You mean like a 5000 post thread that stood around for a week about Tomb Raider?

Or maybe it was that thread for seemingly two weeks about Destiny parity.?

Or that thread with how Xbox fanboys cried when Sony got exclusive Destiny content?

so sorry we're not as mature as console gamers. Maybe we should only complain about shitty games and worthless dlc

Actually, R* delayed Episodes of Liberty City on PC because the console version wasn't ready. The logic from them was "it just wouldn't be fair".

R* has always been a console first developer anyway. If the console version isn't ready that probably means their PC version wouldn't be ready either. Should it be surprising that they would go ahead and release the console versions first? Heck, most of their development resources have probably been allocated to the console version all along. For it to release last doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I don't think we should get upset with them either because at this point we should always assume the PC version will come last. What do you really expect from a developer who puts their emphasis on consoles?

Disappointed at the delay of the PC version, I hope we get clarification as to why this is the case, since I think the transparency would help to at least try and ease some concerns people have.

I agree, anyone who buys this is a CHUMP!

I'm a chump.
like a chump hey.. like a chump heyyy..like a chump!

The only reason why that was delayed was because Sony Computer Entertainment told them to edit some of the in-game media content (in-game station, TV, etc.). It wasn't for an actual technical reason.

Technically, the GTA series started on PC, but for all intents and purposes they are a console developer. But just because we know that they put emphasis on consoles first doesn't mean instances like these don't or shouldn't upset us. We're not upset because we're surprised, we're upset because R* continues to pull shit where the PC gets the short end of the stick, but on consoles they never get the short end of the stick. Again, I don't see what's so hard to understand that people are upset at this unfair treatment. We can and do assume that the PC version will be last and treated the worst, I don't see how us making that assumption automatically mean we shouldn't get upset about it.

I don't mind waiting two months more but...

"See! We go through the effort of making a PC version but no one buys it! We don't know why. Let's not bother in the future."

Fuck right off with that PC release date.

This right here, is the one thing bothering me.

PC release completely misses marketing push, and many pc gamers with a PS4 (or even a XBO) will simply settle with the console version just because it comes out sooner. Such a shame...

The trailer had some pretty impressive fur on the dogs. And that Orca looks amazing.
Also did the original game
have that UFO abduction scene? I don't recall ever being beamed up

Hope the PC version doesn't allow you to adjust traffic and pedestrian well beyond what is capable on most peoples PCs so people can't claim it's an unoptimized piece of shit again. Then again most PCs now should be able to handle that unlike when GTA4 was released.

It still runs bad to this day regardless of how high end your pc is.

For you.
For that to happen the decision makers at Rockstar would have to be console warriors. So according to you, they're putting their love of the new consoles ahead of their desire to make money. Think about that.

...erm, it's the other way around. They will make more money this way.

I wonder what the res and framerate will be on the PS4/X1 versions?

will it be a destiny or metro redux kinda of difference, or complete parity?

Why do people think, R* gives a shit about the PC? Just because their PC version are always released as the last?

Actually I think R* cares the most about PC. So far, the PC version of every GTA installment has been the definitive edition with a bunch of exclusive features only found on PC.

Just to refresh your memories about the exclusive PC features:
GTA 3/VC/San Andreas
  • custom mp3 radio station
  • custom player skins
  • Replay feature
  • better graphics/sound (obviously)
  • (SA only) pics taken with the ingame camera are saved as screenshots on your HDD
GTA IV
  • Independence FM (custom mp3 radio station with commercials and DJ announcements)
  • powerful Video Editor
  • 32 player multiplayer
  • better graphics/sound (obviously)

And the exclusive PC features of GTA V are already foreshadowing. Video Editor has been confirmed. Furthermore, why do you think they specifically said "up to 30 players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One"? Because the PC version will most likely support a higher player count than on consoles once again.

Then you know what? They can release the game day and date with the PS3/360 and release the updated version with extra features like they are with the PS4/X1. Or you know...release the only first on the PC day and date with the X1 and PS4. Rockstar doesn't care about the PC gamers when it comes to GTA, that's pretty obvious.

Not sure on GTAIV but the triple pack on og xbox had custom radio/tape deck/CD player and some extra effects compared to PC such as addition of rain drops to the screen/lens in vice city/gta3

And yet they are releasing it on PC and also already started working on updates to San Andreas on PC just over a week ago ... http://steamdb.info/app/12120/history/

PC delayed to 2015.... :(

At least it's coming... I think. Still sore that Red Dead Redemption hasn't made it over to PC yet.

I'll be double dipping, but skipping the PS4 version, I can wait a couple more months to play it on PC.

I think a remastered version will be in the works followed by a full blown sequel on the consoles. They'll probably do the same with PC, but only for the money - they hate PC of course, and don't want to do it

Yeah old games suck bro. They are super old

You are right. Just slight more than a year after original launch, after all platforms, even thought it probably was in development way before current gen consoles, after all the console warriors spoiling the game on PC threads over the internet. Not old, not delayed.

I hope Watch Dogs U will be 60$ too (or even more!) so I can be happier paying this fair price for this slight delayed not-old-game that I already played. I love giving companies money they don't deserve. Is what a company fanboy do, right? Support companies stupid moves @ full price even when the company in question is one of those that shit on your platform of choice (GTA delay, GTA IV performance fiasco)?

Just saw the new trailer. It's like a whole new game. I don't remember or I've never seen half of the stuff they showed
Almost everything is in the original game. It mostly just showed graphical updates.

I'm a pretty avid/daily GTA V player and my biggest disappointment was that they showed or announced almost nothing new.

The graphical updates are amazing, and there's a few new cool things. New guns and damage system will make shootouts and car chases cooler. The new clothes, photography and shooting range activities are fine. Most of tose things are similar to basic free GTAO DLC though. I was expecting genuine new story or heist content...

Game already looks drop-dead gorgeous and has a ton of random missions or non-crime activities. It's biggest flaw was not enough free roam crime activities to do in that beautiful world. And it still doesn't seem like they really added any new content to that end.

I still play GTAV every day, and I'll pray it on PS4 day one for the next year, too. So, you know, we're talking about fandom problems which are hardly pressing. But they've really added nothing that makes it a 'new game' so far. It's a far prettier game but it's almost purely been graphical updates.

Those here who are chumps raise their hands

** raises hand **

Finished the campaign twice on the 360...Can't wait for Nov 18th to roll around so I can finish it for a 3rd time on PS4

How does it feel to be a complete chump!

I'm a chump too, and I love it.

Well, GTA IV is pretty badly optimized from what I understand. My computer isn't great, but I still expect 1080p 60fps without having to put nearly all settings on min, and even then I got crashes after getting past a certain point in the game. I believe Rockstar still hasn't patched out GFWL either. The older games have badly implemented widescreen modes (i.e. aiming reticule in the wrong place), weird things that sometimes result in missions being much more difficult than originally intended when you unlock the framerate, and SA crashes for me if the "save pictures as screenshots" feature is enabled. If I recall correctly none of those games had any options for anti-aliasing either. There were also some questionable control defaults, and some pointless "features" like mouse driving, but at least those can be safely adjusted or ignored.

I'm sure there are some other issues, but that's just off the top of my head.

Releasing on the PC 2 months later... I'm sorry but that isn't acceptable after they didn't release the PC version when the 360/PS3 one was released last year.

Without blowing your load over this game being the biggest and best ever, explain to me why this isn't an issue for other developers?
I never said it was or wasn't an issue for other developers, but prioritizing the new systems to get them to launch by this holiday and giving additional time to deal with PC centric bugs makes sense.

Especially with how bad most of Rockstar's PC ports have been over the years.

GTAV use the same engine as the less resource intensive MP3, so if you are having issues with the latter, I would not set my hopes high.

The only real experience I have with Rockstar's PC ports comes from GTA. I have Max Payne 3 on Steam, I just haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

I'm not against having to turn settings all the way down if it means I can get a good resolution and framerate, but I feel like other open world games such as Arkham City, Skyrim, and Saint's Row The Third gave me better visuals for the same or better performance than Grand Theft Auto IV.

I realize that these games aren't exactly comparable, but I still feel like GTA IV should be giving me better performance based on the visual result I'm getting.

From R* in the comments section of their blog post:

We're glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTAV and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon. We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTAV to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible. Please do stay tuned as we reveal new features and information about all the new versions in the weeks ahead.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
Man can't wait for for Nov 18...will def preorder for PS4.

Sorry PC guys. I hope that your version atleast comes out with a lot of shiny graphical options for you to tweak things above the console version. And is properly optimized for once. It really must suck to be treated like a redheaded stepchild, but i guess those 20+ million sales on the consoles every iteration made Rockstar biased.

Just for the record i'm not joking, i really hope everything goes well for you guys.
