Max payne 3 had a good port though. If the port is still crappy even with this delay then I don't blame you for complaining, but I'd give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt this time based on MP3.

Max payne isn't gta and tends to perform well in comparison with any of the 3 titles vs the 5 we have for pc with gta. I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt they lost that with this announcement and showing their own priorities.

Considering that the media has been mum on the pc version as well doesn't speak well for them. They should be happy they have my sale money and my interest in mods.If mods weren't around I'd walk away considering my two playthroughs of the PS3 version.

I don't understand why people are complaining about the PC release date. It is obviously not where they want it to be. If they had released it and it turns out terribad it would be "Lazydevs". If it means that they are going to get it right then so be it.

Have we ever had a month this crazy?

There's

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Assassin's Creed Unity

Assassin's Creed: Rogue

Smash Bros. 4

Halo: Master Chief Collection

Grand Theft Auto V

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Far Cry 4

LittleBigPlanet3

And that's just some of the BIG games.

I was having trouble deciding if to go for PS4 (my firends will get this for multiplayer) or PC for Mods, this makes it easier! BOTH!

While i definitely do NOT condone it, this move alone will have people that would most likely have bought it, pirate it now, another fuck you to your original audience, i remember the good old days when PC had timed exclusivity on this series.
The past has little relevance in the minds of publishers. What matters is the state of the market today. I'm annoyed by delays regarding the platform I intend to play the game on as much as you are but I can see where Rockstar are coming from.
I know too many people waiting to pirate the PC version rather than being "forced" to pay on consoles.

I see PC players are getting worked up over the delay already.

They should really chill out, you've waited this long what's two more months?

I have the Xbox 360 Collector's Edition and I'm going day 1 on PS4. I will buy the PC version later, at a lower price. R* got me by the balls.

A delay is far, far from a guarantee they're "taking extra time". It could just simply be prioritisation of resources that puts the PC version on a schedule behind the consoles.

Will we get a ban if we start cursing and insulting Rockstar?
Jesus Christ, I don't mind the delay itself, but to release the game on november on consoles and AFTER THE HOLYDAYS on PC feels really like being shat on.

The next gen version will be the first time I'm experiencing GTAV.

Now I know how those people who experienced tLoU for the first time on PS4 felt.

PC players have waited this long, why not wait for when the game is 75% off on a Steam Sale?

What they should have done was show some respect and make the PC version the first one out the gate after the initial PS3/X360 release that's all i'm gonna say, this is even a bigger middle finger than what they normally do and in the end? We're gonna get a crappy port just like IV.

Honestly, do not care about the PC version delay. Already beat the game on 360. Only wanted it again for the graphics and mods.

Gonna be too busy playing AC:U, MCC, and Dragon Age anyway.

Maybe I'll get around to playing it this time. Have a sealed copy of the game on PS3 that I got for free from one of the Target deals around the PS4 launch.

I can wait until 2015; GTA V, Arkham Knight, and Evolve are all going to destroy my current PC anyways. More time for me to upgrade my PC :^)

Some, not all. I fully understand the reasoning behind it and find it ridiculous to see complaints on the PC side that have decided its due to hatred or console side glee of hatred or piracy issues from rockstar, when the reasoning seems obviously business minded

It's not exactly a secret that piracy on PC is rampant. Rockstar's way of dealing with this is to delay the inevitable to prevent some people interested in the game to pirate it on PC instead of opting for a console version.

Sad that PC gaming will never get rid of piracy but at least we will get the game.

I've thought about this and read about the PC piracy issue, but I don't think this is the main reason that games are delayed on PC. Pirates will pirate a game no matter what, and most of them aren't paying customers to begin with. So contrary to public opinion, delaying a PC release doesn't suddenly mean millions of pirates will opt for a console version.

The real issue here is that Rockstar is working on optimizing the PS4/XB1 versions as much as they can because those are fixed boxes and those consumers are the major market, and then work on the PC version in the 2+ months leading up to January. PC sales are consistently small relative to console sales so they likely don't care about the backlash of a PC delay. Of course, the PC port will likely (again) be a crappy unoptimized port in typical Rockstar fashion.

It is not about 2 months it is about their respect. They are constantly fuc*ing over PC player and expect good sales. When sales are bad they blame PC players.

I think the delay is there to try to curb the piracy rate as much as possible. They have been working on a PC sku since 2012. Besides, I don't even believe the technical aspect has anything to do with this, nothing will prevent the PC version from being problematic for some people.
That's just the nature of the platform.

Huh? HD7950 i5 2500k here, GTAIV runs like garbage. Can't even hold a consistent 60fps on lowest settings. I am far from an edge case. GTAIV was never truly fixed.
Something wrong with your machine. I get 60fps without any drops on 2500k and 280x. GTA5 will be fantastic on it I bet.
