Bayonetta PC port gets updated... with a Vanquish teaser

Vanquish is one of my most favorite games. This would be a day 1 purchase for sure. 60fps would be insane. I might actually beat God Hard mode now (no).

I hope they touch it up a bit.

Colours, shading, textures, 60fps+.

Would be nice either way but that would be a lot better.

Please don't be 30fps capped...

There's definitely a fear of this, but given how the Bayo port turned out I'm assuming Platinum is aware that this has to at least be 60fps.

The game has slow-motion mechanics, which means that it probably has framerate-independent game logic in the first place, which means that 60fps (or ideally arbitrary) isn't as much of a stretch as some other ports.

The only TPS King is back

I don't have a PC and I will probably never go back to being a pc gamer,
but I'm just happy to see the name Vanquish again :)

I really, really wish you all the best luck in trying to beat Challenge 6 the legit way
I've never had such an exhilarant gaming moment in my entire life :)

!!!Yes Man Kablam!!!
Is there a non-legit way of beating Challenge 6 that I'm unaware of?

Didn't this game sell like garbage? It's an amazing game, but I don't think it will get anywhere near Bayonetta sales (which weren't great either).

Did this patch do anything more than add that picture? When I ran the game a few days ago, I couldn't hold a solid 60fps, even at 1080p on a 1070. Didn't have any performance issues the first time I loaded up the game.

I have yet to play a platinum game, am i a sinner ? I have MG Rising on steam, and i mean to play some of the others, what is the greatest of there games that i must play in order to avoid sinning any longer.

Remember that SEGA PC port campaign a while back?

Made a bunch of noise, and if Vanquish on Steam is real that only leaves one title from the petition....

let's gooooooooooooo
Serious question as someone who's never played this series that much, like I vaguely recall playing VF4 on a friend's PS2, but that's it.

Does the game have much single player content? Does it have decent costumes/customization? How's the netcode?

Just start with MGR.

It's video game viagra.

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.

Nier sold like garbage too. Look at Nier Automata. Fire Emblem was on the verge of death before Awakening revived the series.

Vanquish came out at during a very different time in the industry when everyone was chasing the AAA megablockbuster. I think the market is a lot more welcoming of niche games like it nowadays.

Can't go wrong with Bayonetta. It's a good introduction to Platinum's madness.

Their best games on Steam in order imo:

Bayonetta
Metal Gear Rising
Nier Automata

Korra

TMNT (now delisted)

MGR/Bayo/Vanquish are the holy trinity, cannot go wrong with any of them.

People might put Nier in here but they are wrong

Vanquish > Bayonetta 2 > Bayonetta > MG Rising > Transformers

That's how I'd rank em. Thought TW101 was a gimmicky turd and skipped Anarchy/Korra/TMNT/MadWorld

1) VF5FS does not have much single player content but VF4EVO has the best single player content in any fighting game
2)

3) Terrific netcode

if you're interested in the game at all, I recommend this (lengthy) video

If done properly, to me Vanquish has always seemed like the platinum game with the most potential to resonate with the PC community.

Proper KBM support and continued word of mouth and I can see it selling better on PC than Bayonetta.

Also Bayo did over 100k week 1. By all accounts that's great for an 8 year old game that probably only had 3-4 people working on porting.

I remember playing this on consoles and being underwhelmed whereas Bayo was and is great. I know it is a huge niche favorite here. Interested in giving it another go on release. More ports are def a good thing.

Vanquish with KB+M would be insane

T:D is so freakin' underrated.

The production values are even lower than for other Platinum Games but the Combat is nearly on par with their best

Super fun and very faitful to the G1 cartoons. Really quite a great game. If they only had time to develop more diverse levels, it would be even better.
