Worst slip ups you've said to people?

Without fail, with the girls that work the front desk at the gym:

Them: "Here's your towel, have a good workout"
Me: "Thanks, you too!"

Was taking meeting minutes at work and misspelled "shift" as "shit"

Can't remember what the sentence ended up reading, but I felt pretty stupid, since the email was forwarded to quite a few people. Place I work at is pretty light on tone though and everyone had a laugh.

I met a property manager named Ebony and I called her Ivory.

Also I once called a girl's hijab a burqa. I felt ashamed after I realized what I had done. I still feel like an ignorant asshole.

In online conversations where someone talks about something bad in their past, I've tried to show sympathy by typing :( but typoed it into :) instead.

I've done the "you too" thing before too. Multiple times.

I tell myself that people who work jobs like that probably see that mistake too many times to be bothered by it.

Hopefully.
