I've been all digital since Q4 2012. I traded in all my 360, PS3, and all games for Steam gift cards at GameStop. I eventually bought a PS4 and PS5, but I've never bought a single physical game for either system.
It's been just fine.
My son eventually asked me to get him a PS3 so he could check out some old games. I was able to go in and download some of my old digital games for that console like flOwer and Cuboid. Those are pushing 20 year old purchases at this point and they work fine.
If you just love collecting physical, I get it. But the FUD around digital licensing should be obvious nonsense at this point.
