At least that means people are continuing to use their consoles.
What an incredible accomplishment.
At least that means people are continuing to use their consoles.
That quote isn't from MS. That's something Gamespot added.
Why is she demolishing those nuts?
jfc
Microsoft said 2017 is off to a "strong start" for the Xbox One as the number of hours players spent playing games on the console grew 21 percent year-over-year.
Sure, why not?
Lol these guys cant stand getting beaten by Sony every month. they thought they had the momentum last year and then Sony released the Pro and got those extra sales that pushed them over the edge. And they cannot believe that they wont have an answer to the pro until fall.Additionally, Xbox One sales grew year-over-year in January, something that cannot be said for the PS4, according to Microsoft.
You must not have seen their PR statement last month.
Their new PR method seems to try to continuously compare their sales with PS4 sales in a way that makes them seem like they're winning, but at the end of the day, the PS4 is still selling more units.
Additionally, Xbox One sales grew year-over-year in January, something that cannot be said for the PS4, according to Microsoft.
Why? Why would anyone agree to having their balls be a punching bag?Sure, why not?
It should be but Xbox should have been down in January too so who knows. One thing is for sure, software doesn't really matter for Xbox in the U.S. They could literally have no exclusives for years and still do well here.february is going to be a blow out for Sony
They could have sold 1 console more in January of this year compared to last year for all we know.
Their PR statements feel so desperate.
Surprisingly bitter for a piece of MS PR. You'd think they'd be used to losing by now, but it seems like the status quo is actually getting harder for them to handle as time goes on.
Wait NPD is today???
Too much for XB1 S moment lol
MS PR has always been desperate. Difference is that normally they hide it well through their MAU or whatever other statistic they can find. Here, its just so lazy and half-asses that it just reeks of Loser Talk.
Are you sure? Their console has been showing growth the last 8 months compared to the previous year. That's something to be proud of. The one S has been selling well. Throwing in jabs at Sony are whatever.
Mostly for HDMI passthrough, all according to Senjutsu. At least that means people are continuing to use their consoles.
The XB1S is keeping the X1 up YoY regularly, so the momentum is in fact there. PS4, on the flip, has maintained much of its own "momentum" of being down YoY yet again.
It should be but Xbox should have been down in January too so who knows. One thing is for sure, software doesn't really matter for Xbox in the U.S. They could literally have no exclusives for years and still do well here.
They've been down the last 5 or so monthsThey're down YoY in January...after coming off of their most successful holiday period.
It's literally all about how you look at the big picture, which Microsoft doesn't do with these PR statements.

Xbox One S continues to deliver growth. Great model, probably the best Slim console of all time.
Thanks to continued support by our fans, 2017 is off to a strong start as Xbox One game hours grew 21 percent year-over-year, Mike Nichols, corporate vice president of Xbox Marketing, noted in a statement sent to GamesBeat. In addition, in the U.S., Xbox One had its best January to date and was the only eighth generation console that saw growth in January compared to the prior year according to NPD Group. Team Xbox is committed to delivering the best gaming experiences for our fans.

This is the exact quote.

They never mentioned PS4 by name, it was Gamespot who added that blurb about PS4 at the end but people think that's a actual quote from MS. That was my point.
PS4 <230K
XB1 >150K
Lets not over reach it, last January Xbox one sales practically stoped due to end of the firesale of Holiday 2015 so it will be difficult to sell less consoles
They've been down the last 5 or so months
This is a US based thread
In the US they were down last holiday. In fact, PS4 has been down YoY every month since June 2016.They're down YoY in January...after coming off of their most successful holiday period.
It's literally all about how you look at the big picture, which Microsoft doesn't do with these PR statements.
Not even close.Xbox One S continues to deliver growth. Great model, probably the best Slim console of all time.
The 360 S was a godsend. Both saleswise and for the simple fact that it remedied RROD issue.
Hang on, that last bit of PR. I'm understanding XBox sales grew, while PS4's shrank, and they still couldn't beat them?
Not exactly something to be proud of, MicroSoft.
