Thanks for the responses. I am indeed in UK, where the game is listed as being Vita-compatible:

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en...-psp/cid=EP0006-ULES00025_00-GPCNEEDFOR000001

The fact that all the e-mails I've gotten in response have said "but the game does work on Vita!" kinda back this up as well.

I'm gonna wait until Monday to see if I get a response from this latest e-mail, and if not I'll give them another call and just try to be a lot more firm about getting a refund I think. I guess trying to emphasise the fact that it's not working as described and that's what sold me on the game.

And once that's sorted, I've got my second uphill struggle with ThrillVille: Off the Rails, a game which I bought of UK PSN which is completely in French...
You can always try quoting the Sale of Goods Act 1979 at them: The Goods don't match their description.
I guess the fact the goods were misrepresented (and are still being misrepresented) means you could try mentioning the Misrepresentation Act 1967 too but that's an unwieldy instrument and I don't know how you'd actually go about leveraging it.

1. no such option exist man. Both devices can use the save clouds so if he clicks the plus icon while you're with ps+, he can download it. His saves can overwrite yours if you've checked the auto-upload saves to the cloud function, so better uncheck it in his system.
Just tell him to not upload his saves or else you're out of luck. I experienced this unexpectedly when a friend uploaded a newly created save in SAO:HF which erased my high lvl save, now I'm not even playing the game.
2. No such option exist either wil. Besides why would you deprieve him of earning achievements lol.

thanks cardinal.
quite disappointing to know that there's no way to just turn off PS+ entirely on the Vita :/

achievements aren't a problem actually... I don't really mind him earning it. lol.
but he doesn't care about them - I care more... so I rather I get the chance to unlock

Vita account sharing really doesn't sound like a good idea to me in general.

it does have its complications... but with my library of Vita games... he's more inclined to jump in...

If you're gonna game share on the Vita, just make it so one of you is playing offline/not connected to the net.

guess I'll look into it.. probably locking his Vita to flight mode... but that would mean no means of downloading games, etc :/

2nd that opinion. But since Sony allows up to 2 Vitas, I will not stop Wil.
@Wil, just make sure your friend knows that your PSN account balance is your real life money. It might not end well when the spending starts.

no worries about that - I'm the one with the password and the buying anyway xD

It's three, actually. They don't say it anywhere IIRC but the allowance was bumped when PSTV was released. ;)

Yeah, I've thought about using Sale of Goods before (I actually have a law degree :p). But I don't want to come across too arsey while they're still trying to fix it, but after that last e-mail I'm convinced they're just trying to mess me around.

Never heard of the Misrep Act before though!

Upcoming english Vita retail titles (NA/EU/AS):

- Lost Dimension;
- Dungeon Travelers 2;
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel;
- Corpse Party: Blood Drive;
- Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space;
- Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls;
- Superbeat: XONiC;
- Ar nosurge Plus: Ode to an Unborn Star;
- Norn9: Var Commons;
- Code: Realize Guardians of Rebirth;
- Xblaze Lost: Memories;
- Persona 4 Dancing All Night;
- Deception IV: The Nightmate Princess;
- Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence;
- J-Stars Victory +;
- One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3;
- Sword Art Online: Lost Song;
- Hyperdimension Neptunia ReBirth 3;
- Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax.

Mindblowing, isn't it?

It's been a great year for localizations indeed, especially considering this is just the lineup for the latter half of the year - the first half was already packed.

I'm guessing/hoping 2016 will be a lot like this, just a bit less. We've already got 2 games confirmed (World of Final Fantasy & Trails of Cold Steel 2), and I'd bet on stuff like Stranger of Sword City/Tokyo Xanadu/Makai Shin Trillion/Neptunia Zombie/Luminous Arc Infinity joining them.

That said, I thought 2015 was going to be like 2014 with localizations but a bit less, and it's actually outshone it. So who knows what'll happen.

You better set a checkout password confirmation. Your friend can't just wait for you to connect the Vita online to download patches. Besides that, your friend must see that abomination of PS download list. It will determine if anyone will join Sony's ecosystem.

I thought both PS TV and Vita allow up to 2 device each because PS TV is not a handheld?

Need to spend at least $10 more by tuesday night. I'm still eyeing that Diablo 3 mostly for remote play but i'm also considering rolling the dice and seeing if they maybe have a better vita game sale tuesday.

So I've been using the PS4 Media Player app as my main way of enjoying my personal media collection in my bedroom via DLNA... and it's got a lot of issues. My server regularly hangs because of it and/or refuses to serve media, it's causing issues with my router, and it has a bunch of shitty options (seriously, no audio or subtitles button?).

Going to try building a custom encoding script to transcode everything on the fly instead of just letting it try to play the "compatible" files and transcoding others. It doesn't actually know what it likes and can/can't play, which is causing more issues than it's solving for me. Half my media that plays file on PS3 won't even start on PS4, and it can't even see AVI files. :/

-sigh-

Sony and their half-baked features. They should've waited til the kinks were worked out or had a beta period for testing, 'cause this shit be broken pretty bad.

Is it possible to move the PSV backup file (not individual games, but entire card backup) from PC to PS3 then restore my Vita it from there? For reasons unknown, my Vita randomly disconnects for 0.01 seconds while I'm restoring via PC USB. Connection is ROCK SOLID otherwise.

Tried both CMA and QCMA.

Since sony doesn't give a fuck about the Vita anymore they should just go to town with PSN sales. Give us some awesome flash sales regularly.

As others have said, they've firesaled most first party properties once or twice (sub $5), and they have no control over non-first party prices/sales.

Yeah, I've thought about using Sale of Goods before (I actually have a law degree :p). But I don't want to come across too arsey while they're still trying to fix it, but after that last e-mail I'm convinced they're just trying to mess me around.

Nah, they're not trying to mess with you. They're probably just sub-contracted and have no clue about the products, like 90% of companies nowadays. That said, in the US, I've had to deal with Sony customer service maybe three or four times and they've been wonderful.

Nope, there isn't.

I'm very excited for Ar nosurge Plus, it's almost too much to bear. I hope I get the chance to review this little gem, because I couldn't possibly wait for my copy to arrive before I give into hype and spoil myself somehow.

Tecmo-Koei with Gust made me worried before, as T-K does rapid fire of their IPs. But seeing the recent games which the two seemingly collaborated, I now have hope for it.

I will probably read that review when it happens but I won't be there day one for the game since the wallet has been properly allocated for other games.

Ended up having to cancel my pre-order for that game sadly. More excited for other games than that one right now that I'd need the money for.
I blame that one thread. I'm now somehow a Wii U owner.

Hopefully the LE is still in stock when I do have the money again. If not I guess I'll be waiting on a flash sale for it.

Currently in Japan for my job (~2 months). Failed to pre-order Persona 4 DAN in Geo (which is the nearest shop in my way to work/home) as they were no longer accepting pre-orders for the LE. Found a not-so-near Tsutaya in my place.

Bought a used SRW Z3 Jigoku hen. Disappointed the case(plastic cover thing) was full of scratches, but the first print bonus inside worked. So that's nice, LOL.

Wait V. Chronicles 2 averages at 40-50 Hours o_O
This is gonna be a long backlog :V

It's so good though. Screw the haters, still my favorite VC game. Was surprised how little I enjoyed VC1 compared to it.

------

Just beat Dead Nation on vita the other night. All things considered the port isn't that bad. The biggest issue is the lighting but everything works well enough that it stays playable throughout. Was expecting worse from what I had heard ages ago.

Did you enjoy the PS3 version? I put in about 20 hours before I lost interest.

I'm uhm-ing and ahh-ing about getting the LE before it runs out of stock, just because if I did want the game in future this is the only way to get a physical copy.

At this point I'm just waiting for the release since it's still in stock and see if that shop will have enough copies.

I'm not even bothering, I ended up dropping the Ciel "novel" halfway through because I lost interest in the plot, and I can imagine that Ar would just be more of the same.

I am however debating whether to get NepReb3 of not. I was promised by you guys here that the rampant spikes in the game are only something that are on Reb1 so yeah

I play games for their gameplay, so I'm skipping cutscenes in this thing in favour of getting into battles.

Would really like for VC2 to get ported on Steam though.

Yeah, I'm surprised the LE hasn't sold out yet, I thought for sure it would've gone fairly rapidly.

I have a friend who's offered to ship the game to me, but I'm seriously debating whether it's worth paying $60 + shipping fees for this title. From what I played of the PS3 version, it's good but definitely not on par with Gust's other stuff.

I just read on some vita hacking site that PSM is a good way to hack the Vita. In that case could it be hackers and not Sonys fault that PSM will be shut down?

c
! Been really curious about that game and yet I don't even launch it on my vita. Maybe now I'll try it.

Been wasting 8 hours trying to platinum Danganronpa. Arghhhh...this luck based trophy is the worse!!!

Still didn't get it btw.
The MonoMono Machine one? It's not exactly based on luck, you can get what you need if you want.

I was going to try shipito but, yeah, if I can avoid using it it'd be great.

Care to explain? :)

If they cared enough for any reason, they'd put the effort in to curb the "hack" - since the PlayStation Mobile service is shutting down they probably don't care enough to try and block it through actual work, as that'd be both costly and give little reward.

Basically, the hackers in this case are hedging their bets on the fact that it's "too late" for Sony to invest resources in blocking it, and therefore it's "safe" to release.

Hotline Miami truly is best on Vita. And it's $2,99 on PSN iirc, so go get it!

Retro City Rampage is also good, and it's really big for a 39mb game.

Gravity Rush is great, but would be better without so much combat.

And P4G was great, but it crashed while playing and then the whole game got erased from my Memory Card. Lost about 7~8 hours of gameplay. And I didn't upload it to the cloud... Won't be replaying all of that beginning any time soon, though. Gave up on it for the time being.

I just read on some vita hacking site that PSM is a good way to hack the Vita. In that case could it be hackers and not Sonys fault that PSM will be shut down?

As far as I know, the PSM hack has been possible since years ago, but it was kept private (never released) because the guy behind it didn't want Sony to know about it (and thus potentially kill it prematurely) and also wanted to see if the other efforts from other hackers ended in a native hack (that never happened, not yet at least).

So, when Sony decided to kill PSM, only then the hacker decided to make his hack public, seeing that Sony indeed doesn't see PSM as something that can still be viable. So now the PSM hack is in open beta. There is not even an SDK for it yet. And the hacker has also stated that this hack will only allow for homebrews and emulators and will not allow piracy, simply because PSM works in its own sandbox and doesn't have permissions to mess with the native Vita stuff.

So that's where all this is now. Still in very early stages. And nothing about this was even mentioned until Sony announced they were taking down PSM.

It truly is. I'm still salty that the japanese physical release will only come with one game on the card. That box art is amazing..

Yep, I was considering using them too. I'm just worried that anything like that will make shipping costs spiral out of control, whereas site-you-mentioned should be reasonable (I checked how much it would be to order the PS3 LE to UK, and they quoted £5.00, which is great).

So I think I'm gonna hold off and see if I can nab it when they get some in.

If you guys didn't check out the new thread in the gaming section, Shantae: Risky's Revenge PS4 and Sudiken III is a PS2 Classic; both are coming with this weeks PSN update.

This is great news, as the former never landed on PS Platforms before (and this could hint at Pirates Curse coming to PS Systems) and the latter shows hope that latter tittles in the that series coming to PS Platforms (Sudiken IV and V being the next ones this year :)?).

By the way, for anyone interested, in ongoing Sony dispute saga I got this response yesterday:

"I understand from our contact that you have encountered issues when attempting to download the above named title to your PlayStation Vita. I have referred your case to the relevant team for further investigation and someone will be in touch when more information is available to us."

Well, it's better than the last response at least...

Mmh, so there is this close friend I have. He has a PS Vita. Yeah, right. I'm sure the poor bastard has some messed up sexuality and will finish sooner or later on a watch list. They are all the same anyways, this console should just be outlawed.
Anyway, this close friend needs a memory card, a big one surely to store a few Go of underage porn if you ask me... should be neutered already... And he wants to know where he will be able to find the cheapest 64go on a reliable site.
I ask this for him for old times sake. Next time he speaks about this dirty piece of unholy kit I call the police.

My, browsing Vita topics on Gaf sure is an experience.

:l.......

The most common way to get the 64GB memory card is through Amazon, as you can order JP Memory Cards and not have to pay high amounts of shipping (Amazon usually covers that cost).

Hope this helps you somehow.

Any chance of EA Replay being playable on Vita? I noticed it's available on psn and I'd looove to play Road Rash and Desert Strike on my Vita..

Good god. There is a small but real possibility someone took this seriously. I was joking. I tried my darnedest to be the most hateful and narrow minded I could.
Still the question is legit, I need a 64go asap and had heard people talk about some good japanese store like... I don't recall, and that's my point.

Like I said before, Amazon is a great site to go on for a 64GB Memory Card. You have a lot of buying options through them and while I never ordered it through them, I got books and other things from Amazon and they delivered them in a nice time-span (2-4 days).

I thought you was serous....so sorry about that :l. Its hard to tell if someone is joking or not online, so its all cool :).

Thanks for the advices, I will look at amazon.fr and yeah, while still armed robbery, superufo price is nice. Not a cheap thing to buy but I need to replace my 16go and forget I ever used it. Good god, being able to store several big vita games and a host of classic RPGs...

Ok, thank you both for the clarification. The only thing I want is PC streaming in a tolerable framerate, but I guess it has to be done natively as PSM don't let developers use the full power of the Vita?

I think the PSM hack allows for native code execution, but still limited within the security constraints Sony put in place on PSM. Which pretty much means just homebrew, but higher performance than what you could develop officially through PSM.
