Peggle 2 coming to Ps4

I actually *do* get what you mean. Peggle is, in fact, just a background with dots on the screen. There's nothing about it that couldn't be done on a phone, sure. The gameplay is fundamentally simple, the graphics are too, and for some that makes for a greatly entertaining game. For others, they look at it (and a number of other indie titles) and wonder what they're doing on their nice new next gen hardware. I can easily look past presentation for a fun gameplay experience, others can't, and that's perfectly fine.

Hey, guess what? Some people paid $20 and felt like shooting a ball at pegs wasn't worth the cost, and maybe feel a bit irked. I friggin' love Peggle, but c'mon, where are you coming from that he shouldn't be allowed to say what he feels about the game?

Pretty sure I've spent more time in Peggle 2 than any other game on XB1. Wish I knew how to check playtime per game, like Steam.

You know, now that I think about it, I'm pretty surprised PvZ2 has shown up on anything other than mobile yet.
It is factually a console game. You can also have the opinion that it shouldn't be a console game, despite the fact that it is.
I've been guilty of that before with other games. I've even been on the receiving end of that as a game dev. To say a game maybe works on phones but isn't a console game is just another opinion.
He can say it shouldn't be a console game, but he can't say it's not a console game.
One is a nonsense opinion, the other is just nonsense.

Surely you saw what he meant: that Peggie 2 is a game much more suited to being on a phone than on console, and that playing it feels like playing a game one would typically play only on a phone.

It's "more of the same" (to over simplify), which is a very good thing. Enough new things to make it feel fresh, but there's only so far you can go in the "drop a ball on pegs" genre . It's totally worth getting though.

Nah, this is a game to go digital. Very little resale value, long shelf life, great to quickly dip into without going to find the diskRetail release is a nice surprise.

Dude it's way more than just 'drop a ball on pegs'. It's crazy how differently you approach levels based on which character you're using. 3-balls guy (I forget his name, Johnny 3-balls??) for instance causes some really wacky shit to unfold on some of the tighter levels.

Woooooo I loved the first peggle so this is awesome news for me. I also agree that saying it doesn't belong on a console doesn't make any sense at all. Ok, it's for short bursts. So? Those types of games have been on consoles for awhile now.The first Peggle was on console, so were games like Geometry Wars, GW2, the PacMan Championhip games, Pokersmash, and there is Resogun on the Ps4 right now with Geometry Wars 3 available on ps4 in the future
iirc both the popcap games were always declared as "coming first on xbox"
there is no permanently exclusive thing that was "brought over", and my guess is that there wont be one either.
getting to play this 9 months ago is the total of the benefit (or even get it for free with EA Access -you can include as a platform benefit too),
but peggle reaching other platforms at some point, I am pretty sure it was a given for everyone.

This thread turned out entertaining but not in the way I expected. Yes, Amirox is right in his central argument about this being a console game, regardless of it's apparent simplicity. However, his agitation is somewhat disproportionate to the importance of the matter in the grand scheme of things, even taken in the context of a gaming forum, discussing gaming things. Lol.
Correct, I didn't literally mean that this game isn't a console game not able to be played on consoles. My point, which I know anyone could understand, was that this is not a game that is worthy to be on a console.
I was watching some stand up comedy last night, and one of the last acts to come on was terrible, not funny at all. All I could say to myself was "This isn't fricking comedy, this is shit." Obviously it's classified as comedy, he's on a comedy show doing standup, but to my standards it just wasn't comedy.
