I would assume it would do what mario kart did for me and just go based off your consoles settings.

That was the case with the Splatfest demo. Would expect full release to be the same.

My package arrives in a few hours, one day before release! I guess my last two complaints to Amazon about not being on time finally helped. Gives me enough time to get the single player out of the way before the server goes up.

The servers are already up. Got the game yesterday, been playing online ever since.

Yes. (And hence no he won't be able to join you for splatfests)
