I still have some OCing to do, 4.4 to 4.6 hopefully, so take your time.

P11817 - 2x Gigabyte GTX580 S0 - 920/1840/1075 - 2500k @ 4.4Ghz - 8GB @ 1600 - Asrock Z68 Ext3 - ScRYeD - Air - Link

I have the same CPU and same Motherboard, 4.8 should be easy for you...dont pussy up, just go for it.
Our motherboards have a lovely "panic" button on the back so if you fail to post just push it and all will be good.

It's currently summer here in Australia, temps are in the mid to high 30's (86+ f) for a couple of months, ambient temp in the room is about the same. So 4.4ghz is as far as i go in summer.

I've got my two 7970's sitting behind me waiting to be installed.

I just turned my comp on this morning to come post on GAF that I'm about to install my two new cards to replace my 6990 + 6970 Trifire. Excited as fuck to put them in and see what I can crank them up to.

Wonder if I'll beat my previous 3D Mark 11 Score of 14,592, considering in most circumstances two 7970's has been beating out two 6990's in Crossfire, I'm hoping so.

Wish me luck boys and girls!

Demolitio is getting my 6970, he's finally going to have a good graphics card! (Technically it's a 6950 unlocked to a 6970 but it's been a hell of a strong card card - XFX).

1300 better than 2x 6990's? Which = 4x 6970's?

Whoa. That's really awesome.

Ok, now OC that RAM to 1650, and go for a 1.2 Ghz core. Your score will skyrocket... remember, these cards are bandwidth-starved.

Updated. Also, got damn @ColonialRaptor

Must resist urge for crossfire 6970s... I think one will hold me over until the 780 arrives.

Just installed my new Gigabyte 7970! Completely stock at the minute, I'll try an OC soon.

Pretty happy with that jump from the 6970, almost 2300 3dMarks™!

OC dat shit. I hit 7000~ 3dmarks with my GTX 570, so I'm guessing with an OC you'll hit almost 9-10k, fuck yeah.

OK, you talked me into it! I just went to the max OC that the CCC allows, I know people are pushing theirs further though.

I did a wee bit of overclocking on my 580s.

P12015 - 2x Gigabyte GTX 580 SOC 1.5GB - 910MHz/2050MHz/stock - 2600K @ 4.5GHz - 8GB @ 1600MHz - Asus P8Z68-V Pro Gen3 - pbouzaid - Closed Water (H80) - Link

I'll probably push the GPU clock up a bit more to see how high these babies can go.

edit: bumped the core clock up by 10 MHz. Broke the 12k mark! Woohoo!

Note: This is a triforce/tri-GPU setup, but have only listed the 5970 as a single card (but all GPUs are running identical speeds).

Don't know if it's been asked, but if we manage to squeeze little bits out here and there, do we just post our results again and mention that's the case? I've only just had the 5970 in for a day or two and haven't quite caught the hang of overclocking it yet, given the different voltages and temps involved compared to my 5850.

I'm not going to be able to hold myself back from running benches on my 7970 tonight. Ugh.

At least I have two 2500K rigs now to make that a non-issue.

You were already in there with that score.

Otherwise updated.

Going to work on putting this in an embedded google docs spreadsheet, but it's going to take a free weekend day and a refill on my adderall prescription.
I don't see mine on the list. I am looking on a phone, but I searched and couldn't find it.

It's nice to see myself at Number 1 and to know that I can push myself further up with a bit of work if someone decides to push themselves over me

Thanks Boob. I think I'm going to need to volt mod my card first, I've never done that before, but apparently these suckers LOVE voltage, so I'll give it to them and see how it goes. I'll try going all the way up to 1.3v like the review Overclocks did.

There seems to be a problem with the voltage reading on the cards. People on HardOCP are reporting that the voltage dips so if you're at 1.3v, it's actually running 1.2v. You can verify this by checking the voltage under load.

Is this thread purely for e-peen results or can we discuss how to get the best scores as well? I'm thinking exactly what to prioritise when oc'ing (CPU/GPU etc.), which drivers to use, impact of certain hardware on results (like system RAM), that sort of jazz.

If not, that's all good!

It's for discussions about what to do to try and improve your score as well for sure.

Thats a pretty good score we need more Tri-Fire rigs for the ladder

As for updates i think its okay to keep updating, however just for sanity's sake if you are gonna be doing alot of small incremental overclocks...maybe you should just keep the links and small updates locally until you reach your sweet spot and then just dump that.

For instance i originally started at 7066...i slowly OC'd till i got to 7200 but even then i didnt post cuz i knew i could get slightly more.
When i finally hit 7300+ i posted again.

Discussion are allowed, we need everyone to be pulling the most from their systems.
I'll keep pushing people to take their K series chips to 4.8+ and every GTX570 better be pushing atleast 900/2100.

So if you need advice and or just feel like chiming in on other peoples overclocks go for it.

I'd like to resubmit my score.

P7417 EVGA GTX 570 2560 MB (963/2220/1.10v) - i5 2500K @ 4.8 Ghz - Corsair 8 GB DDR3 @ 1600 Mhz - P8Z68-V LX - BoobPhysics101 - CM Hyper 212+ Link

Almost 400 points more than last time. Raising my 2500k from 4.5 to 4.8 Ghz and the GTX 570 2.5 GB OC'ing much better than the 1.2 GB GTX 570 definitely helped.

Your RAM OC is too high and is actually lowering your performance. Try going down to 2100-2200. GDDR5 has built in error checking and if the OC is too high and errors occur, it just lowers performance rather than causing artifacts as GDDR3 did.

1.1v is all she can do to get 925 on the core stable. tested increments of memory, 2200 memory gives a 15 point boost over 2100.

Could unlock your BIOS up to 1.2v and try maybe 1.11v or 1.12v. I have thought about doing that but don't want to fry my VRM's and blow up the card.

Thanks! I noticed there was a fair absence of tri-fire setups. I suppose it's not very common for people to drop cash on an awesome dual-GPU and awesome single-GPU card (or three cards).

As for updates i think its okay to keep updating, however just for sanity's sake if you are gonna be doing alot of small incremental overclocks...maybe you should just keep the links and small updates locally until you reach your sweet spot and then just dump that.

Makes sense! It'll take a lot from me to not get too excited every time I increase my score by a teensy bit, but I'll try ;)

Awesome. Just wasn't sure if there was a proper PC thread we should discuss that stuff. My main issue right now is a non-ref 5850 that won't run under load at 900MHz :(

Admittedly, the main reason I was asking was to see whether CPU speed had that much effect on the end score or not. I'd love to try and push for 5GHz (and given my CPU only hits ~63C under load, it's quite possible from a 2500K) but not sure whether it'd be worth the potential stability issues just to get a good score.

This thread is crap, though. I have an awesome score compared to most AND for the hardware I have and I should be stoked, but damn if I don't want to just crack that next big number or spot on the table. This could get expensive ;)

Oh btw, you still need to add my score, too!
