Minecraft you'd have downloaded it by the time it gets a physical release. So I am not sure it is going to be pushing as large a number as 150K

I had hard time picturing PS4 and 3DS falling under 20k during GW though Chris? I mean even the worst condition, they should see some number increase with other Nintendo game being leg suspect right?

considering mario kart just launched and splatoon isn't far away, im sure switch will stay out of stock until the end of the year, especially if nintendo is only supplying sub 100k on important events, eg mk8/splatoon/gw weeks
