Halo 5 Opening Cinematic

Honestly, the discrepancies you guys are pointing out could very well be due to lighting conditions; even Laskey looked a lot different from certain angles.

It's exactly this. Look how light the Halo 4 pic is compared to the darker interior of the 5 cinematic. The background is really dark and the hologram is see through, why wouldn't her hair and skin look darker?

I can't stand this line of thinking? Why not have options? I still keep it touch with people I only know from playing Halo2 online... Matchmaking is a great way to find people to play with online...

And you don't have to coordinate with friends or a GAF account to get the most out of your game...

I'm not saying matchmaking shouldn't be an option.

I'm just saying using the option is potentially worse than playing with friends or online communities you're a part of.

Just... Unnnf. Yes.

Yes yes yes.

Why doesn't Buck have "Halsey" written on the bottom of his boot?

OR, she's being displayed as a hologram over a dark background. :)

Occam's razor.

Speaking of dark backgrounds... Can we expect brightness settings in Halo 5? I ask because the MCC suffered from crushed black settings in almost every campaign. It really wasn't nice to look at sometimes. :/

The trailer definitely got me excited, really enjoyed the setting and music. We really haven't seen much from the campaign, so this is something to get hyped about. I actually hope they keep campaign stuff mostly on lock up to release, so as to avoid spoilers.

I do find it strange how Master Chief seems to be so de-emphasized from all marketing materials. I'm a big fan of the overall lore in the Halo universe, but MC is the main attraction for me.

Wow!!.... That was amazing the character models are just insane. Great work by 343 and whoever did the CG.

Crazy to think what else is in the game with such an opener.

If not for the books I would have no/very little interest in the Halo universe.

Yup. The books flesh out the world so much. I play Halo for the story and will always purchase the games just for the lore. The multiplayer is just added bonus.

So this is what ComicsGAF must feel like when general threads delve into unearned outrage by people that don't understand the subject matter. :/

Everyone has their own preferences, but this is exactly why I didn't like Halo 4 as much. The story might have been decent for the lore fans, but it just lacked in gameplay and as someone who buys games mainly for the gameplay, it was just heavily disappointing.

I just want to see gameplay, so I can make a decision. Frankie and others teased us several times with larger scale levels/fights etc., but it would be nice to see those. I know people don't want to get spoiled, but compared to other Halo's we haven't seen "anything" from the campaign yet.

Yes yes yes.

Awesome but I wish they would allow us to jump out the pelican and glide down one day. Hope we get something like that during the game, maybe even a little bit. As cool as it looks, I'm just watching but my imagination is thinking it would be amazing to play that.

But it's infinity better than playing with no one simply because your friends aren't online, and you don't feel like finding friends on a website...

Looks cool as far as fmv cutscenes go, but it's still an fmv cutscene, so meh.

But damn is female spartan smoking hot! *hearts*

Liked the banter on the ship and the freefall but once they touch ground...yikes. It's like they're skating, really don't like their movement at all. I appreciate the attempt at showing this elite spartan team just mowing through this huge fight but came off a little too anime wankery to me. Kinda like Monty Oum's work (RIP), without the solid choreography. Hope anything involving Blue team is a little more grounded.
