Sci Fi, I don't think this will go the Halo route, no way, its all about Master Sargent Major Delta El Tactico these days in the shooter multiplayer arena. Hell I even think Bungie are taking a gamble trying to recreate Halo's success.
Surviving longer is more welcoming to newcomers? I always felt that being able to kill the other player in a couple of shots were far more welcoming than having to lay 200 bullets into the other player.
um the COVER?
Indeed. Game was asstastic. And a hazing PS3 got for that one.

I love how they say its impossible to run the game without the cloud, yet are releasing a PC and 360 version. Does part of MS's moneyhat require them to bullshit the public about the cloud as well? Sad.
Also, lol@PC release but calling it exclusive.
Sure, but everyone is betting on Sci-Fi this new generation. Consumers are going to follow or be left with CoD and Battlefield. Consumers tend to get burnt out on online franchises within a single generation.
It'll be interesting. Everyone is going for massive battles, mixed combat, etc. as well. The market direction has Planetside 2 poised to be a real wildcard for Sony if it's a launch title. It's a damn good game already doing most of the things Respawn and Bungie are only talking about right now. It should be a good litmus test on consumer interest in this new massively online shooter format the industry is pushing.
Tbh it's kind of pathetic if that topic is about a game, and not about things like that.
Man, fuck that noise, I was part of D3, of SimCity, you don't know the shit I've seen. I have had the woman I love, my FIANCE, cry because a city she built in SimCity got "lost in the cloud" or something stupid like that, no, screw that shit!
You need an internet connection to play single player games on the Xbox One
Another Scifi shooter? Color me surprised.
To be completely fair you can TECHNICALLY be offline for 24 hours (for the XB1) but who knows what happens after that?...I'd rather not be apart of that DRM nightmare which is why I'm irritated this game is console exclusive. My gaming laptop won't be able to play all the ridiculously optimized next-gen games...
- Xbox 360 version developed by someone else
- Planned to target current gen, but realized that they couldn't run it
I didn't say it was appropriate, but it's not pathetic. It's easy to understand why people are reacting violently to all things XB1. MS is basically telling gamers that they're a bunch of junkies who will sacrifice their rights as a consumer to get their next gaming fix. That's pretty damn insulting and it's going to spill over.
The big problem with trying to exploit a fetish market is that all your customers are very passionate and if you step across the line they'll call you on it with all the venom they can muster. MS has stepped across that line and are now getting what they deserve.
nope you need to connect to live once every 24h to ensure nobody is abusing the discless playing from the hard drive. that news is outdated though and they might have changed things or expanded the time to a week after the shitstorm. who knows...
Your XB1 can be offline for 24 hours. Sounds like TitanFall isn't nearly as forgiving. But then, that assumes anyone will even play single player. Most CoD/Battlefield players never do.

I don't know man, the average 360 owner i know couldn't care less about DRM and second hand games, it's like they see these stupid barriers and they just accept them as features or consequences of advancements in console technology.

So basically a District 9 and Blade Runner inspired version of CoD with more emphasis on player skill due to more player health using dedicated servers and the infinite power of the cloud made by the true developers of Call of Duty.
yes plz

its multiplayer only....
Yeah, i don´t want to sound like a butthurt Playstation fan, but i guess this also applies to Destiny.
I believe you can make a very successful IP based on a scifi setting, however, many are missing the point that what made COD the beast that it is right now is what the name already says "Modern Warfare".
No scifi, no WWII, no aliens, no dinosaurs, no BS. Just regular soldiers in a 2000 or so setting.
I just think their strategy for the new IP is a bit weird, let´s see how much of a buzz they can create.
I am LOLing at the fact he goes out of his way to explain they don't have the manpower for multi-platform development.....
Yet they had no problems outsourcing the 360 version. Which they could also have done for other platforms.
I smell:
And what is required to connect to live once every 24h to ensure nobody is abusing the discless playing from the hard drive?
Nothing in that post was incorrect.
And nothing has changed regarding Microsoft's definition of "exclusive"
So...its StarHawk?...slash...Brink?
It's exclusive to the Microsoft "ecosystem"! If you want to play this game you'll have to give MS money one way or another.
Can't wait to see how the game looks, 60fps next-gen Source game. It should be pretty.
They do different things. Gaikai sends only your controller input to a server, which then replaces your console entirely, and sends a video back. Azure does computation on the server and sends data back.True that! I bet it's a time exclusive. A ps4 will eventually come out later, but I can't stand these lame excuses from devs!
If you got paid a shitload of money by MS, than don't lie!
I knew this would coming, considering the fact that the former Infinity Ward were always close to Microsoft.
Could someone pls explain me, why the cloud of MS could be superior to Sonys ( Gaikai) one? From what I've seen and read on the web Gaikai should be way ahead and 'better'
you can play games offline. its not always online. if its a simple check, you can do it within a few seconds. even if your internet connection craps out you could still use your smartphone for the check (using your 3g connection i mean).
always wondered if Microsoft sticking a deal with Respawn would put any strain on their relationship with Kotick/Activision.
