I've heard that quite a bit actually. I think my want to purchase the sequel has more to do with me wanting to reward the dev for removing GFWL from the first - but since I've played neither and haven't heard the nicest of things about the second that plants it firmly in a 50% off or more category for me.

Dark Souls 2 is good, don't listen to the haters.
Or, you can listen to the haters because all opinions are important, but know that all souls games are more or less equally great, and better than 90% of all other games.

That's the only opinion that matters.

Listening to Polygon's Quality Control Podcast and the reviewer said he literally teared up at the thought of having to finish Escape Dead Island. Wow and lol. Can't wait for the inevitable free weekend.
So... It sucks? Cause if it does I called it ages ago. Dead island is a shitty franchise, why they're trying so hard to make it into a big thing is beyond me.

How dem elephants? Is there any new weapons you get in FC4 that wasn't in FC3?
I was sold after one of the first missions you can use an elephant to roflstomp people, lol.

As for the guns, I think I remember reading there's a few extras but I can't remember all of the guns that were in FC3 to be honest to tell you one way or another XD

Because the first one sold okay numbers, and now they're trying to milk it for all it's worth apparently.

Giant Bomb has a Quick Look of Escape Dead Island, if you're interested. It doesn't seem nearly as dire as everyone is saying, unless the game gets worse later on.

It may not be a good game, but it seems far from being one of the worst... Not when Early Access exists.

As I wrote the Polygon reviewer makes it very clear that the game gets worse and worse, super boring + frustrating. So basically like every Dead Island game.

This is the truth. Even if Dark Souls 2 was a little more phoned in than I would have liked, and doesn't always match the first one (except in vistas... there are some really great moments here) it's still a Souls game, making it better than most games by default.

Add in the DLC that addresses those complaints in design and you're golden.

Fuck me sideways. I just found an old SteamApp folder that contained 124 GB of installed games I had forgotten. I always thought about why my hard drive is always so full lol

Oh, I didn't realise that he had finished it from your words.

Dead Island was rather bad, so I guess it's not surprising. DI itself is a janky, repetitive bore - so EDI appears to live up the first game's standards.

You know, I bought Dead Island (1) and I don't even know why. I didn't even have a controller (at the time) to take advantage of the combat gimmick. Their dumb, misleading trainer must have influenced me more than I thought.

I try to keep my installed games 20 max. That's including games not from steam. They eat up too much space

they were working on it (steamdb) last week, but nothing official after the announcement last month. Maybe for the sale? pls.

I have my savegames backed up. I'm wondering if I can just plop them into where they need to be, rather than actually having to login to GFWL. I really don't want to install GFWL and login.

beowulf is really fun from what ive played in the beta , i will definitely use him when is completed because i only use characters that are either masked luchadors or characters that do moves similar to wrestling moves like suplexes and stuff :v

and they also region-locked it right from the get-go ... I'm sure that helped with the sales ;)

Yeah, I have mostly less than 10 at a time and a lot of them are small Visual Novels I want to play... one day. It's jst that I changed the directory of steam at some point and apparently didn't thought about deleting the old one. Now my HDD feels so clean.

Time to download some porn.

I remember buying the original when it came out on ps3. The main focus of the game(co op) didn't work for like the first week. I beat the game by the time it was fixed. I'll never buy any thing with dead island in its title or a spiritual successor

Obvious avatar quote here.

My wishlist is unorganized :V
I have 100 games on it but some are games not released yet, and some are indies that could go for like $1 in bundles, etc.
*looks at wishlist*
~closing in on 700~

-_- I need to go through that don't I. And to think I have about another 100 games not wishlisted but bookmarked...
This next sale will probably be much more confined for me anyway. Let's see if I can save something up till winter sale.
Compared to summer sale, does winter have better deals? This summer was my first sale, so I can't judge.

That's an amazing giveaway. There'll be lots of happy people for sure ;)
Anyway, Friday night I started DAI with another character, because something about the jaw of my previous one kept bothering me :p
Is it not possible to change the face after having started the game? Seems like something that could have been easily implemented by the devs.
-
BTW, we only have two games for next month :p
Games / Gaffers:
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes - Dr Dogg
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - Uzzy
Man, DrDogg almost every month takes a game. That's dedication. On that note. haven't seen him lately here.

So you got an email (eventually) which had the key in it?

Don't listen to the haters.
I spent 161 hours with Dark Souls II, got 100% of the achievements, and I haven't even gone back for the DLC areas yet.
I loved every minute of it and it's currently my GOTY.
Correct - it took hours to arrive. And now the charge has disappeared. I'll have to check if it's still activated.

I figured I'd list my NASCAR 2013 spares on eBay but it's proving to be such a headache. Basically, I have to use the eBay US/UK site to do so since eBay AU doesn't offer international visibility at all, however when creating the listing both the US and UK sites pull an ancient e-mail address -- one which I haven't had access to in almost a decade -- from god-knows-where and set it as the payment address. Said address isn't mentioned anywhere in the account settings and shows up regardless of whether or not there's actually a PayPal account linked to the eBay account. The only possibility that comes to mind is that the address is the one I used to register the eBay account way back when, but again there doesn't seem to be any way to change it, and adding the address to my PayPal account is a no-go as I'd need to confirm it before it could be used to receive payments.

On eBay AU I can simply change the address to something else when setting up the listing, but this isn't possible on other eBay sites for some asinine reason.

The plot of FFXIII is so bad that even characters can't understand it.

"We need to do it because we need to do it!"
"It's all so confusing!"

or

"Bacause Serah wants it"

Initial cutscene of Chapter 10 explains this better.

And, it only gets worse with FFXIII-2... basically, they forced the sequel by adding time traveling stuff and all those crazy things (still going to buy it again lol).

Oh, and guys, I was wondering. KOF 98 UM was supposed to come out this month, right? But, I guess that there isn't anything official yet?

Can't you sell them for your projected price in AU ebay?

eBay AU doesn't offer international visibility, so the only people who'd see the listing are those who search for it on eBay AU. I've already tried selling them on eBay AU a couple of times now, of course, but despite getting a handful of views I didn't sell a single copy.

It was there in DA2, in one of the free DLCs. You could go to a mirror and change appearance. I don't know why they didn't bring it back.

Actually, I don't know why something like this isn't in every game with a customizable character. It could have saved me hours of restarting ME1 for example :p

Seems being isolated from the rest of the world does indeed have its negative side effects :p
I recall a website which specifically focuses on game sales. Can't recall the name though sadly :( But mainly collector-worth stuff.
Let me check my bookmarks quick. Only a couple thousand entries. Maybe when I find the page your games will have become collector items ;)

EDIT: Wow, I actually did find it faster than I thought. It's http://www.gamegavel.com/
Maybe you'll have more luck there as it is games focused. Should be enough visibility. If your games are in mint condition, it should be even better.

The first area of Dead Island was really good, I had a lot of fun there.
The second area was alright I guess, nothing too bad but also not very good.
After that I only remember sewer levels. (Literally)

Time traveling can be a very good or very bad thing. But please, don't say me that, I really hope to have fun with FFXIII-2.
EDIT:Shit, I watched the New Adventure trailer for FFXIII-2, the first thing the video does is spoilering FFXIII ending :l

> Doesn't want spoilers.
> Looks up direct sequel's story trailer.
> wellplayed.gif

Kidding. That blows, but luckily the ending for XIII wasn't anything too unpredictable.

Mad I missed out on that uPlay Dragon Age deal :O
What was it? I paid 48 for the DDE from Mexico before it came out. Which is a lot but I am enjoying the game quite a bit so it's alright. Although buying Unity, Inquisition, GTA V, Smash, and Sunset Overdrive in short succession was incredibly silly given how little time I have with 60 hour plus weeks.

It's actually better in a lot of aspects, but weak in others (like story and characters IMO). You'll also notice it's lower budget (less CGI, a bit less quality cutscenes, etc.). But, don't get me wrong, it's still pretty fun if you enjoyed the first one.

Oh, and sorry to hear that. Basically, don't watch anything about FFXIII-2 or LR if you haven't finished XIII, as almost all trailers have story spoilers and you won't understand anything anyway :S

After going from a few games just before my first summer sale this year to now over 300, I wonder how much the autumn sale is going to hurt my wallet.

No one knows.

We have been following it in this thread.

The long and short of it, there's a hybrid build in there now that could be the migration build (description: g4wl + patch), so you could maybe assume that you would need to login to g4wl and select your saves to be migrated from the in-game menu.
The most recent change was that the steamdbuild debug branch shrunk down to the size of the actual game, possibly signaling something, maybe debug is (close to being) done? Draw your own conclusions. :p
There was also a stat schema change not too long ago with stuff like "stats/importedGfWL/displayName:" in there. Could have something to do with importing pvp leaderboards.

But no official update yet on whether the November timetable is holding.

I wasn't paying much attention to the autumn sale in previous years - are the deals usually good, or would I be better off waiting for the winter sale in most cases?
