zero risk of getting banned. But also zero risk to get embarrassing tag. And where's the fun in that?

You know, nobody would be complaining after the fact if we didn't know before. Are you even going to the theater showing? Someone's gonna complain about something.I hate beta codes that are considered giveaways. "Congrats you get to stress test the game / here's a demo to help advertise the game." Better not be the big thing they are giving away at the theatres.

I'm not complaining about the event. I don't like practice of giving away beta codes and how publishers treat them in general.People complaining that they get to watch E3 on a theater for free and get a beta code for an upcoming game while some people are on the waiting list and other have no hope of something like this ever happening close the where they reside.

I don't understand what you are saying whatsoever. Are we having an argument on the topic of beta codes? I simply stated my opinion on the matter and I've been deemed ungrateful by two users for sharing my opinion.People see value in it so they use it to promote other stuff. Simple.

screw ps event...how do i get invited to pachter's party?
It's not free if you have to pay for gas. And you have to actually use your time to attend the event. Shit, Sony should be paying me.I have to drive there?! Come the fuck on Sony your sorry asses can't pick me up at my house? Sony just shot themselves in the foot.
That's the thing that makes you seem "ungrateful". I don't want that, I want some other thing. They don't have to give us anything. I'm not going to call the movie theater thing kindness (I'm not that twisted) but at free, it's already something to be content with. "I hope this isn't the only thing", "If this is true I'll be giving my code away", lots of better ways to go about voicing your opinion that doesn't come off as whiny.I hate beta codes that are considered giveaways. Just say it differently. I've long accepted the inevitability about someone complaining about anything but my god, it's a free showing and there are thousands of people that physically can't go.- I am going to a theatre showing.
- I wouldn't be complaining if it was revealed during the show but I would be indifferent. I would give it to someone who wanted it or throw it out.
- This is me talking about any beta code for anything. I hate the practice of publishers using beta codes as this sacred thing that we should all want. Anytime I've participated in a beta it has just felt pointless as it will all be wiped/it isn't all final.
Sorry I offended you.
Sony better use this conference to rectify is holiday lineup. With The Order bring delayed, PS4s lineup for this fall needs some serious amelioration. I am hoping Sony's been saving up some exceptional titles for this contingency. Is gonna REALLY suck if they don't.
Display that tag proudly; it's hilarious.zero risk of getting banned. But also zero risk to get embarrassing tag. And where's the fun in that?
My phrasing could have been better on the first post but do not get the idea that I am ungrateful for the event in general. I did not attack anyone spefically in the post and you came across as very aggressive in my opinion. It sounds fun and I am excited to meet some fellow gaf users there. I understand some people would love to go but can't. What am I supposed to do about that? That's life. There are things that I can't go to but I am not resentful towards the people who do attend regardless of their opinions on the event or items given at an event. It's not free if you have to pay for gas. No hurt in putting yourself on the wait list. You can decide the day off if you feel like trying.Any idea what it's like to be on the waitlist, like number-wise?
Should I show up hours in advance? Should I not bother?
First post!
Managed to score a ticket for the Seattle show, super pumped. Going to witness the birth of VR on the bigscreen and see all the amazing new PS4 stuff.
Been lurking since juuust before the PS4 reveal and been a daily reader ever since. Seen some epic, epic threads. Have many of you PS4 guys on my psn list.
Anyone going to be in Seattle for the show?
I guess I missed that there was a new battlefield game or a beta. I doubt the beta is what they're giving away, unless they plan to hand physical codes since many attendants are going as guests (such as myself).

In the end I don't like beta codes for anything and I applogize that my anger towards a practice I feel the industry has been misusing for years clouded my response and made it seem to some individuals that I was ungrateful. I am looking forward to the event.
I think its the idea of sounding ungrateful but also jumping the gun a bit early before the event. Hell I haven't even got an email with a code. It's best on GAF to not jump the gun and open yourself to be shame quoted later. For instance they give a Battlefield PS4 Beta code to go along with THE FREE PS4 THEY GIVE AWAY YAYYY!! Its E3 and giving out demos and beta codes for games shown there makes sense and is nice for those that can't attend.
Let's keep expectations realistic imho. I only expect them to have a vita shooting bazooka.

I'll take the bazooka, and use it at the meetup... I should do something about that. Starting to cut it close.Let's keep expectations realistic imho. I only expect them to have a vita shooting bazooka.

I'll dress up as GAFMan.Be sure to dress up as Batman. I'm sure nobody would be terrified lol*
*I realize the joke is in bad taste but I had to make it. I apologize to those offended

And did you just Micheal Jackson quote? Welp, time to get that meetup process started. I'll try doing it while watching GoT. I'm not familiar with Katy, is there a place there we all can hang after the conference?
It's like almost two pages since the beta email discovery and not a single person has pointed out that 'valuts' isn't a word.
This seems phishy. Why give a beta key in an email? What does your guest get?
I'm betting they're giving away a spankin' new PS4 to everyone who attend!!
Listen if the interested is this high for the Beta
guranteed you PS+ or BF4 owners will get one
better yet they will dish out tons to IGN,GS ect
Sony begged EA for this BF spin off?
clearly it will debut at Sony conference
BF4 seemed like MS game last year
I'm betting they're giving away a spankin' new PS4 to everyone who attend!!
If it were only one location, then ya probably. But with how many thousands of people total, no way.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if they give a couple Ps4's or Vitas away at the actual showings, but just a couple, not hundreds.
I still hope to be proven wildly wrong and go home carrying a new Ps4, Vita, an HDTV, and one of those insurance policies they sell in Japan.
still praying for the Yosp/Kaz bobble heads
Yeah, it's Edwards. I live in East Houston so that's all sketchy to me. The Memorial City Mall is all but 2 minutes away though. But even down further, 15 or so from Edwards, is Alamo Drafthouse (which is awesome btw. Free anime nights on Tuesdays. First 4 episodes of a random Sentai Filmworks/Funimation show. And all that speciality stuff too). And even, even, further down, is the Palladium. Which is less theater and more Collesium. Stuffs crazy in that place. Too bad the actual feature watching is not as good as the presentation of the theater.Isn't it in Edward's Theater? Then that's in Houston down I-10 with Silber, not Katy. Edward's is in the somewhat outlet mall area, which has some bars and restaurants nearby.
If I'm wrong and it's the katy one, then the big fancy one down there it's the Palladium theater which has bowling, bars, food service for VIP, and regular food. The food is no Alamo Drafthouse but it's a very fancy mall-looking theater.
Mort, or Thuway, or someone... said that EA was the one begging Sony after Titanfall went splat. Relatively speaking. I'm positive we'll see some EA and Ubisoft and Activision at Sony E3. Good for Sony's image, bad for us enthusiasts since conference time isn't unlimited.Yeah I'm sure Sony really begged EA to be on stage...
There was an equivalent of a Red Bull Women at a Basketball game I went to once, except for WarGaming. They gave me a goodie bag and a World Of Tanks bottleopener. It's pretty much one of my favorite possessions for no good reason. PlayStation® KeyChain please. Or a Lanyard. Hell, maybe even all three !!Realistically I could see them giving a beta code for battlefield (if true) alongside maybe 3-12 months of PS+. I don't expect anything like a game unless it's something minor. I wouldn't mind a playstation themed bottle opener.
