If I had to prioritize - assuming literally every Smash Bros. character is getting an Amiibo - then I'd probably opt for Sonic, Mega Man, Little Mac, Captain Falcon and Shulk first. Not sure what order of those five, but they're the ones that interest me the most.
There was an interview where they asked if every character in Smash would receive an Amiibo, and the answer was, "That's the plan." So if you expect a character to be in Smash, expect to see its Amiibo at some point, as well.

EDIT: Although I do wonder how they'll handle Mii Fighters. The three stock Miis on one circle? Or separate ones to summon specific classes?

Mr. Potato Mii? Could work given their design.

Ha, so they'd sell all of the facial features, hairstyles and skin colors separately? lol

Back to the figures, DK's figure has an insane amount of detail, but he was my least-used character in Smash (despite the DKC series being godly).

But maybe if I train a DK...

I'll try and get some amiibos when they're made available. But if I can only get one of the characters that have been revealed so far, it's up in the air between Palutena and Rosalina depending on which looks better made.

Am I the only one here with absolutely no interest in owning figures (regardless of how much I love Smash Bros.)?

Yeah, give them items and they just fall apart. There are actually a lot of cool things you can do with items. I did all sorts of crazy shit in melee, its an extra level if comitment though. I would do shit like grab items like the green shell dash dance into foes. Throw up the green, grab the foe and toss them up into the shell. I'd really enjoy competetuve Smash with a limited assortment of items, but when it comes down to it, the competetive scene is just memorizing frames and practicing the same techs over and over.

Have you ever played a sport? Particularly a sport where you're facing another person?

Zero interest. I hate clutter. If prices would drop to reasonable levels, I would go all digital this generation easily. But I am slightly more of a cheapass than I am a space-curmudgeon.

Depending on how much they cost, how useful they are (for games other than smash) and how rare certain ones are, I will buy anywhere from 'just zelda ones' (no matter what) to ALL OF THEM with 'only the rare ones' somewhere in between.

Like if there's a limited 'dark pit' amiibo, i'll definitely try to snag that one.

Nope. I'd hate having to find a place to store them all. The actual feature they're attached to sounds boring and if it wasn't boring I'd be angry being forced to pay extra to access that feature so even conceptually I'm against these figures.

I'll probably buy all of them but my top 6 amiibos will be

Marth
Ike
Jigglypuff
Chrom
Captain Falcon
Shulk

Did 6 cause I couldn't not have Shulk

It may be like Disney infinite where they release character tokens with the NFC chip inside. The fact that they weren't showcased makes them unlikely though.

I'm not too crazy for them, and even then, I don't consider them looking that great

But once others drop, i'll most likely have the thought of getting them.

Falco, Ice Climbers, Mr. Game & Watch, and would probably get Shulk.

im interested in some but like some have said mine depend on price and rarity although i will probably jump at a palutena amiibo or a greninja one

Amiibo are dangerous.
Everyone will start with their favourite characters, then add another and another and another ...until it gets to the point of "Well i may just aswell complete the collection".
And at that point so much money will be spent.

I think Amiibo could be quite a success if well advertised, i wonder how well will Nintendo handle them.

Nintendo was a toy company before, don't forget that.
Maybe I won't get everything but I'm hoping for packs, at least an obvious one like the game + 1-3 figurines.

Basically, yes. That would be funny to see.

Captain Falcon Amiibo to unlock C.F in Mario Kart 8 confirmed?

;-;

Chibi Falcon (Mario Sized) to fit in Mario Kart 8. Like Image below of this statement. Why Not?

I'm glad Smash 3DS is coming out first for the amiibo's sake. This way I get to figure out who'll I'll want to be my amiibo buddy and not just splurge on all the characters I like.
...
Okay in all honesty, I cannot see myself passing up Little Mac or Yoshi figures

Actually, in one of the E3 interviews, didn't they say there were plans for a system where people can order custom Mii amiibos for a higher cost?

So apparently someone recorded the press reaction to the Pac-Man trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfD8vo7G_os

Or they could have shown it at the invitational and got a stone cold pop

WHAT THE FUCK

WHEN

WHO
Probably Hax, lol

HOW

Edit: I just realized how much this reminds me of Marlinpie going off with Rapid Seismos back in the day in Marvel 3.

random crazy technical fox

wait til hax and mango start doing these things...

;-;

I was thinking that due to amiibo being something that's likely to carry over to their next systems and Mother is the only series with a playable character that's more or less dead. The director doesn't want to work on it again and I think Nintendo said that they won't make another without him.

Stuff like F-Zero is dormant, I don't think it's gone for good. Star Fox is getting a game next year and the last new title was in 2006. I'm sure they can shoehorn WFT into another Wii Fit game or something similar. The same goes for R.O.B. and Game & Watch since they can put into a game as cameos.

Oh, I forgot about the Ice Climbers. Even so, Kid Icarus came back so who knows.

From the anounced amiibos so far I'll probably end up buying:

- Fox
- Pit
- Kirby
- Villager
- Samus
- Link

Also I will probably buy Sonic, Pacman, Ness, Megamen, Little mac, Falco, Captain Falcon, Olimar, Luigi, Chrom and if possible my personal mii if they ever get one amiibo.

I'll probably go bankrupt.
