And I suppose that's part of the problem. You don't see yourself as part of a cohesive group, meaning there's no specialized support group to fall back on. Nothing feels like it's for you because everyone's invited. If the alt-right's the one that'll celebrate them for who they are, their societal advantages be damned, I can see how people might flock to them for that piece of identity.

Poor parenting and poor schooling are probably core reasons behind radicalism in the West. Perhaps not lack of education per se, though i would not be surprised if a lot of these were poorly educated, and probably poor as well.

It is difficult to anything about parenting, but schools should be able to act as checks against poor parenting. At least i assume that is where self-esteem issue stem from, in some form at least.
Of course, the solution here is money, something the powers that be are unwilling to use. As with so many other things that could be solved or alleviated in principle.

I was just thinking yesterday, King of the Hill did an episode where Bobby was encouraged to go online and do research on his heritage or something like that. He and Joseph ended up stumbling upon a white supremacy site. And you can guess how it goes from there.

I have long held that white men such as myself have a moral obligation to smash and remove racists both rhetorically and physically at every opportunity. That any black person can show compassion for us after everything we have done is a humbling social miracle that should have inspired any decent white man to have nothing but driven malice and contempt for the racists among that defile that grace. That grace is the element that the white man has lacked, not power and to throw it away is to throw us all away. I'm not sure that will help - the anger stems from lack of sex with women (and more specifically 'hot' women), and more sex toys would do nothing but amplify their feelings of inadequacy. Regardless, there's no excuse for their behavior. Countering existing radicals is difficult but countering it in the future is theoretically easy. I say theoretically, because the solution involves considerably amount of money and creating responsible school system that includes psychological observation and help as needed.

Obviously no system is 100% foolproof and there will be people slipping through the cracks but that should never be a reason not to try. (Some people really like to fall to perfection fallacy.)

But the reasons for entering these echo chambers lie in person's life and upbringing and environment.
Self-esteem issues are one reason for radicalization. Why do people have self-esteem issues? Upbringing and environment almost certainly affect this.
When you counter that, you counter a lot of reason for joining echo chambers.

As i said, countering existing radicals, those who already live in their echo chambers, is difficult, perhaps impossible. But countering future radicals can be done, but only if there is will to do that.
