Halo 5 Opening Cinematic

hehe, the people complaining as wanting halo to have halo 1 vibes. maybe like the vibes when we first encounter the flood.??

For me, knowing they are actually going to use the lore with the halo universe is waaaaaay better than re-using a tatic they used in halo 1. we gotta keep the story going right? ;)

Incredible opening.

I'm still not pre-ordering this until I know there are NO issues with it whatsoever, but I'm hoping now more than ever that it's fucking awesome.

EDIT: I've watched it 4 times. Ugh, please be good.

Awesome. I'm looking forward to this game more than any other this year. The beta was phenomenal and the closest thing I've played to CoD4, so I'm a happy camper.

That was absolutely beautiful, holy fucking balls. Could possibly be one of the best things ive ever seen.

Truly hoping Chief rolls in there like a freak of nature, and drop kicks Locke right in the grill.

#Teamchief baby!

This really captured the books action sequences and Halo escalation action perfectly. I got crazy goosebumps seeing Buck ground pound, and shred elites with that shotgun. Spartans are a unit, and I cannot wait to see how H5 explores that part of the lore. Where's my Blue Team?!?

There better be comparable space and scale to this Opening when it cuts into gameplay. If they present something that damn impressive, following it up with a tidy linear level will be a major buzzkill. The huge sandbox should be rocked straight from the beginning.

If there isn't a Blue Team equivalent...

Unless they're the old fashioned "we don't need any of this fancy-ass jumping down mountains shit to be the best" types.

this is so far from the HALO bungie created, sad day for me :(
The way those spartans move seem closer to the Halo fiction than anything we've seen in the games. That actually has me excited, because there has always been that disconnect between the larger universe of Halo and how that world is represented in the games.

Can't breathe

You said you would be willing to answer questions on the trailer so here is mine: the trailer shows off a lot of the new gameplay stuff like thrusters, ground pound, etc. It also shows a more "actiony" highjack of a ghost (or at least kicking the rider out of a ghost). Is this representative of an in-game animation or just something that looked cool in a trailer?

Eh....,

What the fuck happened to this series? I know it's a team of Spartans, but this feels like the 'everybody is a super-saiyan'/'Jedi's can force-push armies' levels of ridiculousness. Sword elites turned into pushover scrubs? It honestly just feels like lazy writing/directing when the mentality behind creating something thrilling/awe-inspiring relies on 'watch how utterly POWERFUL they are!'

It also robs the characters (even past characters like Chief) of their ability to be special/impress. Because when everybody's special, nobody is.

Remember the 'bet you can't stick it' moment?

Yea, my sentiment too. The Halo story really should've been stopped after 3.

Fans are still going through this one right now, considering in the universe a lot of soldiers are becoming Spartans now.

That's the point though. These are the newer, younger Spartans with lots of spunk. I take it the Blue team will be more reserved, yet still powerful in a sort of experienced way

The music and everything up until they landed gave me nerd chills. Then it felt a little too much like the Avengers AoU opening cinematic for my liking.
