The 34" looks tempting. If I buy that I'm good on this feature?
You wouldn't want the 34" because it is 21:9 and Scorpio is going to output in 16:9 4k/1080p res so most of that 34" is just going to be vertical black bars.

Everything you said can be added with a firmware update (maybe not FreeSync but HDMI VRR for sure)
Good luck finding a FreeSync TV.
So, going forward all games should have an unlocked frame rate mode that'll take advantage of this.
No more 30fps cap.
Can they firmware in a UHD drive? Cause if not fuck off.

Maybe calm down a bit? I've been banned for less.
No it won't, the HDMI 2.0 port supports 18 GB/s bandwidth, not 48 GB/s
for now, there are monitors
the latest game consoles supporting VRR will give more incentive for TVs to support VRR down the road
Will backwards compat 360 games benefit from this?

It will support HDMI 2.1 when it is ratified, which will be before Scorpio launches.
No, it's a hardware thing you can't patch bandwidth with software. HDMI 2.1 is just a text on a paper right now....
don't most console games have v sync on though, making this irreverent?
Wait let me get this straight. Now all of you are going to buy 1080p free-sync monitors? LOL

Come on, I obviously meant in terms of hardware and tech. Which does kick the shit out of any other console.

HOW BOUT ALL THEM FLOPS!

Whoa, relax, man. I've been banned for less. The new UHD Triple X and Transformers movies are alomst hereCan they firmware in a UHD drive? Cause if not fuck off.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00WUACDIU/Digital Faundry stated yes in the video, but again until there is a TV that supports FreeSync and/or FreeSync 2, you will have to hook the Scorpio up to a PC monitor that supports it. Those monitors right now only do 1080p. A 4K PC monitor with FreeSync would be very expensive.
Yeah, most games are locked to either 30 or 60 fps
Huh, it's hardware and tech really don't "kick the shit" out of all other consoles. It's still very much like the Pro overall in terms of tech and power.
Article says Freesync 2, and that (aside tighter requirements for frequency range) is all about lag-free changes to the HDR meta data. So I'd say yes unless it's gimped in that regard.Actually while this is great and an actual megaton, could someone ask Dark if that means that the Scorpio supports variable HDR?
I thought it did, as there was no mention on the Amazon page. Had to google some review which stated it didn't.Does it support Freesync over HDMI?
It has 2xHDMI and 1xDP.
I'm a Sony guy, never been on Xbox...thinking of getting a Pro but not any longer now. I'll not be getting Scorpio either, but man. Scorpio is far superior to the Pro.
If I was a neutral and I had money, Scorpio would have been my pick.
Yep hopefully it make them salty enough about the lost of marketshare to bring that mobile implementation over to desktop.Hopefully this finally tips Nvidia over on their desktop cards as well. I've been waiting.
Good news for gamers going forward, even if most won't be able to take advantage of these features for a year or two. It's going to be really interesting to see what Sony does with the PS5 and what MS does after that.

Going to hunt one down cause I need to buy one soon.
