Right bumper.
Still playing, when does it go down lol
not complaining
Call me stupid, but how do you use grenades? I played a few rounds in quick bursts while at work and didn't take the time to figure it out. Just made due without them.
You can. Back out and press + on the menu. That was great but I wish they would have let me change my camera control to analog stick control
Kicked... but wow did i enjoy this a hell of a lot more than i thought I would. Still don't understand how motion controls benefit you over dual sticks. I guess its due to how much I've played Cod/Bf/Halo.
So this was first experience with Splatoon.
The Roller really worries me. It might be cause I'm an unskilled noob but the Roller feels broken? It was the only weapon that I felt effective when using, and I could never beat anyone that had it when I was using other weapons. Is this just a learning curve thing or is the roller a blatant OP weapon for unskilled players?
Also any word on whether they're gonna include a single player campaign? I heard the first one had amazing bosses, and frankly a single player mode feels like the best way to acclimate with and learn the game before hopping online.
Aside from all that, it was great and can't wait to play the final game.

I get the feeling that you're trying too hard to aim with gyro. Its supposed to feel more natural. It definitely takes a bit too get used to.Its not the sensitivity its my brain trying to use right stick for horizontal and gyro for vertical. My brain can't seem to adjust to it. I'd rather horizontal and vertical be gyro or have it work like it does in Zelda. In Zelda I still use the right stick to line up my shot but if I'm slightly off target I'll slightly tilt the controller where I need it. My brain seems to understand this no problem. But trying to get it to use 2 different input methods for horizontal and vertical just isn't registering for me.
I'm guessing as of right now its either gyro or no gyro and not a combination like zelda?
Also is there anywhere to provide feedback of the beta to the devs?
Thanks! I'll have to try them out later tonight.
Is there a way to turn off the annoying motion controls?
Much needed option: different control schemes for different control configurations. I don't want to go into options every time I go into handheld mode just to turn off motion controls.
dude the square button is a screenshot button
So like 10 EST tonight according to OP is next chance to dive in? Just got home from work.

You could turn off motion controls. I tried playing on my TV and handheld. Split joycon with motion was great on the TV, but in handheld I NEED to turn that shit off. I really, really would love an option to change controls based on configuration. Please, Nintendo!Could you turn off motion controls in the testfire I couldn't figure it out. Honestly I felt like a drunk sailor half the time since I was playing in hand held mode. I tried tabletop and that was even worse with separate joy cons.
Overall I really liked splatoon 2, the changes all seem to be for the better splatduelies seem fun and the roll is cool but I can't aim worth shit with motion controls. Roller was as fun as always really like the ground pounds special.
Lazy gamers for wanting to play comfortably? That's a new one. I had no fun with gyro, I turned them off and started enjoying the game a lot more. You say it takes some time to learn but I'd rather not waster the whole hour doing that. You're new to Splatoon, I guess?
Yes, you can turn them off, but you shouldn't. The game is amazing with gyro aiming, but it takes some time to learn.
Seems like some gamers these days want every game to control the same way, so they never have to leave their comfort zone and learn new skills.
Why did they call it Mega Man 2? It's basically the same game isn't it?
I think it's a learning curve kinda thing. I learned approaching from the front is suicidal and its better to either circle around and quickly finish them with splat bomb + your gun or to team up on one.
Woomy!
