TITANFALL 2 Reviews Thread

Dont think a game like titanfall needs frostbite. Battlefront and Battlefield consist of 32 / 64 players , whereas titanfall is 6 v 6? I think a feature I would like from both of those games is the sexy menu UI

I heard 4 hours. But i heard it's a good campaign. So interested!

I really, really doubt that four-hour thing. Unless you played on easy and just knew where to go. I played on hard and I got lost a few times since the game never holds your hand too much. And every segment/stage, there's something new (puzzle, platforming, etc.).

Maybe five hours on "regular?" FPS bros definitely need to play this on hard.

Frostbite is only available to EA owned studios, Respawn is independent.
Maybe EA will let them use it? Not sure how all these agreements work, but basically I just want something that isn't the Source engine. I can't imagine Star Wars is on that.

Unreal Engine 4 would be pretty good too though
as long as they don't change the movement and fluidity. if it's anything like battlefield movement and gunplay then god no don't use frostbite.

Nah, when Titanfall switches from the Source engine to Frostbite, it's gonna play like Dragon Age Inquisition.

Anyone think it won't review as highly now that it isn't backed by Microsoft? Seriously the marketing machine behind the first laid it on way too thick and the reviews just seemed fake like they were paid for or something.

"Guys. Titanfall 1 reviews were fake, cause Microsoft. Xbox only games aren't good.

Now that it's on PC/PS4 we getting screwed in reviews."

X-D

Wtf??? Hahaha

Reviews looking great. Adding this to the long list of games I don't have time for.

Edited a post on the last page to add this, but part of their deal with EA is that they can leave if they're not liking the relationship anymore and using Frostbite would complicate that. They're keeping themselves from being dependent on EA for their tech.

The Star Wars game is using UE4.

The Star Wars game is UE4

Brilliant! Hope they use it for future Titanfalls. Gears 4 is the only big AAA game I've played on UE4 and it looks and runs so well.

Makes sense. Does EA or Respawn own the Titanfall brand?

Zomg looks like I will be standing by for Titanfall!

Loved the first one so this should be awesome, big debate now is do I go PC or PS4 o_O I like using controllers on PC so I'm likely safer on PS4 lol

Any interesting difficulty options to the campaign?

Am looking for info on how harder difficulties play. I assume enemies get more accurate, but do you run into anything like the pinpoint precision grenade spam you get in the COD games on higher difficulties?

And I wish I felt more comfortable with the multiplayer changes. Really seems like a "fixed what wasn't broken" situation. I should be a lot more hyped for this than I am.

Good scores. Will look for it cheap sometime next year if they fix the multiplayer.

What to "fix"? If you mean by going back to fully customized Titans and old rodeo system, it is 99% not happening. Not that I agree with those changes but I've got past that.

It's not a corridor shooter, the play space is large and you have lots of options to each encounter so I doubt bullshit like those will return.

Length doesn't bother me much, I just finished MWR in under 5 hours and its still the best military campaign in a decade. But its still good to know that its not super short.

Serious question...what the fuck is up with Polygon? They always seem to be giving out lower scores than other sites, at least in the review threads I've visited.

Wow, for Titanfall 2 on Amazon, to get the Prime discount, you have to get the physical version... which only comes with a code and no disk lol. The Prime discount does not work with a digital key... what?

Open more review threads maybe? The same reviewer just gave Battlefield 1 and Gears of War 4 9s.

The review perfectly justifies it's reasoning for the score.

It's always been that way afaik. I too am at the mercy of the shipping gods.

What is this? haha

Were all the Sony exclusives like Uncharted and Bloodborne paid reviews as well?

I like everything I'm hearing and seeing. I'm picking up a new video card on Thursday, then this comes out Friday. Going to be an awesome time!

That's the case for pretty much all games right? Or have I been missing out on digital discounts? :(

4 hours? Ugh. First Battlefield's 3-4 hour campaign, now this. EA really seems to hate singleplayer fans.
Would you rather have a stellar 4 hour campaign or a shitty 10 hour campaign?

Quality over quantity.

So glad I preordered this on a whim when it was $50 on Amazon. Never played the first one but I'm pretty pumped to try this out.

Batteries, map design, TTK, pilot loadouts, kill streaks vs. burn cards, 3rd person animations, more than a few AI on the map. There are too many good multiplayer games out to waste time on a worse version of Titanfall 1. If they don't fix it why would I buy it?

Is it true for this game only? If so, I have many friends who would buy on Amazon if digital games got a discount...

Anyone know if the shitty red glow all enemy pilots had in the tech tests is gone now or is that still in? I want to say I read that there is a pilot ability or something that uses that but it was on by default in the tests.

The negativity of IW definitely seems it could benefit TF. But even BF1s reaction is so overwhelming that its attracting new fans that may have found titanfall more appealing

Oh sweet, it's currently at what I predicted (87) on OpenCritic. From the sounds of it though, there's more 9's inbound, so it'll likely go up (which is awesome!).

I'm curious to see what Giant Bomb will give it. Jeff's reviewing it, right?

Pilots now have health bars above them.

Batteries aren't going away. Ttk is the same as titanfall 1. Pilot load outs? What's the problem there? Burn cards sucked ass in titanfall 1 and could break matches from the start. A.i is confirmed for some modes.

From most veterans that have played this recently they All said it's better than the first game.
