Just pulled a 4-star Krile, but I already have Terra...should I bother training her up?

(I'm still using Lasswell, looking for a replacement for him)

It takes 2-3 days to clear story content in this Beta. After that you have shitloads of time & NRG to do what ever you want before release hits. If they are same account, why wouldnt you want to add it to party and raise it?

Iam raising all my units to max level, then when Friend Points pulled units are max level, I sell them. My Vaan is at 40 (max lvl for 3*, gathering mats for awaken) and I still keep him in party cause in every fight there is chance that TM will raise.

Dude you can steal and earn farplane dew way faster in the castle.

Are you sure its F Dew? I have stole a lot of Farplane Souls but not single Dews. Got my first Dew from Vortex today.

I think it's only the vortex. Once the next island opens up you can get them from the first forest roam map there but until then it's just awakening vortex. I had one drop in 15 en one, but I heard 10 en one drops them too.

Gah. I figured I'd give this a shot, and did 22 pulls.

I got Shadow x2, Duane, Bedile x2, Maria 4*, Rydia x2, Russel x2, Krile x2, Shantotto x2, Anzelm, Sabin 4*, Sabin, Penelo, Luna, Kain, Edgar x2

I already had Edgar, Shadow, Luna and Kain, so overall it's not *too* bad. I know Edgar is good, and with that his Trust is at 10% already so that should prove useful. Krile and Shantotto are also good, but I have no clue about the others.

Does JP version have about same system than in BF has with Summon Gates?

a) Is it advisable save tickets to "Special Summon Gates" that in BE cost 6 gems (here it would be 600 Lapis) or 1 ticket?
SSG = Offering for example 4-6* units and special units rate up or so.

b) Is there rate up event in future and 0 SSG thus you can blow your tickets without no fear of getting trolled by upcoming SSG?

None of those, I guess?

Summoning has never cost more than 500 lapis, couple of months into the game they even added a daily summon which is only 250 lapis. I doubt you will ever gain more for a ticket than you do for Lapis.

During new year's eve they did offer a 3000 lapis and 10,000 lapis summon pack which had some guaranteed materias along with 3 rainbows for the 10,000 lapis, but we haven't seen anything like that since then.

Generally when new character batches get added then they all have a rate-up and there's a higher chance to pull those units, it doesn't increase the chance of pulling a rainbow or gold though and most of the newest great units start at either 4* or 5* -- that started happening 2 - 3 months into the game.

Older units have gotten rate-up events too, with some events being groups of 3 characters and some events being for single specific character every day.

But this is global and it could be handled completely differently. Japan never had the newcomers deal, for example.

In japan the gold drops have become more common over time.

Thanks for the information. I guess I save tickets & lapis atleast to 5k so I can buy more tickets. Not going to pull in beta since there is no need for new characters, maybe when game launches. If they offer some good time to pull, if not then continue saving for future.

Ifrit is the last bit of story content for now, it looks like the NEXT indicator on the port town is most likely a bug.

Outside of the one time I got Ex-Death (which j accidentally deleted...) I am now somewhere around 200 rerolls without a "noteworthy" and/or "best" unit draw.

Terrible.

Makes me wonder how much it would be worth continuing after this.

If this ends up like BF then these units will become obsolete very quickly.

That's my big concern.

Story, sidequests, crafting, roam maps with hidden pathways and treasures, equipment & materia customization... and even espers.

This has been my routine the last 2 days.

I run out of energy, I log out, do a reroll. If it fails to get me who I want I just log back into my saved game, collect reward for "Complete 3 story missions" and grab a quick and easy 5 energy and 30 exp.

Before logging back into your saved game what happens if you do 3 vortex missions? It sounds like the bug is letting you claim daily log in rewards multiple times...

I just successfully stole a F. Dew from B-3 Colosseum. It was the fight with the 2 ghouls and fire elemental. Not sure which enemy it was stolen from, sorry.

On a completely unrelated one, I really wish the music for the explorable sections didn't restart every time you encounter an enemy. Some of it is pretty good. :/

Pretty much. But leveling LB isn't very important to begin with tbh. I haven't bothered with it and I rarely use LBs as I deal more damage with skills.

I thought it was the LB uses that carry over and not the level.

Ex: Going by this chart, it takes 1050 LB uses to get a 3* character to LB l.4 and 1550 to get a 4* character to LB l.3. So, if a 3* character is Awakened right after reaching LB l.4 the SB level would go back to 2 and be 1050/1550 towards l.3 (technically 300/800).

This isnt a casino and im not seeking out avenues to game the system. Fuck min maxing and rerolling

Just do friend pulls. I think you can get a free thief character that way.

How is this fun for people?

If you're smart about when you pull and are willing to put in the time then you'll end up with a much more powerful team than most people who do in app purchases for real money.

It's not so much the rerolling itself that is fun but rather the feeling when you eventually do roll that jackpot unit, much like with any gambling system, I guess.

The truly hardcore part will be the trust grinding. That stuff is no fun but you can make your units ridiculously powerful if you get those trust rewards.

None of it is really neccessary for you to complete stuff in the game though and if you get some powerful allies in your friends list you could even let those units solo any content that your group couldn't handle.
