5/10.
It was better than PS4 conference, but that is more telling about how bad both events were rather then how much better this one was.
Better than the PS4 conference?! What?!

At the risk of grossing myself out, this makes the console dangerous for me to own.10/10 because half the console is a vent
It was better than PS4 conference
Who are the 69 folks that rated this a 10?
Yea, the halo TV shit was bogus. I mean, xbots was tuning in but really ms? And the NFL licensing was melodramatic.Rewatching the conference, there wasn't anything bad or cringeworthy about it. They show the console, the controller, the UI some third party games and two exclusives. One of them was a new ip. Call of Duty surprisingly was the best thing and I found the videos relative to it to be entertaining.
Everything outside the conference was a nightmare.

What?
I mean, why do you think that? Did you saw something the rest of the Internet didn't?
Yea, the halo TV shit was bogus. I mean, xbots was tuning in but really ms? And the NFL licensing was melodramatic.
But the Skype, hardware, and kinect presentations was awesome. Not to mention that they announced 15 exclusives within the next year, 8 of which are new ips. 1/10? Gtfo GAF.
So because we should assume its not a core game, we should just ignore the fact that it could possibly be an impressive lineup, thus it isn't variable? Even though all point to megaton games from rare and possibly crackdown 3? KWell, a new IP and an exclusive could also be a casual Kinect game, so that anouncement in itself doesn't say that much just yet about what is actually coming to the system that's interesting to you or me.
What I was actually saying is that they didn't actually announce any games. Thus rating them on a statistic that says nothing about the titles is weird. You know nothing about the scope of the titles. The franchises or developers involved. Or even if they are retail or smaller indie titles. So because we should assume its not a core game, we should just ignore the fact that it could possibly be an impressive lineup, thus it isn't variable? Even though all point to megaton games from rare and possibly crackdown 3? K
Haha, what?Microsoft just shot themselves in the foot.
I don't know how much the rest of you know about hardcore culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is with causals where you can become successful by not focusing on games. If you screw the hardcore over, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the hardcore public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Xbox One, nor will they purchase any of Microsoft's products. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Microsoft has alienated an entire market with their causal nonsense
Microsoft, publicly apologize and turn the Xbox One into a hardcore console or you can kiss your business goodbye.

You didn't even see the games yet, Also, this post is preposterous.Microsoft just shot themselves in the foot.

Do you really believe that ms have no games? LolSo if MS had come out and said "we'll have 100 new games in the first year and they'll all be awesome! " would you have rated the conference even higher? Because for me personally that reads "we have nothing good to show so here are some vague numbers to salivate on!"
Microsoft just shot themselves in the foot.

Why blow its load at the reveal and not e3 three weeks from now?
So we're at the point where showing games, for a games console, at the official televised reveal, is considered "blowing it's load"? That's like showing up for a first date in sweatpants.
MS could have easily showed short clips from half a dozen of these "megaton games" and gotten the buzz going before showing the real treasure chest at E3. It's not blowing your load, it's creating positive excitement and momentum leading up to E3 and the eventual console launch.
Haha, what?
Anyways, I gave it a 4/10.
It was pretty disappointing, but it wasn't end of the world bad. They acheived the hard job of making a worthwhile improvement over the 360 controller, Forza 5 at launch is fantastic news, graphics look proper next-gen, interface stuff is all pretty spiffy, ability to record stuff is good to hear. Content wise, it was worth a 5/10 I think, which still isn't very good, but I couldn't honestly say there weren't interesting things to see and having a next-gen unveiling was always going to be somewhat exciting.
Presentation was awfully dull, though. This drags the score down overall.
I can also give them a bit of credit for having a strategy to get this stuff out of the way now while showing the stuff WE want to see mostly at E3. Doesn't affect the score I gave it, but it affects my overall hype level of the new Xbox, meaning the conference wasn't a total disaster for me as it seems to be for most others.
