I can't decide what to read next. My backlog looks like:

Batman Dark Victory
Kingdom Come
Catwoman Brubaker vol 2
Catwoman Brubaker vol 3
Wonder Woman n52 vol 1
Zatanna Shades of the Past
Daredevil Waid deluxe vol 1 1-10
Daredevil Waid deluxe vol 2 11-20
JSA Omnibus

I love me some Catwoman and Daredevil but I have been enjoying the hell out of Wonder Woman.

In October, Afterlife with Archie is getting a Sabrina the Teenage Witch horror spinoff from Afterlife's writer Aguirre-Sacasa.

The new series is much darker than Afterlife, and the "scary stuff" is more spiritual and psychological, Aguirre-Sacasa promises. "It's a story about witches and witchcraft, demonology and occultism, so yes, the 'monsters' are going to be more diabolical.''

The horror renaissance that Afterlife kicked off led directly to Sabrina and gave the creative team permission to try new things and veer in darker directions with Archie's iconic players, says the writer.

However, for him it's not about pushing the envelope further as much as it is "telling a compelling, surprising, emotional story that's perhaps scarier and more grownup than what we've seen before with these characters. It's never been about the easy shock, it's about going deeper and peeling back layers. Sabrina will hopefully continue that."

Loving Afterlife so this is very cool.

Avengers #29 was amazingggggggggggggg outside of
I'm going to beat you bloody Cap line
Huge Civil War vibes. I was a little disinterested in Hickman's Avengers for a bit but now with 28 and 29 i'm back. Also, Hickman's Hawkeye is definitely not the same guy in Secret Avengers and reg Hawkeye book, gotta be a skrull.

Black Widow #7
Cyclops #2
Iron Fist #3
Magneto #5
Moon Knight #4
Nailbiter #2
Original Sin #3
Punisher #6
Superior Foes #12

Only non-Marvel book is my book of the week. Seriously, these lists need more Nailbiter.

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I'm new to comic GAF, but I'm into a lot of comics right now. I have a huge backlog with trying to get into the New 52 and everything, but I just have to say one thing: I'm catching up on the new TMNT comic reboot, and I must say that it is fantastic so far. I think it's right beside Batman as my favorite comic right now.

FCBD 2014 - Futures End #0

14311990746_9969191354_o.jpg

The future is here and everyone has robotic spider-legs. I guess that's what Brother Eye has done to everyone who he's infected, giving them robotic appendages. Mostly spider-legs though. The best part of the book is Batman getting his arm sliced off. I'm referring to the art and not the sequences that follows before and after that panel. Hope everyone is enjoying Futures End because #0 did nothing for me.

Cyclops #1

14333426242_ee9c82ef5f_o.jpg

I like Cyclops but I wasn't quite sold on getting his solo book. I collect Skottie Young variant covers so I do try to read all my books even when I buy it just for the cover alone. And boy, this is a fantastic issue! I absolutely love the interactions between Cyke and Corsair. Even Hepzibah and C'hod are likable characters. There are too many moments to list but my favorite had to be when Cyclops blasts a hole through the invading ship. Corsair has this smug look on his face while Cyke smiles gleefully (see image below). Such an awesome father-son moment.

If you haven't read Cyclops yet, I do have a redeemable Marvel code up for grabs. First person to request/post in this thread will get it.

This stupid porn 'stache can be seen on 3 people now - Osborn, Guy Gardner and Corsair. On all of them it looks downright ridiculous.

I feel like it works well for Corsair since he feels very much like a 70s/80s character who's fashion sense ended when he left earth.

So much truth in this. Have you got as far as City Fall? One of my favourite stories of the last year. Love how much exposure the turtles are getting nowadays, horrible looking movie withstanding.

Yeah, he is getting a 2 month break. Then October-March starts what Snyder calls their big 75th anniversary arc.

Even machines need to be taken offline from time to time for repairs and maintenance.

The day this pairing on this book comes to an end is going to be a sad one. I don't even want to think about it.

That's how I feel about Tomasi and Gleason as well.

Hey guys, quick question.

I loved Gillen and McKelvie's Young Avengers and I'm super excited to read The Wicked + The Divine this month, has anyone read Phonogram? Is it as good as YA?

I'm thinking of picking up the trades but unsure as of yet.

Honestly, it totally depends how much you like Britpop (vol 1) or day-glo mid 2000s indie music (vol 2). Thankfully I love both of these things, so Phonogram was like mana fro heaven for this music nerd. If you are super into metal or Beyonce or something you might hate it though. I think PG is way better than YA, but that's because PG is speaking directly TO ME and my tastes.

I knew there was a reason (beyond Morrison) I liked you so much Jedeye.

As hyped as I am for the Wicked + the Divine, I'm not gonna lie, part of it is knowing we are that much closer to getting volume 3 of Phonogram.

And just to add a little, due to the narrative, I think Singles Club (vol 2) is more accessible than Rue Brittannia. But by all means both are worth reading and just brilliant.

It's great, and I wasn't even a huge fan of the music when I started it. Highly, highly recommended.

Sounds like it might just be right up my alley. Thanks for the quick response, I'll pick up Vol. 1 sometime this week and read it while I wait for TW+TD.

Aw yeah taste-bros!

Yeah I think SC is way better - amazing colours, a much more personal story, hotter girls, better soundtrack. I credit PG with getting me into The Knife, I owe Gillen for that. PG also got me into Los Campesinos (favourite band) and Kenickie (because who doesn't fancy the crap out of Lauren Laverne?). Massively influential book to mid-20s me. If I had it in my teens it would have been a bible. And probably would have got me more girls than The Invisibles did.

Just about caught up on Uncanny Avengers and wondering if the annual is worth picking up? I remember people saying it's weird. I like weird.

I liked it. It was as weird and meta as you'd expect from a Mojoverse Remender story. It is completely unrelated to the UA storyline though.

I actually just started it, so I finished issue 5. What I have read is absolutely fantastic though, so if it remains like this (or gets better somehow) then wow. I'm glad this series is in the hands of IDW and the Nick show is even great! I just wish the movies were...well, you know. :(

From what people be saying on the internet, just stick to the Ghostbuster comics written by Erik Burnham; everything else is supposedly horrific.

I know they're going to break my heart, but I bought the first arc of both Ghostbusters: Ongoing and Ghostbusters (2013-).

Yeah, City Fall starts in issue #21 and it's incredible. The whole run has been fantastic and it's been great to be a turtles fan.
