Watch_Dogs sold (to consumers) over 4 millions units during its first week

Indeed.
I can't believe how talented these marketing people are.
They always manage to make games like FC/AC/TC, and now WD, look enjoyable and have a unique experience even though it is another soulless gameplay from Ubisoft.
Bravo, well deserved sales for a new IP.
Can't wait for the next annual release of WD!
Hope WD2 is an actual upgrade like AC2 was.

yep, amazing sales for the newest iteration of Ubisoft Open World: City Edition.

I didn't like it, but regardless, 4m in a week is impressive.

I really hope they start alternating WD and AC (and other IPs) to ensure quality, but it Ubisoft so...

there is no way ubisoft can do a yearly asscreed + watch dogs and far cry every 2 years.
as soon as asscreeds sales will start to drop (i think they already did with black flag), they might go with an alternating release schedule.

I could see potentially games releasing this time of the year now (in terms of big AAA releases) considering how successfull this game did at this time of the year. I bet other Publishers are taking note.

I might wait for a price drop after hearing the PC version is still a mess. I bought it on PS4 but returned it because I didnt know if I could deal with 900p/30 when I have an elite PC that can do ~60FPS and 1080p

It's pretty good now, so long as you run on high textures. Hopefully the upcoming patch will fix that.

Its not really surprising considering that there are no high profile games for the next three months, but still its an amazing achievements.

I don't care about the game, but it's always good to see big numbers for a new franchise.

Well done.

We still have no numbers whatsoever for Titanfall ??? Is it really the worst of the "Big" launches this year ?

New IP launched in May with great sales figures. Now only if more AAA games didn't feel the need to all come out in the same month during the same time every year...

Although, I wish they made more gang hideouts instead of fixer contracts.

there is another one the gang hideouts. I love those. Those are what actually taught me how to better use my arsenal. if anything my complaint with watchdogs is at first it seems difficult (without just blasting everyone you see) but once you start getting lures, jam coms, etc the game opens up so much.

Why don't more companies follow this business plan? Ubisoft did it with Assassins Creed too last gen when the consoles launched with jack shit for games and they hit the market first with the first real new game for the console. It pays off immensely.

Out of curiosity how much more content do you want?

main missions
convoy missions
drinking game
shell game
hot spots
privacy invasions
ctos towers
ctos server buildings
multiplayer racing/hold the package type game
random crimes
random hidden packages found from scanning
extra songs found by scanning
qr code finding
fixer missions
having people infiltrate your game or you infiltrate them
a crafting system
a variety of drug trips
and stuff I can't even remember.

For fuck sake what do they have to do to please some of you.
You forgot you can also play chess

Wait... what? You can do ALL that in WD?

Ubisoft to release games yearly now and run it to the ground. Assuming it follows Assassin's Creed route though the next one should be the best one. And not having to worry about old gen consoles they can optimize textures and lighting.

Watch Dogs in the Spring, AssCreed in the Winter.

I love how even in this thread people are salty about these sales for literally no reason other than it's Watchdogs.

Suck it.

My favorite hack is hacking someones explosives. Its so god damn satisfying. They either die and take some one out, or do a happy accident and throw it towards a heavy.

Also, I've gotten used to the driving. I like the tankiness of the cars. The thing I could stand about GTA V was getting nudged would cause you to spin out.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of developers were watching this title to see how well it does as a new ip.

Hopefully, this means we get more new ips in the near future and it isn't just GoW15 and CoD127.

Well now we will have Watch Doges976 but you get my point.

Congrats Ubi for duping the entire gaming community and not delivering on initial promises....have an onion
game is fun, just don't pull that desired render shyte again whipping everyone into a frenzy and sparking a yearlong free marketing spree for you

You mean how haters and trolls are just loud and obnoxious as usual.

Even in the downgrade threads there were still reasonable people who thought it looked pretty much the same as 2013 gameplay or didn't think it was a big deal.

Still looks great for, and more importantly it runs well which is new for sandbox console games coming from last gen.

Yeah, that part really amazes me.
The final game doesn't look as good as in 2012 or in the PS4 reveal demo, but the "downgrade" happened before E3 last year, and every single demo since then has been pretty much entirely representative of the final game.
I don't understand why people had to wait for one random trailer to suddenly freak out. This whole thing is really weird. /shrug

Yep, it's a good game. I don't have it yet but I will buy it eventually for PC, probably in the fall. Ubi did good here, except for the misleading marketing with the graphics, but despite that the game itself is a good one. I hope it keeps selling strongly.

And that spider tank gif is awesome!

We always get new IP's at the beginning of a generation. The new IP's end up as the franchises for the new generation. By 2016 we'll probably be back to stagnation.

I had a blast with the story and I'm currently working to 100% the game. A solid outing for the first game in the franchise and looking forward to see what city they pick next.

Is it possible to have sold to customer numbers already?

NPD for May would have ended on Saturday and I'm betting they got some notice on it.

Well the funny part is we had gameplay from Septermber 2013 which looked pretty much the same as it does now, but only in March 2014 did people complain...

Why?

1 shitty gif!

EA said they wouldn't be releasing sales numbers for ANY of their games anymore, people with an agenda took that as Titanfall underperforming and no one knows how well its done.
