Thanks man. I don't know how she puts up being with my ugly ass, though.

She hates the hair I had in those recent pics, but there's not really much I can do to dress myself up. All of our friends told me I looked like Vincent Vega when I had my hair like that, as I apparently bear a resembelence to Mr. John Travolta in Pulp Fiction.

Eh, what the hell, I'll open myself up to a little of that trademark GAF ridicule. For some reason this picture wound up looking like I had mascara on or something. I can assure you it's just sleep deprivation. Also, it's resized to the standard desktop resolution of a 1995 computer. For all the ladies out there to use as a background, you know.

Well, I generally don't get involved in these pic threads, but I haven't posted a pic in about 4 years, so I figured what the hey. I am very self-conscious, so I rarely take pics (I've taken perhaps five pictures in the past 8 years; I allow my relatives to take pics of me, though, mostly my grandmother since she's always begging me to take them :P), so please keep the laughter to a dull roar. :)


This first pic was taken by my grandmother last Christmas eve (not this past one, the year prior) after I came home from work (yes, working on holidays sucks :P), hence the white shirt (I was waiting tables at the time). I had my usual "winter 25-30" on at the time (meaning pounds) so my face is a bit pudgier than usual, and I was sporting my usual ghastly pale winter skin tone as well :P -- okay, okay, enough excuses, I know (told you I was self-conscious :D):

This next one is my most recent driver's license pic, which was taken this past March; I'm still about 20-25 pounds overweight in this pic (225-230 pounds as compared to my usual 200 or so; keep in mind that I'm 6'1" and very broad-shouldered), since I usually lose my weight from around May onward (due to activity in the summer) and tend to keep it off until about November/December. Sorry about the "grain" on the pic, but that's the texture on the license pic once I enlarge it enough so that people can see it. This pic was taken the day after I had gotten a particularly wretched haircut, and I was very tired at the time (I usually don't have the blank/sleepy expression seen in the pic). By the way, the black outline seen behind my neck and lower jaw is a shadow cast on the background, not a mullet of any kind-- my sides and back are always trimmed. :D

Well, that should just about do it for another several years. :D The weight mainly affects my cheeks, so for about half the year my cheekbones are a lot more "chiseled" (i.e., hollowed out) than you see in these pics, and for about half the year it's pretty much like this give or take 5 pounds. :) Again, sorry about the quality, but I do not take pictures, so the selection is limited (my grandma doesn't have a digital camera, or even a camera made after 1995, for that matter :P). It'll have to do. :)
 
Heh, Loki even writes a mini-essay for a picture thread. ;) Just kidding man.

Well, the driver's license photo looks.........like a driver's license photo. I guess there's really no avoiding their curse.

But you look pretty good in the Christmas photo, in my admittedly worthless opinion ;P. No need to be self-conscious, IMO.
 
Thanks, Boogie. :) Yeah, I didn't really want to write an "essay", but like I said, I'm quite self-conscious (it's a curse :P), despite the fact that I realize I'm not ugly by any stretch. A paradox of sorts, i suppose. :P So I just sorta threw out every qualification and rationalization I could before I posted the pics. :) Believe me, I debated long and hard about posting my pic here, especially since it will likely end up on some <ahem> "other" forum being mocked. Oh well, what can you do, right? I figured everyone else has posted pics, so what the hell. :)

Thanks. :) I didn't post my pic to hear things like that, though, just so people know-- there's a reason why I haven't posted a new pic in over 4 years (probably closer to 5). But I consider many people here friends (in an online sense), or at least acquaintances, and this place is something of a community, so I figured why not be real with one another? :)
