Someone somewhere at Time fucked up majorly. I'm guessing Nintendo were holding these for the reveal.

It's the Time website, so no reason to think it's fake.

Anyways: CHOO CHOO MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!

Nintendo almost always teases their big announcements pre-keynote -- probably gave Time an exclusive to ensure they got coverage in a more mainstream publication.

I remember the official release announcing the original Wii coming out a few hours before their presser that year. It's kind of standard for them.

Well, small scale projects are what Miyamoto had said he'd like to focus on going forward, so it isn't that much of a surprise. I could see them being titles that were available on disc as well as downloadable depending on how extensive they are and what Nintendo thinks about their sales prospects (possibly at $20-$30 rather than full price).

Yeah, it makes sense that their smaller based on what Miyamoto's said.

Wow Nintendo cannot be happy about this. They needed to wow people with a surprise. RIP Time, nintendo ninjas are coming for you.

Is it me or these games look like smaller titles......like eshop titles. Maybe its because 1 is apparently episodic and the others are still experimental.

Yea it doesn't look like a full fledged new Star Fox game which is a shame

It sounds like it might be an episodic release based on one of the quotes posted earlier, which could actually be an interesting way to tackle that franchise, with new missions becoming available regularly rather than having long waits between new games.

Read part of the interview (before reloading the page.. why did I do that?)
They have been working on SF for 6-7 months for WiiU, previously they were trying to do it for Wii for like 4 years but it just didnt work with the controls.

This leak is gonna hurt them. People getting excited for AAA starfox and that's not what were gonna get probably.

I'm not sure if the Gamepad is the best fit for the franchise, but Miyamoto and his team are top-tier developers and I am rather confident the final product will be excellent.

So, yeah, fun announcement.

Hmm, seems Star Fox has been experimented with for 6-10 months on Wii U.

EDIT: No, it seems all three started then, but they used assets and ideas from when they experimented with the idea on Wii.

Reading the article, it's not necessarily separate projects. He talks like Giant Robot and Guard might become part of the Star Fox game.

On the one hand I'm psyched to hear about Star Fox (finally!), but the controls sound tiring and impractical to me. I guess Wiimote controls would negate the purpose of featuring the Wii U controller, but IR would be much less of a hassle...

And please God, let it be a completely new fully fleshed out game. I don't think my heart could handle another remaster/remake/reimagining. Time to move ahead with the classic IPs instead of leaning so heavily on games that are a decade + old.
