NeoGAF E3 2014 Summary Thread

It's funny - that's exactly what I was thinking.

People were trying to tell me Panic Mode Nintendo doesn't exist. Imo, they do, and this underlines it a bit. Insane amount of high quality content in the pipe for Wii U, and they're pretty much holding the enterprise up on their own two shoulders.

I guess the thing is, I just don't see how this is different from prior years. They were derided over the years during conferences in which they revealed Super Mario Galaxy 2, DKCR, a Golden Sun sequel, (which, granted, didn't quite live up to expectations) a new take Metroid, (which also didn't live up to expectations) Bayonetta 2, a new Kamiya game, a sequel to X, a crossover between SMT and Fire Emblem, SM3DW, Tropical Freeze, and on and on.

They don't have the third party support, but, then again, that's never been the highlight of a Nintendo show. As far as I can tell, this isn't panic mode Nintendo; it's just Nintendo operating as usual, and, as a PC owner who couldn't care less how these third party games look on the PS4 or XB1, that's fine by me.

2015 is going to be awesome, but I'm a bit disappointed with the lineup for the rest of 2014.

After watching Nintendo's conference I think I'm gonna pick up a wii u soon to join my ps4 and XB 1. Great stuff on the horizon.

Thanks Amir0x, great work on this.

I've been so glued to the Treehouse Live stream since yesterday, haven't actually been following any of the other news to come out. :lol

This E3 (Pretty much of Nintendo), brought me back to my childhood. I am so giddy to play all of the games Nintendo showed via the Treehouse Live among other things.

I own all 3 consoles, but can say with certainty that the Wii U and 3DS will be getting the most of my playtime.

Great thread. I don't know if it had been mentioned yet (or if I can post it here?) but here is a site I found on reddit which is quite well made : http://www.e3recap.com/

Of course and as usual, the best source for quality videos is Gamersyde (glorious 1080p / 60 fps Nintendo videos) but I really like the way this one is organized (if there is a better recap site I would like the address please).

Also I think it's the best place to ask this so here I go : is there a list of every system exclusives releasing in 2014 / 2015 ?
I don't have enough time to play all the games I buy so I'll probably sell PS Vita and maybe Xbox One (keeping PS4, Wii U and 3DS).

Thanks GAF for all the good work during this E3 !

Nice OP. Good link source.

Is there somewhere that lists all the media "Best of E3" awards? A search only brings up each media outlet's choice, and there's a whole crapload of them. I'd like to see a list of all the award winners.

Don't know where to post this but traffic is low-ish now so I wanted to bring attention to this. Polygon interviews Jack Tretton for 21 minutes and we get so much more detail than we ever saw during the Spike TV stuff. He even accidentally breaks NDA (me thinks it's not just a fumble) and says the Vita is $170. Stuff about watching press conferences live, why he didn't renew his contract, where the industry is moving and has moved, it's very extensive. I must watch.

IGN also did a Brohei Broshida interview that's rather extensive and they poke and prode at him, Greg pokes at Colin rather unsubtly about the The Last Guardian screw up, he talks about the intricacies of video game timing and new and old IP revival (Patapon,Locoroco), and how Sumo games told him they didn't want him to play during the LBP3 stage demo. Less of a much watch but still recommended.

Maybe I (or anyone else) should post a thread about interviews and other good videos that got lost in the E3 shuffle.

I'd actually love that. If you ever get around to it, let me know!

thanks for those videos. the "broshida" interview was a lot more interesting than the tretton one, but i think that's because crecente didn't ask a whole lot of interesting questions.

I didn't know where to post this:
