Did she at least toss a few crackers on you to complete the meal?
This is hilarious. I "screwed up". Okay. I got bowl of soup dropped on me and I'm somehow in the "wrong" here.
Someone spilled something on me and apologized better ask he internet if the organization she works for owes me something.
For fucks sake op.
a meal and genuine human interaction sounds like a bargain to me for 15 bucks.
pls pm me for conversation
Yes. YOU screwed up by not saying something. You're the customer and the waitress and manager aren't psychics. The waitress apologized and you didn't say anything further so she likely assumed that was the end of the issue.
You're in the wrong because you didn't say anything and now you're on an internet forum bitching that they didn't immediately rush to compensate you. And you're continually doubling down in this thread defending your passiveness by waving off criticism saying "well YOU weren't there". You make a post asking for advice, you don't get to wave off criticism. Don't want the criticism, don't make the thread. Want to be compensated for a waitress having an accident, speak up.
I'm wondering why a lot of these posters think that these people get THEIR meals spilled on them, dont get to eat the full thing or any of it at all, then are expected to pay.
it wasn't OPs soup
I know. But in response to OP and other stories being shared, some people are assuming that others have gotten their meals spilled on them and had to pay without any replacement
Why does the color of the skin matter in this case though? In my biased ass view because I come from an immigrant family I've usually only seen other immigrant families or middle to lower income people complain
and usually if you come from that background you carry it with you (like I do), contrast that to richer people they usually don't complain at restaurants
it's like stereotyping for how people deal with food service, interesting microcosms and shit
I want one of those expanding brain memes:
I don't think any of those poster are assuming they wouldn't get their full ordered meal
like, none of them at all
A poster replied to my comment toward guy who ripped up gift card after having coffee spilled on him, saying "he got his coffee spilled on him then paid"
I want one of those expanding brain memes:
Realising people make mistakes and accepting their apology.
Complain to management in hopes of a free meal.
Say nothing but quietly wish death upon the employee.
Complaining on the internet after the fact but doing nothing of practical use.
Asking to speak to a manger is probably a better way to get free shit but complaining to a manager after somebody apologizes to you is more of a dick move than talking about an experience online after the fact. If anything OP was probably just too nice and didnt want to cause a problem. Stupid ass place should have comped his shit. People who arent willing to stir shit up deserve a comp more than fuckasses who make huge deals about everything anyway.

And where does he says something even remotely close to wishing something to the employee ?
this thread man
I needed to fill the 4 slots. It was overly dramatic for the sake of showing how stupid no. 4 (an all to common thing on here) is. Thought that would be obvious, but here we are. It's not like OP took moves 1 or 2 in a way to satisfy them moving forward in life either, otherwise we wouldn't have this thread.
Advice to those who work in retail, offer something (reasonable) in good will if a mistake is made. Even if the customer doesn't make a big fuss.
Advice to most people in this thread, don't work in retail.
Have you ever been on a situation when at the moment you thought you have made the good decision but after that happened, you changed your mind ? I dunno, that happens to me, that happens to a lot of people and yeah, people have the freedom to make a thread about it, especially when nothing wrong comes of it in the first place (that was not even I complain, he was just wondering jesus)

.People make mistakes and she apologized. You even said it was no big deal.
Get over it.
For everyone who may know this:I'm just another black man who gets attacked when I try to talk about getting hot soup spilled on me.
Best thread since that one where the guy got really offended that a complete stranger wouldn't take his picture.

I wish there was something like a reverse backfire. Like a way to single out every one of you who is jumping on this bandwagon of victim blaming here.
Not that confusing. For everyone who may know this:
Is it a common thing for black people to have soup spilled on them? Or to be attacked for it? This post confused me.
