PAL Charts - Week 46, 2015

i dunno what MS must be thinking right now. those are not the results they were looking for with 2 of their biggest games this holiday. if i'm not wrong fallout 4 (ps4) > halo 5 + rise of tomb raider combined.

do you know how much Microsoft paid? saying it was a mistake without knowing if MS covered all sales they lost, how do you know it was a mistake?

Ms paid for one game that bombed. That's how you fucked a franchise. Next game game people will have no interest in buying it than tomb Raider is dead.
Then you will tell me if this moneyhat worth it

hmm, well Halo 5 is believed to be around 150,000 and TR is 57,600 so that's 207,600 approx for both. Fallout is 482,000 and PS4 is 53% well 50% is 241,000 so yes, yes it did.

It's still coming out on PC and its still coming out on PS4 eventually. Launching it now is a bad time even if it was on all consoles. But if they launch it on PS4 next year with all the DLC thrown in at $40 I don't think it'll hurt the brand in the grand scheme of things.

Nobody will give a shit about a year old port in the busiest release time next year.

Tomb Raider did better than I expected. I was around 7 or 8.

I hope SE use the puppy dog eyes and try and get the game out early. June would be nice holding out any longer will hurt the title more. Mass Effect Andromeda and Final Fantasy XV out around the same time will kill the game further.

Fallout breakdown was a surprise, I thought it would be closer with early mod support and green Fallout 3 would have made a difference.

Halo is shocking third week and already in 10th. It shows how much COD has grown.

Only 9 PS4 games in comparison to 15 XBO games?

is XBO moving more hardware lately or are they bundling more these days?

MS sucked at exploiting their marketing deals. Destiny, Battlefront, and BLOPS the commericals let you know the PS4 is the home of the series. As well as special bundles and consoles.

Fallout had a great commercial, but no Xbox tie end. And TR's commercial was pretty meh.

CD must be pissed at SE. I hope they got their bonus based on metacritic, not of unit sold, that's the publisher's job and they fucked up

Honestly, I'm almost certain CD was at the heart of this deal. They've been extremely cozy with MS since last gen, and I'd not be at all surprised if this deal were something the studio heads were heavily involved in making it happen.

I'm half expecting heads to roll over at CD because of this debacle. It was obvious that this was a stupid fucking deal from the moment it was announced.

COD is dying from a slow death, Is Destiny will be the COD of this generation ? it looks like it for now.

Black Ops 3 tracking below Advanced Warfare? Did not see that coming.

AW was at 910,200 after 12 days, while BO3 is at 908,000 after 9 days. Unless sales are so frontloaded that we'd expect those extra 3 days to contribute just 2,200 units total then BO3 isn't really tracking below AW.

We'll get a better idea next week as the significance of launching later in the week lessens and the sales pattern normalises.

I would not start drawing trends through a single point yet?

I agree with you but 2 years in the new generation and I don't see any other contender yet ? the biggest flaw from Destiny was it's story telling when TKK really improve on it, I'm sure the next expansion will be even better.

Jeez, looks like i was seriusly the only guy who expected Advanced Warfare > Black Ops III...

Imo, i was sure to see another COD decline.
You should take a closer look to what has been written. BO3 sold 2000 units less in 9 days compared to the 12 days of AW. So it definitely sold better.

The comparison doesn't look good for Black Ops III. Activision's PR said that retail sales are significant up but doesn't seem to be the case in UK.

Maybe in US is doing better, we will know in the next month.

I'm thinking that Sonys excellent marketing for SW and CoD took away most of the hype for Halo and TR this holiday.
EDIT. And Destiny is the go to game for alot of ppl this gen.
