Dang that be some good sales...so 2 million on PS4 alone??

If the ratio of UK sales is same across the world [smaller difference in US, larger win for PS4 everywhere else], then most probably yes.

Crazy. I've been enjoying the game so far, but it's still missing something. Hopefully more sequels with a lot more content!

I think Sony have picked the right games for the marketing tie ins this year. Both Watchdogs and Destiny will likely be the two biggest selling new franchises introduced this year.

Congratulations to the team at Ubisoft. Folks keep asking for new IP's and Ubisoft delivered with a AAA title that clearly hit a chord with gamers.

Sony must also be ecstatic. We only have UK numbers so far, but PS4 was 49% of all Watch Dog shipments in the first week. Sony probably has a higher share in the rest of the EU. We will get US data later this month (NPD report).

It will be interesting to watch Watch Dogs and Destiny battle it out for #1 new IP in 2014. Unfortunately for EA, Titanfall has proved to be a very far behind laggard.

Hopefully Ubisoft is looking closely at the next gen/last gen console splits. In the UK, 76% of all sales were on next gen. Watch Dogs 2 really needs to be next gen only.

Seems like Ubi's target of just over 6 million copies lifetime may be an underestimation.

Four million in the first week is insane for new IP. They'll blow by their target easily. For us, we should just hope that the inevitable sequel will be its Assassin's Creed II.

I have destiny pre ordered... but I don't fully understand what it is :p

I want to experience a Bungie game.

Playing it finally and having a lot of fun with it. I'm glad personally. I'm a big ubi supporter and I like pretty much all their games. It would be interesting if they did rotational with this AC, far cry.

congrats on the marketing department.

Indeed.
I can't believe how talented these marketing people are.
They always manage to make games like FC/AC/TC, and now WD, look enjoyable and have a unique experience even though it is another soulless gameplay from Ubisoft.
Bravo, well deserved sales for a new IP.
Can't wait for the next annual release of WD!
Hope WD2 is an actual upgrade like AC2 was.

Damn that's impressive. Can't say I've enjoyed my time with the game though, hopefully W_D2 has a more interesting character and story.

Even with the performance problems I'm experiencing on the PC I've still had a lot of fun playing it.

Congrats to all the individuals that worked on this game over the years.

Great for ubisoft. I'm always glad when a new IP sells well.

The game lost appeal to me but I'll pick up the inevitable sequel. If AC is anything to judge by, the second game will be the best.

Huh, good on 'em. It's nice to see a new IP do well, especially when it's a third party multiplat.

Only grabbed my copy today, so there's one for the week 2 tally.

Wow... this is the most passive aggressive thing I have read today. Also, what does gameplay with soul even mean?

LMAO, EA said they were confident in their next gen forecasts. Dumbest thing they ever did making titanfall available only on xbox. Destiny and Watch dogs will be two mega franchises that will now be associated with play station.

Out of curiosity how much more content do you want?

main missions
convoy missions
drinking game
shell game
hot spots
privacy invasions
ctos towers
ctos server buildings
multiplayer racing/hold the package type game
random crimes
random hidden packages found from scanning
extra songs found by scanning
qr code finding
fixer missions
having people infiltrate your game or you infiltrate them
a crafting system
a variety of drug trips
and stuff I can't even remember.

For fuck sake what do they have to do to please some of you.

Ubisoft is the winner of the beginning of this gen.

First they delay Watch_Dogs giving it more time and preventing it from cannibalizing Black Flag's sales

Then they release Black Flag, which was actually pretty damn good (definitely my favourite Assassin's Creed),

And now Watch_Dogs launches in the perfect time of the year to reap both the benefits of the hype and the empty release calendar and, once again, it's a great game...

Well played Ubi, hope they will keep it up. Their open world games with pleasing visuals and tons of enjoyable content are right up my alley so I'm very happy they're doing well.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Incredible numbers for a brand new property.

My estimates were between 2.5-3 million - glad they are successful.

This was the perfect time to release, practically nothing out atm and is long enough after Infamous not to cross sales with that too.

Gotta give em props though, great numbers.

I guess fly planes, make the world bigger?

Honestly, there is more incentive to engage in the side content with W_D over GTA.

Although, I wish they made more gang hideouts instead of fixer contracts.
