Haha.
Probably retooling the line for SNES Classic.
I wonder if it being hacked has anything to do with this. Ugh. Glad I got one.
Because they want you to buy a Switch or a 3DS, where you can pay for VC titles. They make much more money that way, and create an install base for most other titles, so in short they don't want you to buy an NES classic when there is a Switch you should be buying.I can't understand it.
The damn thing sells out in minutes, but Nintendo discontinues it because....?????
To have something to sell during the holidays and beef up their numbers for the fiscal year. What was the point of this product?
My theory is the Virtual Console will be using similar features and layout to the Classics, so keeping classics as a limited series with occasional reprints is probably what they wanted to do all along.
Bump Nintendo sales numbers for Q4 2016 when they lacked any relevant consoles or games to sell other than Pokémon. What was the point of this product?
It was pretty clear this was intended to be a holiday 2016 item and that's it. I don't get the clamor over it either. I see virtually zero value in it unless you just really wanna play a handful old NES games for $60.
I am guessing they want to focus on the switch and 3DS going forward. In terms of manufacturing and shipping.Did Nintendo make a loss on this or something? I have no idea why they're discontinuing this.
I think I'll hold off on a Switch purchase. Only want it for Zelda. I can wait a few years and buy one used. I'm not going to support a company well that actively dislikes its fans. Why support Nintendo at all?
Scalpers are going to open up their own company now.
