god i love that movieNeoGAF
I've seen things- tweets, interviews, blog posts.
He doesn't use any of it for popularity, but I've found it hidden online.

It's misdirection - he leaves those things lying around to make you think he might not be a character.
NeoGAF
All the time? He doesn't know when I'm looking-

All the time, NeoGAF- that's who he is, that's what it takes- he lives his act, don't you see?!
The divide seems to be some people only have empathy for people they like.
I read a great paper once about how "Art is inherently political". How you can't create something without their being politics of some kind intrinsic to the thing you have created. I believe film was the focus of the essay but it was designed to apply to all art/media.
All of these idiots raging about how they don't want feminists and SJW's "injecting politics into games" - games are already political. The 99% prevalence of straight white dudebros is political. You're just being made aware of a different side of the political spectrum. You're not keeping politics out of games - in fact, your righteous indignation is just as political.

I don't get why anonymity is so valued and/or necessary for online discussion. I'd prefer it if everyone was forced to use their real names.

I still can't see how it is so necessary for people to mention how much they dislike Fish when discussing the hacking.
That's a great point.

Speak for yourself.I think that we inherently are OK when "bad" things happen to people that we define as bad.
Not saying that it's right, just admitting that it happens.
Haha, that was pretty good. What's your real name?
Edit: That probably backfired, I think you have it in your profile hahaha. Well you're certainly consistent.

The guy's a loose cannon.
I agree on both accounts, which is why I was pointing it out: to put it bluntly when people write "he's an asshole but he doesn't deserve it", either they're adding an irrelevant judgement or they're insincere.I think that we inherently are OK when "bad" things happen to people that we define as bad.

and i think most peoples definition of 'bad' is extremely loose.
Nothing comes to mind. Definitely not for anything serious.BS! Are you saying that you've never felt even a little good when bad karma catches up with someone?
I'm not saying that him being doxxed is acceptable in anyway, but I will admit that I would more upset if someone like Keanu Reeves was doxxed than I would be about Rush Limbaugh being doxxed.
Do you honestly think so?Without a doubt.
The new generation is about privileges...
casual games like candy crush saga and not innovative hardcore games like Call of Duty 9: Shoot more Arabs
And he deserves vigilante retribution because...?
Abortions!Like what? What privileges do you feel feminists are unjustly asking for?
I'm learning so many words and acronyms that I never used before but see spread all over the place today. Doxxing, SJW, and now Misandry; I didn't even know there was a term for that until now.

He doesn't. That doesn't mean that he had it coming though. People can easily be offended on the Internet. Saying all the stuff he did just offended a group of people who then took it a bit too far.And he deserves vigilante retribution because...?
First of all it doesn't exist, second of all game design isn't political. You're grasping. The 99% prevalence of straight white dudebros is political.

This gif is pretty fucking terrible. It dismisses misandry in the same way most would dismiss misogyny. Both are issues. One being a "bigger" issue doesn't make the other any less real.
I've learned that misogyny just means doing anything that doesn't directly support feminist agenda. Make a game with white male protaganist? Misogony.I'm learning so many words and acronyms that I never used before but see spread all over the place today. They're not grasping, they're correct. Politics does not equate intentionally spreading an agenda. A person's politics influences a great deal of what they do.
This is the second time I've read this analogy in this thread. What do Phil Fish and the WBC have in common? Why are you comparing both situations, when they are nothing alike?Imru al-Qays;126764000 said:He doesn't deserve it. Doesn't mean I feel bad for him. This is like if someone hacked the Westboro Baptist Church's bank accounts and took all their money. Did they deserve it? No. Would I give a flying fuck? No.
Except that that has happen a shit load, lol. Plenty have people have tried to claim that it is racist to make a protaganisst white and sexist for it to be male. Chastising developers for not including different races for characters ia effectively the same as asking for less representation.Nobody has ever claimed the bolded. Nobody has ever asked for white males to be unrepresented in video games.
You're defining politics to be so generic that it means...anything people do. I shouldn't have to bust out the dictionary here. Politics specifically involves political ideologies and influencing other people.

It depends on how you interpret it I guess.
For me it's not just about the word displayed. It's about the graphic. There are people who believe gender equality has already arrived and any further movement is "going too far."
It doesn't dismiss misandry. It's saying people say feminists are going too far because they want some privilege too. The person on the right gets three scoops. The person on the left gets one, and then the accusations of "going too far" start being thrown around.
Which happens often. Even here on NeoGAF, though this forum is more progressive than others.
The notion that feminism is no longer needed and equality was reached in the 80's and modern feminists are going to far is pretty ridiculous.
