It's also their first in-game trailer. Most of the footage is taken straight from replays. At least it's honest

Codemasters? You've got to be kidding me. Dirt Rally is the only good game they've put out for a very very long time. And don't get me started on how they are wasting the F1 license.

Not impressed with the visuals, looks like the updated tracks (Nurburgring, etc) received a GT6 Suzuka style upgrade but were held back for GT6 PS4

I wanna hear from a guy that also plays iRacing, Assetto Corsa and rFactor, if the handling / tyre and suspension model has improved judging from the force feedback ...and how much and in what direction.
If some people with a lot experience from other sims say that it feels great and much improved over GT6, I could probably(maybe) forget about the sound.

Yeah, I'd imagine a proper trailer would accompany GT7, This is more like a run down of what to expect in a get something out the door before the gen is half over edition. I just hope the sounds will be changed at final release.

Yeh the driving model and how much flexibility you have in setting up races to your liking will make or break this for me. If they could somehow marry Forza and PCars they would have a perfect racing game IMO.

PD really can't win, what you see right there has to be one of the most honest trailers I have ever seen. In effect PD said fuck it and uploaded a replay video directly from the PS4 so that people don't claim "bullshot", but apparently now it's too real.

But where do you get the good handling and force feedback from then?
pCARS still feels crappy in 85% of the cars to me no matter what force feedback tweaks I try. Forza never had sophisticated feedback that "felt" good (it's very functional in the sense of "feedback to make you drive better" way though). The ISI sims (rF2, R3E, AMS) have the FFB feel I want (never tried iRacing though).

Don't talk to me about FFB. I haven't had a wheel since I moved country a couple of years ago. It's been almost 3 years and I'm still trying to convince my wife that it won't be an eyesore in our relatively small apartment

What I'm thinking of GT Sport as is not quite the first mainline entry, but close, and GT7 (if it actually comes out, rather than updates being made to GT Sport for the rest of the gen), despite being the first mainline (numbered) entry this gen, would actually be closer to a 2nd mainline entry of the gen.

Some wheel company should get together with wheelstand pro or playseat or whoever to make something that remembers your preferred position (like "CLICK!") and can easily be folded away with wheel and pedals on it.Don't talk to me about FFB. If it takes more than 2 minutes and can't be put in a broom closet, it just doesn't cut it. No idea, why these companies don't get it.

Yeh I had a wheelstand pro back in the UK but her beef was that I never used to fold it away so it was always up in the second bedroom when I wasn't using it. I just couldn't be asked to fold it away and then set it back up again at the correct heights/angles when I wanted to use it. She's scared that I won't fold it away if I get another one so it will end up just left up in our living room... She has a point lol.

Quite interesting. Both screens are from the Nurburgring, both between Wehrseifen and Hohe Acht.
When I looked at the first one I thought, ok, the scale of the Nordschleife exacts it's toll, but the second one looks right out of another game. Maybe photo mode?

So looks like photomode is getting a major upgrade and there's now what looks to be a custom livery system ala Forza.
I really don't know what to think about GT any more, and will reserve judgment until its out in the wild and we get a real sense of its performance and substance.

Photomode never changed anything besides image quality in previus games... and even if it starts swapping model now, that would be too drastic.
Trailer footage must be from an old build or something.

If they knew they'd have to put up a "gameplay" trailer with WIP footage and placeholder assets... Why even put up a trailer or a reveal event now? It's not like PD are on a constant hurry to release their content

wtf? no. gameplay trailers are fine. in-game engine trailers are fine too, long as its stated in the trailer that it isnt actual gameplay. in either case, if the game looks bad or unimpressive then expect people to call it how they see it. or should we swoon over it simply because its PD? sorry, as someone whos been playing GT since its first inception on the ps1 its clear (to me at least) that GT fell off years ago.
