Resident Evil 7 Spoiler Thread

I would give capcom major fucking props if they made Chris gay, but knowing how people reacted to Tracer being gay i can only imagine if Chris was.

But i would totally be for it.

The difference being Tracer was kinda random, while Chris is being teased for years.

Ethan gets a message from his wife Mia who's been missing for 3 years. He goes it rescue her, but it turns out she's been infected by something that causes her to shift between her normal self and this crazy monster girl. Crazy Mia cuts off Ethan's hand, and after knocking her out, Ethan himself gets knocked out by Jack Baker.
Ethan wakes up in the Baker's main house, roams around, fights Jack a few times, and eventually makes it out to a different part of the Baker plantation, where he deals with Marguerite. Ethan then has to deal with Lucas trying to kill him in a series of traps, and he finds and frees Mia. Afterwards Ethan encounters Zoe, Jack and Marguerite's daughter who isn't crazy like the rest of them, but is still infected. Zoe has two serums that can cure the infection in people, but Jack Baker comes back super heavily mutated and Ethan is forced to use one of the serums on Jack, who is too far mutated to be cured and dies from the effects.

Ethan then has to pick who to administer the remaining serum to: Mia or Zoe. Either way, Zoe is killed by someone called "Eveline", and Ethan is captured by Eveline. The player then takes control of Mia as she goes to rescue Ethan from a ship that ran aground next to the Baker plantation. Along the way, we learn through documents Mia finds that Eveline is a self-aware BOW bred by a mysterious corporation who was going to sell it to the highest bidder, and that Mia was aboard the ship as some sort of handler for Eveline. Ethan is trapped in some mold and is experiencing some weird shared consciousness that involves all other people infected by the mold, where he has a meeting with Jack Baker, who explains that they took Eveline in, and that she infected them in order to turn them into some twisted sort of family. Eveline is revealed to be Grandma Baker, who has aged rapidly due to not being maintained by the corporation's handlers. Ethan is freed by Mia, and depending on if you cured her or not she dies sacrificing herself to save Ethan from Eveline.

Ethan obtains a super powerful version of the serum from the ship that can destroy Eveline, and makes his way through the plantation to confront her, learning along the way that Lucas was working with the mysterious corporation and that he managed to escape from the plantation before he could be confronted. Ethan injects Eveline, she turns into a giant monster, and Ethan is given a powerful experimental Samurai Edge to defeat her. It turns out Ethan is rescued by someone calling themselves "Redfield" (though people believe it's an impostor due to him not looking like or sounding like Chris), and Ethan is flown out on Redfield's helicopter, along with Mia if she didn't die. As the helicopter flies away, it's revealed that it's actually an Umbrella helicopter, leaving the game on a cliffhanger on why Umbrella is back.

Shame about Lucas.

That was a comment from a Reddit thread yesterday, and personally I feel that it's based off of leaked footage more than the actual game. They only go into detail when the leaked stuff comes into play, and then either barely or don't touch on things in between.

Zoe thing is so freaking stupid, like happens immediately after you pick.
Why even bother?

What happens if you leave her?

It was yes but it doesn't contradict anything we saw/read about so I posted it. Especially the Zoe parts that were confirmed.

If you choose Mia? Mia lives.

I'm pretty sure the Zoe thing isn't true..... I swear there's a scene straight after with Jack and Her....? When jack explains to ethan what Eveline is?

It's a part of the game I don't understand and probably won't until playing it through. Jack is indeed given the serum, and Zoe is killed by Evelyn in the transition scene from the swamp to the ship.

However, while in the cocoon Ethan does somehow communicate with Jack, and Zoe is present (though not Marguerite). I'm not sure if mentally they've been under Evelyn so long that they somehow are residually present in Evelyn's connection or some other thing.

Yes. If you pick Zoe to save, you leave Mia there at the dock and are attacked by Evelyn in the next scene. Certainly feels a bit cheap, and it wouldn't surprise me if it came out that they had to abandon some development in that area due to time and budget.

Zoe still dies if you choose Mia, though I haven't seen how.

Wait, choose Mia - > Mia lives, Zoe dies
choose Zoe -> Both die

She gets the shaft no matter what?

Damn lol that spike for Ada,

Honestly though as much as I love that RE4 dress...
She looked cool as hell in 6.

I agree, RE4 dress is iconic but the RE6's practical yet sexy take on her costume is honestly great.

Chris and Ada truly are the best looking characters. THAT is my ship, and it's 100% real I mean, all that hatred from Chris and all that trolling from Ada(Carla lol) in RE6? It's all love; it's only because they're both a bit kinky. They're into that stuff.

What I like about the RE series is that the characters get old in real time. Ada was a hot MILF by the time of RE6.

How the Zoe and Mia choice plays out is you choose either to use the one cure and then immediately leave on a boat with Zoe where Eveline gets her. I kind of like how it plays out because instead of making think if you chose right and how it will play out near the end, the game makes it immediately clear that you wasted your choice.

Oh wow, I didn't know you play as Mia. Do you see Ethan when you play as Mia?

What happens to Lucas? The plot outline doesn't really make it clear.

No, you don't see Ethan. Ethan is in some sort of cocoon where he isn't visible.

Lucas is supposedly in some old salt mines, which is where you go after the ship. After that I'm not sure.

It pretty much kills any replay value for the game. They were hyping multiples choices and endings and the ending barely changes depending on one choice you make. I feel this one won't have much replay value :/

Considering how it ends, Mia and Ethan probably die in an Umbrella facility anyway so in the end it didn't matter haha.

While it's disappointing, it's been a long time since a mainline RE game has had multiple endings, so I'm not that upset. I think Capcom's plan is to support the game with DLC, seeing how they announced a new free DLC to be released shortly after launch.

I don't believe Capcom did that, but some YouTube random who put out a number of false info, such as the giant water beast.

Edit: Yeah, guy had claimed there was a morality system and multiple endings, with a giant underwater boss being the largest thing ever in the series. I'll link the video once I find it in my history if it's still up.

No? They never ever, said that. And RE games usually have one ending. It's rare to have one with multiple endings.

Just finished the game. Even though I read the spoilers in advance. The game was still amazing/worth the experience.

Going to play with PSVR tonight.

This game is most definitely a Resident Evil game. The initial trailers/demos etc. were very different, yes. Once you play through it for yourself, you'll know what I mean.

Especially if you played the latest games/side games in the series.

Going to play through again later tonight. How do you unlock all the fun stuff?

I unlocked a defense item, the Albert-001 and Mad House.

What else is there?

So I obviously chose Mia, but I don't remember seeing Zoe dying? You leave her at the dock and she just mumbles about how maybe she's not meant to ever leave, but that's all I saw. Felt real shitty once you learn the truth about Mia.

Did I miss a scene showing her death?

Anyone can tell me the passcode for the door that Lucas keeps lying about its passcode?

I don't want to go through the trouble of getting it.

I'm sure its not known yet, but is this game just riddled with jump scares? Kind of hate that but with the first person perspective I expect plenty.
