TITANFALL 2 Reviews Thread

How about you get over it and move on with your life? I thought the test was shit and waited for impressions and reviews. I may even buy it. I'm not sure why it was so traumatic for you that folks didn't like it and thought it may not be good. There are a ton of people giving it a second glance thanks for the reviews. Not all that unreasonable.

Damn guy, whats with the personal attack? I have nothing to get over. I am just having a laugh at the situation. I knew the negativity was overblown by a mile and I knew there were so many inaccuracies about the game being thrown about as truth. The negativity never got to me, after I tried the tech test I knew the game was going to be received well once it was finished.

Where is this sheet?
How does one join this....TitanGAF?
Quote this post to see the spreadsheet. People will be added once Izuna and I can play (you can't add people via the website unfortunately). There's a PS4 NeoGAF network from the tech test, but it'll probably be best to have a new group for the members that bought the full release. If someone wants to make the PS4 TitanGAF network, do so and let me know.

First official retail game on X1 concluded.

I'm sorry, other team.
Wow, that was just mean.
And I love it.

I didn't personally attack anyone, just called it as I saw it. Many of us played a bad test and made opinions based on that test. If you look through this thread, a lot of people were still open minded regarding the final product. Don't see the point in trying to shame anyone over it. It's silly.

And don't call me guy, bud.
:p

Goodness gracious me.

What's a good elite controller config for this game? This will be the first time I've used mine in online play.
During the tech test I was using
Upper left paddle - reload
Upper right paddle - jump
Lower right paddle - crouch

Guess it depends on if you're used to only using two, tho. If I only used left and right it'd be jump on the left and crouch on the right.

Thanks. I'm almost tempted to go xbox for this one. Want to see Cobalt bring it!

Oh, I am just so traumatized that people had an opinion different than mine, how will I ever get over it? Right? I mean, that is what you said.

Am I shaming people by laughing at their expense? lol so what. As someone once told me "get over it". Sometimes people are right and you're that traumatized that they think they were right and say so? Now that is silly, guy :P

Hey, you're the one still going on about it, man, so I guess so. Your post wasn't necessary and was a bad look. A couple of people called you out for it. If you see me posting about it a month later as you did, then you can tell me to get over it. I called out the silliness in the moment, I'll forget about it an hour(probably sooner) from now. If you need a shoulder to cry on about how the meanies didn't like the tech test, send me a PM, I won't be shitting up the thread further.

Thanks, not sure if I'm going to use 2 or 4 yet I'll have to play a little. I used all 4 in Bioshock 2 and kept pressing them by accident, so i'm thinking I'll just use one on each side of the controller.

For us SCUF users with 2 paddles, it's typically jump on left paddle, slide or melee on right paddle, depending on preference. I do slide on right paddle, melee on R3, since that is what I am used to.

Hey, you're the one still going on about it, man, so I guess so. Your post was dumb. A couple of people called you out for it. Move on, things will look up.

2 people responded to it. 1 guy said there are other people mocking people being negative (not surprising even slightly). And your post which was babyrage and never actually addressed what I had said.

Was I wrong in saying that a lot of people said the only people who will enjoy this game never touched TF1? I saw that said a lot. Maybe next time instead of over-reacting, you slow down and actually address the content of the post.

I won't be shitting up the thread further.

Maybe try not doing that in the first place.

Wow a 5/5 GB score. A Jeff 5 as well.

I know! That's a pretty good review. Surprised me.

PC IMO if you have a card that can play it on max, because kb + m feels alot better, as well as mastering the advanced movement in the game. The community will be prob have less people than consoles, but it will still be very active.
I have GTX 970, but the website requirements says I need 1070 to play it on max.

Eh
Mostly a "surface" review while Polygon's went a bit more into detail on multiplayer and touching on things some of the community had issues with, even though people will bag on the video. Im curious what people will say about GB's Quick Look... Probably nothing given the perfect score lol

Now Im not saying the game is bad. Issues aside, I really enjoy being in a Titan but reading people's comments on Polygon's written review compared to their video is hilarious. Attempts at discrediting their critiques/score based on their "skill".

I need to know if the mp is good.

Tf1 kind of fell a bit flat.

Was hyped for 2 until mp impressions were very negative.

Now reviews are good and I'm really confused.

Jeff went into much more detail on the podcast yesterday, including details such as the battery system which he loves quite a bit.

Great reviews, yet I watched the first 15 minutes at IGN, and I'm not feeling it, probably because it's not THAT different from a standard FPS.
umm.. what? well to be fair IGN doesn't exactly play it the way it should be played. What's your definition of standard FPS?

Someone is being PMed I think

There is a "NeoGAF" network but it's public. TitanGAF will be invite-only so you know you're playing with members
Eh, isn't this just making things overly complicated? Why not just let NeoGAF be the gaf network, no invites, no passwords, simple.

Very nice indeed. Has OP updated this?

The fact that the game mechanics encourages bunny hopping as an advanced traversal technique is disappointing.

At best it looks stupid, and at worst its tedious to perform and annoying to fight.
Wat. lol. ok this game is not for you. Move on.
PS4 or XBOX ONE?! I can never decide... PS4 normally has the resolution but I do like the XBOX controller...
I think x1 will have the better competition. PS4 will have more gaf members.

That's crazy. 2 paddles is enough for me. I wish i could do more but then i wouldn't be able to grip the controller right.

At minimum you'll need 2 paddles on the back for Titanfall 2 i think. I went left back jump, right back slide/crouch.

I really hope this game holds a community better than the last release did. I wish they released on steam though, cause again I feel like that is a big deal unfortunately. It's certainly not fatal but I would be more comfortable buying it day 1 if that was true.

Damn, I can tell you really hate being wrong.

Oh lord. You're still going? I offered you an open invitation to PM me regarding the matter. I wasn't wrong about anything. As with anything I purchase, I wait until release and impressions before I make a final decision, so I'm not sure what you're getting at. I have zero emotional investment in any game that isn't Shenmue III. If you want to PM me and chat about it, fine. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but if you're gonna keep trying to come at me like a child, I'll just block you. Now please stop.

The reviews are good. What are you confused about? The negativity spawned primarily from the early version tech test, since which a number of common complaints have been addressed.

Tons of video footage out there as well to watch as well for those on the fence.

The NeoGAF network will still be there, it's just that this way we can be certain that the group is members only and not lurkers or randos joining. The Xbox Club is already invite only, supposedly for this reason.

It will be as simple as me dishing out invites to anyone who posts their gametag that wants to play, whether it is in the spreedsheet or in a post here.

Not sure how it works in game, but who handles the PSN network for gaf?

Imma Get The Last Word: The Thread

My apologies.

Is there a titanfall 1 veterans network? if not i'm thinking of creating one. this networks thing is a great idea.

And where is the OT!! it should be up today since reviews are out and people are playing.

Probably what I'll end up with, seems optimal for the slide jumping technique I have seen in Gamesager's videos. Maybe in the future I'll use all of the paddles, I think I just need some experience with it, it does take some getting use to at first.

Lol, yea.. either way you have to sort of adjust how you hold the controller. Now that I've gotten used to it, it feels great tho.

I'm never letting go of that right stick lol.

Also, try the different stick sensitivity options. I think I'm using an adjusted 'Instant' on the right. I messed around with the right trigger range, too.

How's the Scuf controller for the PS4? I'll be transitioning to the Pro pretty much exclusively, and I'm intrigued by the Scuf.

I have an Elite for the One, and I really liked it, even though I underutilized the paddles, until the left bumper broke after a year or so.

How's the Scuf's build quality, functionality, etc ?

Thanks!
