The PS4 isn't dead. I have to hold the power button down for like 15 seconds, it boots back into Safe Mode, restarts like regular. But I've had to do this multiple times just in the last week.

Oh I see. So there's some really weird software shenanningans going on. Isn't this the kind of vulnerability that hackers might use? It needs to be patched asap.

I'm sorry to bump this thread but i think that the 4.5 update fixed the shutdown/rest mode issues. Played a couple of times with boost mode enabled and my system has shut down properly each time. I havent tried suspending the app but its a start.

My PS4 original did this for months in 2014. Pretty annoying. It went away/was fixed via update eventually.
