Please GAF, don't make a big deal out of this and embarrass yourselves. It's a recruitment agency and it's their job to make the offer look attractive.
Way too late for that.

probably i think studio gobo is working on fable, they're using the unreal engine only makes senseI'm not saying it's Fable...but Its probably Fable.
Like Skyrim with robo-dinosaursSo what makes HZD a far cry rip off? Crafting items with animal and enemy parts? Clearing out enemy camps? Climbing Towers? I can think of another game that fits that description pretty easily.
Probably just a game with a similar environmental design rather than one with a similar premise. Interested to know if it's single player or a service game.
Phil: Yo Horizon looks good let's make a ripoff
Rare: Say no more fam
Horizon seemed like Sony's answer to Scalebound tbh. Scalebound just never made it.

You're kidding lmaoHorizon seemed like Sony's answer to Scalebound tbh. Scalebound just never made it.
Fixed.Nice, see you cancelled in 2-3 years.
Why would a Sony game be an "answer" to a game they refused to fund and publish?
Horizon was in production with the robot animals premise long before anyone knew anything about Scalebound.Horizon seemed like Sony's answer to Scalebound tbh. Scalebound just never made it.
If any game needed to be 'answered' it was definitely Scalebound.Horizon seemed like Sony's answer to Scalebound tbh. Scalebound just never made it.
If you are being serious, I'm pretty sure Horizon was in development before Scalebound was announced...Horizon seemed like Sony's answer to Scalebound tbh. Scalebound just never made it.

Scalebound was announced way back. These companies plan to compete sometimes. See Tombraider/Uncharted.
Damn, good point. This actually makes a lot of sense..Maybe they where told "its like Horizon" because they meant Forza Horizon but the recruiter went with Horizon ZD because it was the only one they actually knew about.
You didn't answer the question though. Platinum Games pitched Scalebound to Sony first and were declined. So why would Sony care?
So much MS/Nintendo hate on gaf lol. Sonygaf has pretty much turned neogaf into gamefaqs in the past 3-4 years.
You will.
Sea of Thieves is no new IP?
Grain of salt.
MS potentially securing PG's second game is the big news, here. Not some overreaction to a poorly-constructed recruiter pitch.
I didn't know that. Looks like Sony made the right call on that one.
Sony: MS has nothing like Horizon! They can't compete
MS: Hold my beer
one in 7 years.
MS: "We need someone to design a large outdoor environment"
Recruiter: "Sure, I'll make that sound appealing"
Gaf: "MS is making a knockoff game that is going to be [dramatic zoom] actually bad

No. This is not one of those situations.Sony: MS has nothing like Horizon! They can't compete
