Admittedly I haven't played Requiem yet, I've watched some of Grace's section and the impression I got was its not as action focused as RE2/4 and looked more in line with Ethan who wasnt an over the top asskicker, so a closer proxy to 7/8 and less like Leon's skillset/playstyle but I stand to be corrected. Though I'm not all that clear on your description of Grace's sections the way you expressed it here, or I'm having a slow day.
Well as you haven't played it it's harder to describe without you referencing it
But for example
Nakanishi at the The Tokyo Game Show 2025 Interview said
"I think you can broadly classify Resident Evil titles on a scale of how much they're like Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil 4... I didn't want to have to do that with [Requiem], where I just tried to outdo the action in Village... As a result, Requiem is 'swinging the scale' more towards Resident Evil 2's style of gameplay and calls it 'almost an upgrade.'"
In a later article "The PlayStation Blog "Creator's Voice"
He mentions
"while Grace defaults to first-person (for fans of that view), the actual level design of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center was built with the "looping" logic of the RPD in mind."
The combat is wildly different too, with Grace's aiming being ripped right from RE2 rather then what we saw in RE7/8
Grace also encounters more Enemies than Ethan did in RE7 which have the same take down mechanics as Leon and Claire did in RE2( go for the knees), RE8 is different because it tries to be more like RE4, but that's a different topic
The only difference is Grace is more green under the collar then Leon & Claire but despite that she is more capable then Ethan was with more ways to get past enemies then he did.
Grace's limitations are more Ammo related then forceful restraint subjected onto the player.
With the exception of "The Girl" (for story reasons) Grace can kill any enemy she comes across.
