Titanfall 2 is the title I'm most interested in sales wise. We could make a prediction round and this time we will probably get an accurate sales number since Chart-Track will tell us how it will do compared to Titanfall because I want to think that it will have a bigger debut :p

Expecting BF1 to fall around 300-350k, WW1 is a fresh setting, but not as desirable as modern/futuristic. The marketing campaign is big though, so that may push it.

Also holy shit at some of those CoD numbers, this series used to be absolutely huge at retail. Wonder if the decline will continue or not, I think it may open a bit higher than BLOPS3, but who knows.

Titanfall 2 could do really well if it was coming out at the right time, but it's going to be absolutely suffocated being released inbetween two higher profile military shooters like Battlefield of CallaDutty. EA said some months back that they're weren't worried about releasing B1 and T2 in such close proximity, but I said it was a bad decision then and I stick by it.

What do you guys expect in terms of console split?

Previous timed exclusives from EA like PvZ would indicate that Xbone should be comfortably in front, but lately Xbone software seems to be in the shitter, and even a year late port (from a franchise traditionally associated with PlayStation) manages to be within a spitting distance of the Xbone SKU.

So I really don't know how it's gonna go.

MS (US) PR:
“Thanks to our fans, Xbox One was the best-selling console in September in the U.S. for the third month in a row according to NPD Group as well as the best-selling console in September in the U.K. according to GfK Entertainment UK. In addition, Xbox One was the only gen eight console to see year-over-year growth in September in the U.S., Australia, the U.K., and many other countries worldwide.

Wonder what those other countries are. But PS4 is probably down as a lot of people wait for the Pro.

How is the hype for Battlefield 1? I can't gauge if it is in the same level as Star Wars Battlefront, lower or higher. It should easily have a much bigger launch than Battlefield 4 but I don't know if it will be able to match than of Battlefield 3.

I'm not positive Titanfall can outdo it's predecessor first week. I'm not feeling anything at all from it TBH. There's no hype/people talking/exclusive marketing that's pushing it. Being sandwiched in between 2 of the biggest FPS out there isn't where they should be releasing it. It would fare far better in a March release frame like the original. Looks like EA killed a good potential franchise on both occasions.

My predictions
Battlefield 1 - 350k
Titanfall 2 - 80k
IW - 550k.

Think I'm even underselling BF1.. wouldn't be surprised if it smashes BF3. Game is gonna be massive. Also sadly think I might be aiming a bit high on TF2.

MS probably had most of the reason why titan fall was successful. Now that its multi platform they don't care about it.

Agree. Titanfall 1 marketing push was fucking insane. MS got behind that as if it was Halo.

As a publisher i would imagine they want a return on their investment right? Like nothing about this makes any sense.

Battlefield 1: 475K
Titanfall 2: 100K
CoD:IW: 650K

What makes you think TF2 is gonna do that much better than TF1?

PS4 version + Early review embargo, the later usually means they're expecting good Metacritic scores.

I would have expected +250K if it wasn't for the negative beta reception.

The early review embargo is definitely interesting, after the reception to the beta + no ea access trial, you'd think they'd want to leave it as late as possible. They must be confident as hell in the single player.

Saying that, I don't believe the reviews will help it that much at this point. I feel like if the single player is amazing, it'll become another Doom where it sells well over time after some price drops through word of mouth but the first week takes a hit.

250k+ if the beta reception was good sounds about what I'd say too

Edit: Fuck I forgot. Titanfall 2 comes out on a Friday, so only 3 days of tracking. Titanfall 1 came out on a Tuesday. Might be worth taking into consideration. I feel like I should lower my already low prediction now lol.

I'm confident in Battlefield 1 having a better debut than Star Wars Battlefront but I don't know if it will be as big as Fallout 4 (482,000) which is the highest selling week one game in the UK excluding Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty and FIFA series.

Regarding Titanfall 2 I still refuse to believe that it will have a worse launch than the first title but it is true that there are reasons to be pessimistic. Amazon sales are horrible, the PS4 SKU is currently behind World of Final Fantasy.

My predictions:

[Week 42, 2016] BATTLEFIELD 1 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 260,000
[Week 43, 2016] TITANFALL 2 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 65,000
[Week 44, 2016] CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 605,000

My predictions.

Battlefield 1: 450k
Titanfall 2: 150k
CoD Infinite Warfare: 600k

Basically I'm expecting both EA shooters combined to equal CoD this year.

My final predictions. Changed BF1 up and TF2 down a lil.

Battlefield 1 -430k
Titanfall 2 - 70k
IW - 550k.

Honestly not expecting much from TF2 at all. Happy to be proven wrong but I think it'll fall flat on its face.

Battlefield Won

24/Oct/2016

EA knock themselves off the top spot with the highly anticipated ‘Battlefield 1’ debuting at No1 (PS4, Xbox One and PC).

The Battlefield series, developed by Digital Illusions has been around since 2002’s PC only ‘Battlefield 1942’ and the current release is a definite return to form, outselling the combined week 1 sales units of the previous 2 versions (‘Battlefield 4’ in 2013 and ‘Battlefield Hardline’ in 2015). ‘Battlefield 1’ week 1 sales units are just under the amount generated by Ubisoft’s week 1 for ‘Tom Clancy The Division’ back in week 10 this year. EA’s ‘FIFA 17’ drops to No2 after 3 successive weeks at No1 (-36%) and 2K/Take 2 remain at No3 with ‘Mafia III’ (-59%). Microsoft drop 2 places to No4 with ‘Gears of War 4’ (-76%). The second highest new entry at No5 is Warner’s PS4 and Xbox One ‘Batman: Return to Arkham’.

There are 2 other new releases within the Top40: debuting at No15 is 2K/Take 2’s ‘Civilization VI’ for PC and debuting at No19 is Warner’s ‘Lego Harry Potter Collection’ on PS4.

Battlefield 1 is close to 277,000 which is what Tom Clancy's The Division sold in its launch week. I expected way more.

1. Battlefield < 277,000
2. Fifa 17 - 67,000
3. Mafia III - 22,550
4. Gears of War 4 (First week < 94,000)

I'd better change my Titanfall 2 prediction haha.
