Sounds great. Hopefully they're also turning up their effort on some new IP.
The only UHD player on the market is $400. No chance it has a UHD blu Ray drive.
It will probably have 4K playback though.
Ol' Wade was wrong. It has a UHD BD drive.I thought it was reported that it does have a UHD BD drive? It's not like the actual drive is very expensive.

The one thing that confuses me:
"The PS4 is stronger than XB1, MS are doomed."
"The Scorpio is stronger than Neo, MS is still doomed."
For those on the power bandwagon, why is suddenly power no longer relevant?
BruceLeeRoy said it wouldn't be there, then Matt said it wouldn't be more powerful than the Neo.This was a few days before the conference.
How things change!
BruceLeeRoy said it wouldn't be there, then Matt said it wouldn't be more powerful than the Neo.
This is why I don't speculate about such things before it's revealed.
I think people are worried about cost?

I think so, I'm not exactly sure though. Are they not both 'Sony insiders'?

Remember these new models will likely be expensive. PS4 beat Xbox on power AND cost. Scorpio may only be playing the power game. Neo also may be coming much sooner which could be to its advantage when upgraded multi platform franchises are rolling in.The one thing that confuses me:

How much is the Scorpio going to cost? If its going to be massively expensive then its going to be bad idea.
Heck when the PS3 first released it ended up being a bad idea due to how expensive it was.
I mean having great specs isn't bad but if its too expensive consumers aren't likely to dip.

I think the first statement was the cherry on the cake of the whole 2013 reveals; with the second, for me anyway, while more power is always better you still have to compare the ecosystems as a whole, power is just a component consideration. The one thing that confuses me:

Because it is not the sole reason ps4 is beating xb1. Ps4 was cheaper and powerful. Neo will still be cheaper than Scorpio considering the power difference next year.by the time the power difference starts to make a difference Sony would have the ps5 coming outThe one thing that confuses me:

Yup, it'll probably take ages for developers to make the 6tf version of a game look better than the 1.8tf version of a game.
But then if PS5 is more powerful... won't it also take the same length of time for the power difference to make a difference?...

Are you guys seriously convinced power alone is going to make them the desired console? The xbox brand is not strong outside US/UK. Cod, destiny, star wars and now marvel with spiderman are still going to be associated with Sony and Playstation for the foreseeable future. All xbox games are going to be on PC as well so I am not sure what makes Scorpio a must have console. If you guys are suggesting MS is going to dominate with Scorpio, please tell me how they will do it.MS's intentions to be closer to PC's has been clear, so MS will likely have another Xbox ready around PS5's launch provided there is good power jump there.
Also consider Spencer said he had design docs for an upgraded Xbox One, but decided to move forward in bigger numbers to target 4K and high fidelity VR.
All signs point to them not falling behind in power again.

How if PlayStation has marketing rights with those games?Did marvel confirm it will only release its games on Sony console, or was it only the spiderman game?
Cod, destiny and star wars are multiplat titles the strongest console will be the one
associated with it. Current gen obsession with resolution and frame rate will help with it.

Smooth transition and not having to buy the game again will make sure friends and ecosystems carry over to the next playstation system especially with marketing and exclusive deals for cod, destiny. Spiderman console games are exclusive to Sony for the foreseeable future as per marvel.Did marvel confirm it will only release its games on Sony console, or was it only the spiderman game?

This is what I agree with.MS will not catch up to Sony but this may brong some people back and maybe gain some lost ground and kee Xbox relevant

The only way I see this panning out well for Sony is drop current PS4 price then bring in the Neo at ~$400. Making it cheaper than Scorpio is essential.

Power is always relevant and the hardcore will gravitate to the most powerful console provided the software experiences are there. The one thing that confuses me:

To those talking about the marketing stuff Sony has with Activision for COD, Destiny, etc: That is usually tied to whichever console is doing the best. Last gen it was the 360 and we saw all the exclusives and such for that system mostly. This gen it was fairly obviously early on it was the PS4 and Activision jumped there. If the scorpio outdoes the neo, whats stopping Activision from jumping over to the scorpio at that point?
The only game in that list I see sticking with the Sony bias is Destiny, because of the background of Bungie and Microsoft splitting and I doubt Bungie wants to have to go back to giving Microsoft exclusive perks.

Xbone: always online, power, and price vs PS4 = doomed
Scorpio: 4K only, confused messaging, premium price likely, year later than NEO = doomed
No one is saying the power alone dooms the consoles.
The above is also mostly untrue, like the always online part, but it's the message they're sending. The message is where Sony have been playing Aces since 2013 and MS keeps failing miserably.
Yet Sony and MS did catch up to Nintendo after the Wii.
Anything can happen. Looks like this thread went from the specs talk and excitement of new power to why MS is will never and can never be the go to console for gamers.
I'm finding less and less reason to get a Neo at this point. I'd rather put money towards Scorpio for all its trying to do. Neo feels like a half measure.Xbone: always online, power, and price vs PS4 = doomed
