That they've already bought? What retailer won't cancel a preorder at this point? I caved and bought the digital PS4 version a few hours ago to play at midnight, and that just means I won't be picking up my physical Target preorder tomorrow.
What? They don't, everything is region free on X1. I can easily buy songs for Dance Central in the US despite owning the German game.

You can buy a game in the US store, and later buy DLC for it in the UK store and it will work.

Pretty sure that, from what I've read, you're describing the way it can work on PS4 and not X1, though I'm sure there are regional limitations in place determined by publisher.

Yep, that's one of the really big things that are better on XB1 than PS4. That digital service difference should have been known before release of the consoles when such things spread like fire, so maybe there'd have been enough shitstorms to get a 180 from Sony.
Now it's too late and Sony doesn't give a shit about the few people who know how great it is.

So, since Im completely retarded and was actually interested in whether or not dlc works with versions of the game from another country (contradicting reports in here) I just bought the standard digital version from the hk store.
I already owned the digital guardian edition (us) and I can now play destiny, it seems it applied all my digital content from the guardian edition correctly (can be seen under "manage game" however Ive jet to claim them in the tower but I doubt there will be a problem.
Sp I can confirm that this does indeed work, all for science.
Well, would have spend 100€ on the guardian edition in Germany anyway now I spend 95€... still a stupid thing to do, I know and realize that.
Hopefully I will be smarter in the future.

There has to be something done about game releases. The fact that I can go on twitch and watch people play the full game already or people can buy it from another region and play it while others have to wait until 3am is insane.

Almost every game release, countries outside America (i.e. contain most people on Earth) have to wait until Friday to get the same game.

many digitial games have released at 12:AM EST(9:00PM PST) And seems pretty unfair to make Eastern time zone wait till 3AM regardless.
possibly, though Bungie said the servers were fine with they did the free to everyone moon mission thing, when they had more people on their servers at once than any of their games before. Though his could be a decision from the Sony and MS, as Bungie says.
umm.. it has nothing to do with digital releases. This has been a thorn in gamer's sides since.... damn, like 1985 probably. Region locking. Regional releases. Censorship. Pricing differences. etc
Sadly it will never change. Too much money and government involved all the way around for it to change. Some progress has been made on pricing (mainly mobile app stores, GoG, etc) but most of this stuff is still all a fucking pain.

It releases at the same time for all US regions. That means changing your clock won't do anything. It releases at 12am pacific for the US no matter where you are.

I agree, makes no sense to make people on the East Coast wait until 3AM. For many people, they could have already went to the store and back and installed the game (and started playing) before the game unlocks digitally.
It won't work, otherwise the DLC would have downloaded...
