I think you guys are going to be seriously disappointed when this comes out. Taking this long to release the game pretty much tells me that they are having not just technical problems but creative and gameplay problems too. Games that have taken overly long never do so well, GT PSP, duke nukem come to mind. And also fumito ueda has left which means so how can that be good for the project?

Alright alright, I'm now convinced it's fake. Thanks for crushing my dreams, GAF. v_v

But, it IS happening at this E3. I can feel it.

Search your feelings.. you know it be true

Guys.... Seriously? Stop acting like that list has any basis on reality. It lists Star Wars: Battlefront III, Watch Dogs (a game that will already be released by E3), and a DirectX12 trailer for Christ sake. How many red flags do you guys possibly need?!

Not to mention I've yet to see or talk to any PR/dev or publisher that would actually list the things they're about to show in such a haphazard way. Typos in it, too. Are people really thinking this list is legit? Seriously?

so now what...? whats going on here..?

why has it to be fake for sure? because of bad Japanese grammar?
If the tweet is real.....i mean, this Arata dude is followed by yosp AND Ueda himself.

It's not "bad grammar". It's written is a terrible and unnatural way, as if the person who wrote it was just starting to learn Japanese... Or used a translation software.
There's really no room for debate here.

Why is this thread still open I don't know.

Bioshock Infinite.

Also, Ueda is still working on the game.

Ueda is still working on TLG. He's just not employed by Sony

It can really go either way. Half Life 2 and Resident Evil 4 are two games that received lengthy delays, but they're both considered classics. While there are others that have ended up being disappointing. We really won't know until it finally does release. One thing is for certain, there were very real technical problems with the game. I'd suggest that you go back and watch the footage that was featured on the ICO/SotC HD Collection. The framerate is terrible at certain points in that video. And that was from footage that they actually thought was okay to show to the public. So, you can only imagine what the rest of the games performance could look like.

A bad game is bad forever, a delayed game is potentially good.

I imagine the game was shown off MUCH too early :/ And due to the leak they rushed a trailer and we've been 'waiting' since 2009 or so, lol. It probably doesn't help that they've had major hiccups during development that we've heard bits of on here from Sony insiders.

Yeah I was seriously disappointed with Team Fortress 2 after Valve worked on it for 9 years.

Though I'm not really a fan of Team Ico's games and I'm not interested in this game, just because it's been in development for a long time doesn't mean it's going to be disappointing.

I firmly believe Last Guardian will be present. Otherwise they are pouring resources into a money sponge while closing infinitely more productive studios. I love Team Ico, but shit or get off the pot already.

No, but I've been learning the language for a long time living in Japan for what's it worth.

But really, anyone with a decent grasp of the language would immediately notice it's just fake.

HL2 says hi.

People really hate themselves. The Last Guardian cycle is as depressing as people that still believe Agent is anything but vapourware.

Can't wait for the expectations after it's not announced at E3. "It's a better fit for TGS anyway"

I remember the same thing happening on the steam forums whenever a big event was coming up: "Half-Life 2: Episode 3 will totally be announced! Oh wait, they're just not ready yet, but they'll be ready at the next event!"

Japanese doesn't make any sense. 99.9% fake.

This. That's not how you say "I hope you are doing well" in Japanese
And the first part says something like "I can't wait to see #E3 Man-Eating Eagle, Toriko show"? Nah. Why would "E3" and "show" be separated by a title?

Did you also say that about Red Dead after the years of silence? What about LA Noire? Or Versus XIII?

Games take time, some more than others.

Unlike a lot of other games though, there are people at Sony commenting about The Last Guardian's progress every so often...

The most recent update was from 2 months ago:
The Last Guardian – the PlayStation-exclusive title from Team ICO which has now been in development for some eight years – is still “absolutely in the mix” at Sony, according to Scott Rohde, one of the men in charge of Sony’s roster of fully-owned studios.

In a conversation with IGN, the topic of The Last Guardian came up. “You’re going to be very frustrated by this answer,” Rohde said, “but it is 100 percent the God’s honest truth, and that is that we want to make great games. And when we see that the public is so interested in a specific game, of course that drives us to want to complete that game. But it also drives us to want to make it great. We would not want to ship that game if we don’t think it’s great.”

Later in the conversation, Rohde noted that he “actually like talking about The Last Guardian. I love that people are still interested in it. That’s an honor to us. That’s not just me spinning… It’s really cool that people are still interested in it, and we’re trying to make the best thing we can out of The Last Guardian.”

Hopefully we get to see the fruits of their labor :(

The difference between Agent and The Last Guardian is that one was announced with a backdrop at E3 and then never referred to again, whereas the other got a full-blown trailer and has continually been mentioned by Sony that it's still in development. There's far greater hope for TLG to make a comeback and actually get released.

Seems an obvious one to me. Sony are on a roll and will want to keep that going at E3. TLG is an easy way of creating internet hype and more positive chatter by doing very little.

At this point I would be more surprised if we didn't see it, or it at least gets a verbal mention.

It would be such a shame if they didn't show a ps4 version of this game. I was glabbergasted with the trailers back then. Seemed to be an emotionally involved magical beatiful game.
I'd love to see it return
